thats all i gotta say about that the only thing i can add is to do all of your research on this procedure and the after effects no matter what you are told by anyone...i would try to find a video of the procedure as it is done on line and then the after effects with visuals....good luck and i sincerely hope it works out well for you and you can put your heart situation and your issues behind you...i know it is very difficult.....

I had an ECG and an MRI about a year ago, both of which came back normal. My question is - would the heart MRI I had have shown the areas around the heart? I am wondering if there could be an abnormality in perhaps the vessels around the heart, a blockage of somekind etc. causing my heart to skip/jump/flutter and cause odd sometimes painful popping sensations in my chest?

Hi im a 27 years old guy last year I had open heart surgery to do a mitral valve repair.
I've had heart palpitations for 10 months, they started right after a hiatus hernia operation. I get them everyday. I get them at different times, while watching tv or just relaxing in bed, doing normal everyday things. I had blood work done and was told I was low on B12 and was told to take 1000 mcg of a supplement daily. While taking it the palpitations got stronger so I stopped taking it and they eased up.
I recently had a double bypass operation and recovered pretty quickly, about rwo months after my surgery, I developed shortness of breath and get very winded when I walk or do any kind of exercise, it is worse at night when I am laying down, all this happened after my surgery, could the bypass have anything to do with it?

ed34's post is accurate in my opinion. ECG's are not always accurate, but they do indeed show heart issues. I'd have a stress test to check out the ECG's accuracy, or at least ask for a second ECG.
I've had cataract surgery, and indeed, it is an emotional event. I'd cover Mom's bases if possible with a stress test.
Kidney problems after bypass surgery can occur but the majority recover. It is also common for shortness of breath during recovery. Some patients take several weeks or even months for this to resolve. This does not mean they shouldn't run tests to establish it isn't a problem with the bypass vessels.
