Avatar n tn Does anyone know if permanent loose stools a common side effect of the regular intake of Omeprazole? I have no other side effects whatsoever.
Avatar n tn Here it is January 2014 and I am pretty sure I have one of the possible side affects of taking omeprazole, severe itchy skin. Twice in the last month I stopped taking it for a few days and believe I even had a withdrawal side affect. This was when I was just falling to sleep it felt like I could not breath. The first time I went to the ER and had various test performed which all came back negative. The second time occurred about 4 days ago when I stopped taking omeprazole again.
581954 tn?1223391496 m not really sure of the side effects of Omeprazole (Prilosec). But I do know you might be able to find some info on it in the Health Pages Tab. Were you tested for Thyroid problems? And I'm not talking about them just pulling a TSH value on you. You would need FreeT3 and FreeT4 values for it to be sufficient info to see if you have a Thyroid issue. The fatigue, light headedness, nausea, and heart burn/ GERD are all symptoms of Thyroid issues.
Avatar n tn Hi. I'm on my 12th week. I've been diagnosed before with GERD. Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?

1364792 tn?1278051187 I started taking omeprazole for acid reflux but stopped it after reading about the side effects, anemia as it takes out vitamin b12,broken bones as it takes out calcium and a risk of severe cold infections as it takes out vitamin c.A local doctor links acid reflux with anemia,so I started taking multi vits with iron and the acid reflux disappeared.
Avatar n tn t answer other that to say do a search here and/or on the web for side effects of omepraole. If that is a possible side effect discuss with your prescribing doctor you may be able to get help from some other medication.
Avatar f tn By terrible do you mean side effects or no relief? This med can start helping with in a couple of days depending on what you're being treated for.If you have an ulcer it can weeks to clear up and you may need to be on a double dose of this med.
709686 tn?1277432159 A few days later I switched to Zantac (Ranitidine) and within 3 days noticed that I would wake up in the middle of the night with severe join pain in my elbows, wrists, ankles & knees, I developed seasonal allergy symptoms, tingling sensation in both hands and feet and back pain. I read on a few websites that the joing pain and tingling sensation could be a symptom of low B12. Anyone else have these experiences? It ***** getting old.
Avatar f tn m on 88mg Synthroid and stopped Omeprazol almost 3 weeks ago cold turkey. After a few days i started to experience unpleasant side effects, moodiness, lack of appetite, nervosity...special in the morning....then I did a research on Internet and found out that you should tamper off Omeprazol after taking it more than 6 weeks...I should have researched before but I trusted the doctor. It got a little bit better with the appetite and cold-like symptoms....
Avatar m tn i would just like to say that my doctor prescribe me omeprazole and as you may or may not know, omeprazole has a lot of side effects including headaches and diarrhea... so now to the details of the question, me and my girlfriend had sex about three and a half weeks ago to be exact, for the first time. i used protection in the intercourse but she didn't used protection when she gave me oral. so i been paranoid because today i feel headaches and that feeling of getting a cold.

Avatar f tn After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. I then had a left rib fracture of unknown cause. At that time, no side effects like this were published. I did find a small group with similar symptoms but my Doc said it was not the Nexium. I stopped it and within 4 days, the flank and thigh pain were gone. I was later put on Omeprazole, 40 mg 2x a day fir the past few months. Not sure yet, but my low back muscles are killing me.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately I suffered very bad side effects such as hallucinations (Omeprazole) and rash with both. So am still in a lot of pain and not sure what to do? Just wondered if anyone can suggest any recommendations. And if you do eventually get better? I find sitting very hard which means I can't work at the minute.
Avatar n tn As you can see, most of the side effects appear to be gastrointestinal, which means we have to be aware of whether our symptoms are coming from the Reflux/Barrett's, etc., or could be the result of too much medicine for too long a period of time. My doctor was not saying don't take the drugs; on the contrary, he was saying take only the dosage you need to control your symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hi rubatta As far as your question is Omeprazole appropriate for a patient with cirrhosis, that would best be asked of a health care professional like your doctor. We are not doctors here. We are either patients with hepatitis c and /or cirrhosis or our loved ones who act as our caregivers. You should discuss all your medications including non prescription with your doctor. If you have cirrhosis it is best that your doctor is a hepatologist associated with a liver transplant center.
1494710 tn?1288737161 Take a late night snack. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. This may take care of symptoms. Consult a doctor if you have pain somewhere and ask for pain killers with less of gastric side effects. Treating the cause is the best way to deal with pain. Take care!
