Avatar m tn I deployed to Iraq in 2008, and about 4 months later had a headache that only went away with DHE. Since then I have had abnormal MRI's, random illnesses. Now I have chronic shoulder pain which has recently progressed to left sided arm pain, neck pain, left sided face pain, & sharp shooting pain in my shoulder + right hand numbness, feels like my fingers are swollen, severe pain in the knuckles, and odd numb feeling in right shoulder.
Avatar n tn Personally I find the taper method to be an exercise in futility. I always take more just to "normalize". I am on day 9 off of a habit that was 3 times higher than yours. I followed the Thomas recipe and started exercising on day 4. The physical has subsided with the exception of RLS. Just think you give yourself a terrible flu to get a brand new life. The best quote I have seen said "I may have another high in me but I don't have another withdrawl".
Avatar f tn One of the best things that you can do is to have some PT (Physical Therapy) to learn the proper stretching techniques for your shoulder. If you incorporate the stretching exercises into your everyday regime that will be to your benefit in getting your life back to normal as quickly as possible!! :) It's my understanding, that "moist" heat will also help it in loosening up. I know that Pain Medications can also help with the pain, thought they do nothing for the stiffness.
Avatar f tn My physio has done nothing with me to be able to gradually work up to full movement. All i get is my movement measured and exercises on a sheet of paper. My post op movement was 150° compared with 90° i have now! When the surgeon spoke to me after operation he said my shoulders was an absolute mess like id fallen from a building and landed on it in terms of scarring and adhesions. If my arm is not taken above 90° in 4 weeks scaring and adhesions have probably already formed?
Avatar m tn I have been advised to have an operation (arthroscopic) to the tendons of my rigth shoulder. The procedure is to repair the rotator cuff tendon and the biceps tendon. This could be due to an old injury as I was analyzed some years back with a frozen shoulder. Recently the pain and disconfort on my rigth shoulder was accelerated by exercising at the gym. I have now rested for 6months and the pain has gone away but I have lost some power in my right shoulder.

Avatar f tn A nerve block is used during the operation which means that immediately after the operation the shoulder and arm may feel numb. This may last a few hours. After this the shoulder may well be sore and you will be given pain killers to help this whilst in hospital. These can be continued after you are discharged home. Ice packs may also help reduce pain. Wrap frozen peas or crushed ice in a damp, cold cloth and place on the shoulder for up to 15 minutes.
Avatar f tn Pain is bound to happen after any operation. As this operation is arthroscopic and the damage is minimal, the chances of reinjuring the shoulder during sleep are very less. The recovery occurs in a series of phases. Keep helping yourself with physical therapy.

Avatar f tn I had heart surgery at 2. Recently gave birth to my first child a little boy. I was in the boat as you worried. Dr suggested to do ecg 2 weeks before I was due. Ecg is to test your heart to make sure all is good. Since I was low risk so my heart was all fine no drama. I gave birth naturally! All healthy.
3048701 tn?1486130938 The only way to get to the other side of Hell is to walk straight thorough the middle.  Hi all - I've always lurked on this board, trying to find courage and inspiration from my brothers and sisters in this battle.  Whereas many of you can blame your doctors and agonizing pain for this predicament, I can not. What started as a great way to enhance a weekend buzz (4 beers with 4 Norcos) has spiraled out of control.  I guess I have an "addictive petsonality.
Avatar m tn The second instance was when I was much older and I was unlucky enough to get frozen shoulder syndrome (again caused by moderately heavy lifting but repetitive over several weeks and not a one time thing like earlier). Sometimes such a syndrome just comes out of the blue for no particular reason.

Like some others interviewed by The New York Times, she wanted to be identified only by her first initial because of the shame associated with rape. “He kept telling me this is ibadah,” she said, using a term from Islamic scripture meaning worship. http://www.nytimes.

535758 tn?1213715961 When I went to neuro for post op he sent me to a doctor to look at my shoulder. I did not have shoulder pain before the neck surgery however, now I have pain in both shoulders. Eight weeks ago I had slap and rotator cuff surgery because I was told my shoulder was torn. I am not getting any better! It was my left shoulder they operated on however, now both are hurting without any relief.
