Common Questions and Answers about Side effects of yaz weight loss

yaz

Avatar f tn Hmm, I just started Yaz again (had to switch to Yasmin for a bit) and my period has been going for two weeks. Now technically I'm supposed to be starting my period tomorrow and the bleeding is finally tapering off.
Avatar f tn ive been on yaz for almost 3 years and in the last year i have been sick every month for five months right before my period with gastroenteritis which is vomiting for 2 hours with diarrhea and being very dizzy . i also have very bad mood swings anger irritation very easily, cry for no reason and more, not really sure what to do because my doctor hasnt really suggested i go of of it?
Avatar f tn Well I took Yaz for 3 months and at the end my fiancee kindly asked me to switch, because I was so depressed and crying over everything. My body hurt so much also, headaches, stomach, then I started asking my girlfriends about it - all of them that tried it, got off it very quickly. But it might effect you differently..
Avatar f tn s important to me and my relationship, and wondering if EVERYONE has this side effect because of the effects on testosterone and is this a lasting effect even if I were to stop taking it. Are there any safer alternatives to hormone imbalance that do not effect sex drive and cause other related health problems. I am aware that with any medication their could be implications, but I am more prone to prefer more natural methods of solving problems. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn I've always had good luck with Yaz and Yasmin. Yaz has fewer side effects and most people can tolerate it and it works. However- everyone's body is different, and until they get the hormone balance right, you could have spotting, etc. I can say, that most likely- there is a pill out there that you could tolerate. Good luck.
737515 tn?1252552423 I have had severe anxiety problems before and they are terrible. I am sorry that you are having trouble with them & finding a birth control that works. I would NOT recommend YAZ...it's the only birth control that has had truly debilitating effects on my mood. I've experienced depression, anxiety, headaches, weird breathing/yawning side effects, you name it...
Avatar f tn Hi Jem Why not just google Yaz side effects and see if they match up to your symptems.
Avatar f tn I took Yaz for over a year. About 6 months after starting it I was waking up w/ my hands/arms asleep then it was also my feet. I went to my Dr when it continued for months and wouldn't go away. She and I talked and decides to switch my Birth Control to see if the symptoms would change in any way and they did! The numb tingling feeling went away quickly. Soon after many law suits came out against the manufacturer of YAZ.
1252901 tn?1271131868 As I go through your set of symptoms,it seems to have some relation with your pregnancy and drug history..Its better you take the pregnancy test and confirm that you are pregnant no way.If you are pregnant then every symptom seems to have a relation with it.But as per the drug history it drives me towards the adverse effects of Effexor drug which causes anorexia, headache, and GI problems like the one you stated. So why have been using that prescription for?
1447404 tn?1284604228 This is my first week on these two medications. I was told that I have PCOS a week ago. I was wondering what side effects you have had from these drugs. Over the past year, I have gained 50 pounds by changing nothing at all. This gain happened while I was doing 1.5 hr cardio a day with weights & eating around 800 calories. (5'4, 160 now). My Dr. told me that Metformin would help with lowering my weight.Yet, I'm now on Yaz.
Avatar f tn I was on Yaz for about 5 months and in mid march (2 months ago) i decided to go off of it because of the crazy side effects! i got my first non pill period somewhat on time and now im waiting for my second period but it is almost a week late. i highly doubt im pregnant because i always use condoms with my bf. I am kinda worried anyways though but i just wanted to know if it was normal or not?
Avatar f tn What all side effects should I expect on Yaz birth control pills, I have been taking it for 1 month and so far I have been having extremely sore breasts, is this very common?
Avatar f tn I was on Junel 1/20 for a couple of years, then went on Yaz for a month last April (I was living in Germany and the doctor ok'd it, even with my questions about health concerns). After going off Yaz, I have never had my period again and hadn't had it before that since February. I (stupidly) did not really think it was an issue until right around Christmas when my mother said I should get it checked out.
877371 tn?1240237527 the first two you listed are for weight loss and i dont think your supposed to really combine them
484167 tn?1210001396 She has had breast tenderness, very moody, break through bleeding, low sex drive. I undrstand these are all side effects of that pill. You can e-mail me at rocky1977_98***@**** to chat more. Would love to compare notes. Did you have breakthrough bleeding?
Avatar n tn I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to respond based on my experience with the drug.
1549189 tn?1293935668 I would research other methods of weight loss as opposed to going into drugs, where the side effects will eventually wear off anyway. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn I believe these are just side effects of the pill. I never experienced them myself but my sister experienced both increased hunger and tenderness of her breast on both the pill and the shot.
Avatar n tn A year a ago I was on a pill and I thought that my anxiety and weight was an issue so I changed to the Yaz combined pill. My anxiety and weight haven't changed. I have never had trouble with weight until this past 2 years and although I am watching what I eat and exercise 3 times a week nothings is working. I also get extremely lethargic the week before my period and this has been since my last child 10 years ago. Is there any pill out there that will help?
Avatar f tn i have been on some form of birth control since i was 16 (i think, or 17). i am 20 now. i have been on yaz for the last 2 years. i can't see my gyno, being out of state now, but i will talk to her about this of course before doing it. what should i expect? i went on it initially because i had heavy periods and bad cramps. when i get my period now, it's light with minor cramps. i never had acne or anything, but i think it might have helped clear up my skin a little.
2035835 tn?1336300786 Mine did, and now I can only feel it a tiny bit if my feet are in the same position for a long time (i.e. computer chair rail). It definitely has a side effect of weight loss. In fact, some doctors prescribe it specifically for that reason. (In people who are overweight, and don't suffer from migraine.) I lost weight almost immediately.
Avatar n tn I'm on YAZ, and so is my roommate, and we both have trouble with being dry. I actually had to buy lube because it was such an issue. I only switched from Seasonele because of the money, but I'm thinking of going back because of the Yaz side effects. I didnt have any on Seasonele, and I found out that its the same thing as Seasonique (except Seasonique has hormones in the "placebo" pills) and Seasonique is covered by a state program... hopefully everything will work out!
Avatar m tn I have tried several types of birth control to help with this and of course they do regulate the periods, but they are never less intense and the other side effects of the pill (nausea, weight gain, constant mood swings) are always so severe that I honestly would rather just have the irregular periods.
