Side effects of raloxifene medication

Common Questions and Answers about Side effects of raloxifene medication

evista

Avatar f tn It actually has the same side effects as Tamoxifen but not every person will experience all of these side effects or to the same degree. I'm not sure what you mean by "it made me ill" ... you may have the same side effects with the other drug but it's worth a try. Regards ....
Avatar f tn If severe enough, dr will rx Effexor to treat flashes. I have been reading such negative information about the side effects of Effexor, and even worse, the are withdrawal symptoms if you have to get off of it. Is there anyone reading this that actually had to take effexor along with Raloxifene? If so, could you tell me please if you had a good, or bad experience? Thank you for any input.
Avatar n tn I am not sure which medication your mother is taking, but Evista (raloxifene) can cause muscle cramps of the legs. Please have your mother make an appointment with her physician.
Avatar n tn Yes those drugs do have many side effects but not everyone will experience all of them or to the same degree. It has been proven that they do reduce the chance of recurrence by a rather high percentage but it is totally your decision. There is no reason that you couldn't try one of them and see what side effects you experience and then either switch to another drug or discontinue altogether if the side effects are severe. I do think it's the best path to take with lumpectomy. Regards ..
Avatar n tn Usually the attending physician gives information regarding the possible side effect of the drug while prescribing the medication. It could also be Arthritis due to many causes. Are you the one suffering with or some one else? Hope to hear you back with these details or consult your doctor. Take care.
Avatar n tn Have you noticed any side effects on Clonazepam or Lexapro? I am on 10 mg of Lexapro for a while now and added 1 mg of Clonazepam 2 monts ago. I noticed that I get twitches in my fingers and sometimes my fingers shake a little. Does this familiar to anyone?
Avatar f tn I called the Drs office today and he said these symptoms could not be from the med. I did research possible side effects a couple of days ago and these can indeed be side effects. Now, I'm not sure what to do. I was hoping he would recommend another med to try because on top of the stomach pain I'm having the bladder pain, tiredness and weakness. I guess my question is this. Has anyone had these side effects and if so did they go away?
Avatar f tn The medications currently FDA approved as chemoprevention for breast cancer are tamoxifen and raloxifene. Decisions to use a medication as chemoprevention would be made based on weighing the risks and benefits to the individual patient.
492898 tn?1222243598 You are so great; it was the last one, the Faslodex he was talking about, I am sure. I just could not find this information myself. (my brain, you know??) Thanks so much! Also about the info on hormonal and chemo. I am estrogen receptor positive and should have never stopped the tamoxifen, and it was not my idea, believe me. I am really hoping this will help and I also read that there is experimentation with use of high dose tamoxifen for brain mets.
Avatar n tn Since your panic attacks are happening less, are the headaches numerous and a reason that you cannot take the medication anymore? Or are some of the side effects okay with you now that your anxiety is much better? What does your prescribing doctor say about this? Headaches can also be caused by an endless number of factors in my opinon. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you still under a lot of stress? The point is, that the headaches may not even be related to the medication itself.
Avatar m tn If you have a problem with temporary movement disorders (extra pyramidal side effects) from Geodon or any antipsychotic they can give you a side effect pill for that. Informing yourself of the potential side effects of medications and more importantly how they help is a good thing. You could go to the websites we have linked up or the medication websites themselves and discuss the information with your psychiatrist.
1286779 tn?1400012806 I think Jaybay just gave you great advice. Lots of elderly have different side effects than the more common ones. Medications can easily interact and sometimes medications that have been fine for a long time all of a sudden aren't. A gerentologist probably is the best place to look for answers. When my mom was alive, we had a few kinks with her medications.
1495558 tn?1288805527 This medication had caused severe swelling of my mom's feet, she was told not to stop taking it. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Hi Jennifer, How are you? Medication side effects may or may not occur to patients. You were given pain medication, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine and antipsychotic/tranqulizer. You may experience gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting and sedative effects. However, it is important that any sign of allergic reaction such as difficulty of breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. twitching or tremor will warrant immediate attention. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn You may think it is easier for a woman to have this dysfunction and so we tolerate the medication for a longer period of time. Not so. It was hell. But, when I leveled out....once a period of two and a half years and another about a year, I was changed. Please stay on your meds, no long term effect from lamictal as far as everything I read and hubby and I are happy now. So talk to your psych and tell him/her what is going on.
Avatar f tn I experienced all of those side effects except the heart burn, but only at first. After awhile my body seemed to get used of the drug. I also gained weight on Depakote. That is the reason I am not on it now. I have back problems and the extra weight was brutal. Soon as as switched to Topamax (which has weight loss side effects) I lost the extra weight plus. Seizure meds are tough. They all have very extreme side effects.
Avatar m tn Common side affect of this medication. Do Not feed more or your dog will get overweight and that will be another issue. Continue feeding as before! Check with your vet as to what else you can give to help reduce the demands they make for more food!
Avatar f tn I suggest that you discuss with your oncologist regarding additional treatments like tamoxifen or raloxifene. These two drugs are proven to further decrease the chance of the cancer recurring on the same or the other breast and I believe would be of great benefit to your mother. However, these drugs have side effects that I believe are manageable and should be discussed well with the oncologist. Regards.
Avatar f tn Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
