side effects of aciphex taking

Do you think this may be a side effect of the Aciphex? Thank you in advance for any insight you could provide.

It's definitely a side effect. As soon as I quit taking the PPI, I feel normal. Before I figured out what was causing this, I went to my dr and they tested my gall bladder. The test came back that my gall bladder wasn't working properly, so they took it out, which I'm sure was not neccessary, as I've read that Nexium can cause that. So, here I am, feeling the same, and nothing helps.

Which, incidentally, stopped when I stopped taking the aciphex. Shortly after taking the aciphex I started experiencing symptoms of GERD. I still have the GERD to this day - some days its worse than others. I connect a straight line between the taking of aciphex and the development of GERD. Is this a reasonable conclusion? or is there some other more likely explanation?

I have been on reflux meds for the past 5yrs and have had numerous side effects from hyperhydrosis, a tremor in my hand (which I was on propranolol for about 1yr 9mths for), and most recently a tic has developed in my eyelids. The hydrosis has finally went away (4.5yrs later) and the hand tremor is minimal but my eyelids are going nuts. I am assuming its the drugs for reflux (I am having surgery for that soon). Does anyone know of anything else that would be causing this?

m on 88mg Synthroid and stopped Omeprazol almost 3 weeks ago cold turkey. After a few days i started to experience unpleasant side effects, moodiness, lack of appetite, nervosity...special in the morning....then I did a research on Internet and found out that you should tamper off Omeprazol after taking it more than 6 weeks...I should have researched before but I trusted the doctor. It got a little bit better with the appetite and cold-like symptoms....

(1) Is the above true? (2) Are the side effects the same, and (3) What's the difference between the two. Thanks for your time.

So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?). Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I have posted in the pain management forum, but not in this one yet. I've been having bad neck and shoulder and shoulder blade pain on the right side for a few months. I have been taking Protonix since May, 40mgs once every evening. Because I'm not getting relief with chiropractic care or anything else for that matter, I started thinking about medication and side effects. The protonix s the only thing that could possibly be the culprit.

I have the same symptoms as you after a month on protonix. Can you please let know if yours was an allergic reaction? I'm trying now Aciphex after three weeks of not taking any ppis, since I thought that I'm having an allergic reaction. I really hope this ppi will work without the side effects.

Fom 9/8/2008 through 10/10/08, was taking only 20 mg of Aciphex but was taking so many other medications since doctor diagnosed IBS that I couldn't tell which one was causing the problem. After endoscopy on 10/17/08 and duodonal ulcers found, all other medication was stopped which is how I identified Aciphex was causing major problem.

Hello all, I recently found out that I have a urinary tract infection and have to take antibiotics for 10 days, 2x daily. I really don't like taking medication and am very nervous about it; but I have too in order to get rid of the infection. It's a medication they give pregnant ladies quite often-can't remember the name (nope, not pregnant).

worsened IBS - bad abdominal cramps (caused by Nexium together with fever and Zantac) a white-coated and burning tongue (caused by Prevacid, Zantac, Protonix, Pepcid, Riopan). I'd like to know if anybody has experienced intollerance to the various antireflux medicines similar to mine. Have you ever had a severely burning tongue caused by them?

The only side effects that i experienced was my lack of patience...i'm cranky and it doesn't take much to fire me up! It didn't matter what does i was on (50mg or 100mg).

Hi, If you have a discharge from the urethra, a yeast (candida) infection needs to be ruled out. It is possible that you became infected befor symptoms became obvious in your girlfriend. Is it possible that the infection she had has not been completely eliminated? How was it determined that the infection had disappeared? Pain in the testicles and a whitish discharge are reasons enough for meeting your doctor and pursuing further treatment after the requisite tests.

My GI switched me to Nexium because Aciphex gave me terrible side effects and Protonix made my water brash symptoms ever worse. I have tried Prilosec in the past and it didn't have much of an effect for me. I'm just wondering what else I can do to alleviate my water brash symptoms. It has been on-going for more than three months. I can pretty eat anything I want(coffee, wine and pizza etc,etc) and my symptoms do not get better or worse after I eat.

I have been taking Aciphex for a couple years with good results. However I recently had a sinus infection and took Amoxicillin for 7 days. Here it is, 2 weeks after stopping the Amoxicillin, I am having severe heartburn again. Did the antibiotic have anything to do with this?

my gerd cleared up , i healed up completely and i felt great .....no side effects . u should ask ur doc about aciphex ....... i tried everything and aciphex is the best ....... let me know what happens ....

Make sure to check with your doctor that it is safe for you to discuntinue use of the Aciphex before you go off of it though. I might also consider getting tested for the H-Polory again because I think its not uncommim for it to show a false-negative, and it can also come back again. Just a thought if your still feeling bad. Also Benadryl works great for nausea, ya have to give it about an hour to kick in though.

Hi...both meds are PPI's and work the same...getting off either needs to be done with the help of ur Dr, u need to step off slowly ot avoid the rebound effect of this med. PPI's stop production of the acids, when u stop taking the meds, it flips the on switch and many times our system makes too much all at once and we feel the same as we did b4....this is y it is very important to slowly step off these meds and know u may have some GERD until ur body adjusts.

I started taking, fertilblend, royal bee jelly , spirulina, prenantal vitamin(from Target)up and ups,and once or twice a week, I take in my water false unicorn root tincture... Im going to start my journey with ivf in January,,, last I went to my RE was april, and my Fsh was 10 on the 3rd day.. so We will start testing again... Baby dust!!!!

I recently started taking Progesterone. My levels were 1.0 at 21 days, which is low. I've been taking the Progesterone for 2 days now. Has anyone had any noticable side effects? I have been extremely tired the past couple of days and have had sharp on and off cramping. Is that a "normal" side effect?? when I was first diagnosed with Barretts I was taking aciphex. Two years later when I went for a re-check endoscopy the gastrointerologist suggested that I go on nexium. He said he thought it worked better than aciphex. Well about 8 weeks into the nexium I was getting great pains, I thought my desease was getting worse. I went back to the Dr. and asked to be put back on the aciphex. I beleive those pains were a side effect of the nexium.

t handle al the jittering and other side effects I am getting. Should I hang in there a little longer of stop taking it?

She gave me a different pack to try which worked but when I didnt have any more I stopped taking pills all together. After about 3 months of nothing I started with my stash of Yasin. I took it for the first 3 days but couldnt bare with the sickness. Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?
