zoloft

Avatar m tn I tend to notice side effects whenever my dosage is adjusted by my prescribing doctor or when I initially start it or taper off of it. I believe that experiencing side effects are two fold with me. One, there were some side effects, and two I probably tended to 'magnify' or focus in on them more intently and decided that any odd feeling was related to the medication when in reality, it may not have been due to the sertraline.
Avatar n tn Still on Effexor XR. I now realize this was quite a big jump onto a new med like Sertraline in a short amount of time. I trust my Doc as he's always been great with the meds as far as when to get on and off, plus I'm a fairly big guy at 6'2" 245lbs and have been on SSRI's for years as I've said.
Avatar f tn As most people taking anti depressants would say it takes 1-2 months to get the benefits and also putting up with possible side effects. I personally had the side effects of extreme tiredness/ lethargy, lack of motivation and slight Nausea. After four weeks I still get anxiety but I'm more in control and it doesn't go 'so deep'. My doctor has recently increased my dose to 100mg and only feeling ok but still have to tiredness.
9475243 tn?1405300275 Yes, you can. My Sertraline is in capsule form so i can't but by the sounds of it yours is in a pill/chalk form so your OK. If their are any side effects you'll probably notice in a week or 2. SSRI's usually take about 2 weeks to start having an effect and once they do don't ever stop cold turkey.
612551 tn?1450022175 Talking to myself? Now 8 days on sertraline and still fatigue side effects, an no noticeable reduction in my troubled ruminations. I will go to the full 50 mg on day 10, and if things get no better I'll ask my doctor for advice. Others have told me it takes a couple of weeks, so I should give it at least that long.
Avatar f tn How long have you been taking it? In my experience with Sertraline, I do tend to initially notice some side effects whenever I start, stop, or adjust dosage (under the doc's advice of course), but they tend to dissapate over time. As with any med, there are always pros and cons on taking it....for me, the pros vastly outnumber the cons, so in my experience with sertraline, it has helped me.
Avatar f tn Venaflaxine side effects not as bad as Sertraline. Cant remember that I experienced any side effects with Venaflaxine like I did with Serdep.
Avatar f tn Side effects happen and there are some that are only in the beginning called transient side effects. They usually get less and less as you stay on it and gone by 6 weeks. Insomnia could be part of that. Time will tell. You are on a very low dose though. It will typically take a higher dose to really treat it. Is your doctor planning to increase the dose?
Avatar n tn The most common side effects of Sertraline that you should watch out for are nausea, diarrhea and sleep disturbances, in that order. There are a lot of other side effects listed for Sertraline, but these are the ones commonly encountered. Drowsiness and excessive sleep may be seen with Clonazepam. Other side effects are rare. I won't be able to comment much on the effects of the initial dosage on your blood pressure, as it differs person to person.
Avatar m tn Hi, does Viagra/sidegra causes any long term side effects after using it? I've experienced a massive loss of sensitivity on my penis after using the pills. I have not been prescribed from a doctor, but bought of the store in Thailand. Popped 50 mg to 100 mg per intercourse. Have used it often for two weeks, and noticed the lack of feeling on the tip under intercourse and even when I stopped using the pills.
Avatar m tn Finally, I went back on fluoxetine, 40mg, but this time, a whole set of new side effects emerged, including, muscle tightness, muscle jerks, inability to rest my feet, the perioral sensation even worse, intense anxiety and even a movement disorder in my eyes (my gaze would quickly jerk away from the direction I was looking happening several times in a minute, and causing me difficulty especially in reading).
Avatar f tn just try and stay busy as hard as it may seem. distract yourself from these side effects. it helps. if the side effects are really that intolerable then talk to your doc asap. I really hope this med works for you like it has for me. what dosage are you taking?
Avatar f tn So I'm on 50mg sertraline day 4 and on my last night of taking 15mg mirtazapine tonight after being on it a week and one day and feel it wasn't doing anything for me only getting me to sleep at night and feel rubbish the next day it wasn't lifting my mood just hope that these new sertraline will do the job, my main question is why am I twitching all the time?? Is it the mirtazipine or sertraline?
Avatar m tn Depression itself is an important cause of sexual dysfunction but more important is the prolonged use of sertraline which has known side effects of ejaculation failure and paresthesia. Paresthesia is a sensation of tingling, tickling, prickling, pricking, or burning of a person's skin with no apparent long-term physical effect.
Avatar f tn have u taken this med in the evening at all?
Avatar n tn Coming from someone who had 4 panic attacks a week to having about 4 in that whole year, its worth it if the side effects arent too bad.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else taking Fluoxetine (similar to Prozac) experienced side effects? I have noticed some odd changes in the way my body responds to exercise; specifically, excessive sweating. I'm not sure if the medication is directly linked, but in the past year (I have been taking the drug for about 2.5 years) I break into an all over the body sweat very easily, and it has happened even when I'm not exercising.
Avatar m tn These are medications that are often prescribed for OCD, anxiety, depression. The sertraline can have side effects. What are you feeling like? I don't want to list side affects because I don't want you to start looking for particular one. :) How much Sertraline are you taking and how much alprazolam do you take during the day?
Avatar f tn I have a history of episodes of extreme anxiety and depression. These have occured after childbirth, and also , since I've had children, every few years if I am not on an antidepressant. So, to prevent these episodes every few years, I have decided to take my doctors advice, and stay on sertraline, I guess for the rest of my life. My dose has been lowered to 25 mg. But I still struggle with the drowsiness. I drink a lot of coffee.
1709162 tn?1314084832 I started taking sertraline a week ago. After 5 days of taking it I ended up in hospital with rapid heartbeat adrenaline rushes and chest pain. They kept me in and treated me as a heart attack because of abnormal ecg. I was kept.in overnight and concluded that I was suffering from oesophagul spasms. They have set me up to have a myoview scan as I have had an echo a year ago when I had the same problems which was good. They told my doc to give me nifedipine for the spasms which made me.worse.
Avatar f tn The side effects was bad!! After a week I went up to 50mg. After 3 weeks the docter increase it to 100mg. But I decided to half the pill and make it 75mg for a week. Then I will increase it to 100mg. The side effects is terrible every time I increase my dose. If U feel it doesnt work, tell your docter. Maybe he wiil prescribe something else. You can google Sertraline.
Avatar n tn His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite. When we went to see his specialist, 6 days ago, he'd lost 4.5 lbs (in 40 days).
Avatar m tn I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent. My psychiatrist prescribed a starting dose of sertraline of 50mg/day. Since starting the sertraline again i have been suffering from physiological anxiety symptoms such as a tight throat, lump in throat, trouble swallowing and breathing, etc. Is there an existing drug interaction between Sertraline and Buspirone and/or Mirtazapine ? Or can a person's toleration of a drug change over time?
Avatar f tn So, a trial of 6 to 8 weeks of sertraline is what most doctors do. They will stop this if the side effects are unusual or too much. So, do as your doctor says to see if this is related and if it is not, then you can go back. By the way, are you being titrated up in dose?
