Common Questions and Answers about Side effects of ambien in pregnancy

ambien

Avatar f tn I was wondering what to expect in terms of side effects from quitting.Anybody out there been through this? I think i see now why the addiction psychiatrists wont prescribe ambien.....my gp doc did that, and yes she knew about my addiction to the pain meds.
202665 tn?1248806733 Besides the medications I take for depression and BP (Cymbalta, lamictal, lithium), I've also been tking 50mg of Trazadone and 10mg of Ambien nightly for about 6 months. Sometimes it works...sometimes not. If I miss a certain window of time to take the night drugs...I'm wired instead of sleepy. I will stay up until 3-4a wandering around..eventually get a couple hours sleep, and still have high energy the next day...or couple days...until I crash.
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar n tn why did the pyschiatrist up the dose after I displayed about 15 of 20 side effects? Why was I diagnosed Bi-polar on these meds when I had lived my life and held the same job all my life, and was normal? Was the doctor incompetant? If a person sufferes side effects, shouldn't they be taken off the medication, why was mine upped? I am still angry, I lost 4 years of my life, for what I believe to be incompatantcy....What would cause me to have side effects like that? Thank you for your time.
Avatar f tn My Dr gave it to me in the hospital no side effects

Avatar n tn The other common side effects of Ambien are headache, dizziness, mental clouding, daytime drowsiness and allergies. Hence, it is advised you visit your doctor if you are experiencing any such side effects. The drug is considered safe for a period of two to maximum six weeks for the treatment of insomnia. If taken for a longer duration, one may develop dependence on ambien. You should discuss with your doctor about the risks of taking ambient for 2 weeks or longer.
Avatar n tn After 4 weeks of Insomnia i had to get something for sleep , Ambien and it works for me , but without it i really cant sleep . So should i take it every evening ? And is that hard on us Hep C people ? 2. From first week of TX i have a slight numbness , only on the little finger edges of my hands and arms , anyone else have this ? 5 weeks of tx and really except for insomnia all is well .
Avatar f tn Hi, I think alot of it has to do with the ambien but xanax also has alot of w/ds too. I know for me, the ambien made me a nervous wreck the day after I would take it. I also was doing alot of stuff in the middle of the night that i didn't remember doing. Ambien is a very strange drug and I am very glad I stopped taking it. I felt better right away.
1194973 tn?1385503904 m curious as to how others have reacted to it and what they think. I read a few reviews on it, and people said it causes a whole load of side effects such as nausea, a "hangover" feeling and random other things. Has anyone tried it with success and did they have any negative effects from it? I also have a high tolerance to a lot of medicines. I've been given sleep aids in the past and none of them really worked with success, so I'm hoping this one may work.
Avatar f tn Normally you would experience withdrawals but to what extent can depend on dose, length of time etc. I think that you should go in and see your doctor and he can give you specifics on what to expect.
Avatar f tn t have any of the side effects that some people report. Hopefully, someone with more experience and information can respond. Take care, dear, you are doing so well!
Avatar n tn Atypical antipsychotics can have a lot of side effects. If you think your memory problems are from the seroquel, talk to your doctor about changing your meds around. If they're for schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, you'll need to stay on some sort of antipsychotic, but different ones have different side effect profiles for different people. If it's for bipolar or as an add on for depression, you can switch drug classes entirely, which might work better for you.
1102799 tn?1269237714 yes our friend took Lunesta and his wife found him a couple of nights walking in the house in the middle of the night, he had no memory of it and did not have this problem with Ambien. Ambien generally gave me a buzz when I took it at night, I would feel euphoric (but no sleepwalking) - I do not have this side effect with Ambien CR. I guess one needs to be careful with all of these sleeping pills!
1922425 tn?1322702653 Hi andream5, my husband is finishing week 16 today, so he completed incivek about 4 weeks ago. I would say his side effects since finishing incivek include itching (no rash), fatigue, some weakness/shortness of breath, fatigue, dry mouth/metallic taste in mouth, and insomnia. I think that the symptoms he is experiencing right now (post incivek) are very similar/identical to the side effects he had with previous two treatments. For the itching, he takes Atavan.
Avatar f tn Benzodiazepine withdrawal could be very dangerous and has high risks of seizures. Ambien has numerous side effects as well including hallucinations. You should consult with a doctor before managing any prescription intake of withdrawal .
Avatar f tn This is just a thought but i have known, both with myself and other people, that when we have taken a drug and then we have changed the company that makes the drug, even though it is in theory the same drug taken it can cause new side effects. So, this drug that you had this side effect too may of been from a different company than the one you were use to.
Avatar m tn I can tell you from experience, both Ambien and Ambien CR are notorious for causing odd behavior. I had to quit taking Ambien CR after it stated causing anxiety and pacin attack issues. Regular Ambien caused my husband to rise an hour after going to sleep and go down to our garage and work on his bike until 3:30 AM, when I realized he wasn't in bed and found him downstairs asleep.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
Avatar m tn If you tell your doctor you want off the Clonazepam, then he/she ought to be smart enough to put you on a taper plan. Some doctors are woefully ignorant of benzos and how to get off of them. Not all, but some are. If your current Dr will not taper you off, then I would suggest you find another. The slower the taper the better. We can't give specific taper advice here, so please find a doctor who will give you a plan.
Avatar n tn and again...is ambien the only drug that u take on a regular basis?
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever been given ambien during pregnancy? I just started on it last night to help me sleep. Anyone have any negative effects? Should i be worried about my babies?
Avatar n tn I would think it was the Ambien alone causing the problems, but anything is possible. Ambien has a lot of possible side effects. I've taken melatonin without problem, but it is illegal in Europe.
