Shoulder operation recovery

Common Questions and Answers about Shoulder operation recovery

operation

Avatar n tn Hope this gives you a perspective what is generally expected from a prior valve operation. At 33 years old you may have a faster recovery time, but I don't believe experiencing your symptoms after two weeks is unexpected, but you may want to contact your doctor to be safe. Thanks for your question, and I wish you well going forward.
Avatar f tn As this operation is arthroscopic and the damage is minimal, the chances of reinjuring the shoulder during sleep are very less. The recovery occurs in a series of phases. Keep helping yourself with physical therapy.

Avatar n tn Hi I have been struggling with this question for a few years now. My mother is currently 85 yrs. old, lives in a nursing home, wheelchair bound. Diagnosed with Parkinson's (does not really have the tremors, just hard for her brain to communicate with her muscles causing very hard time walking ...she "freezes" at times. Along with possible Parkinson's Dementia.
Avatar f tn Along with all my other problems I have back and shoulder pain and pain (gallbladder attacks) after I eat fatty foods. Or just eat the wrong thing. My doctor said we don't have to take the gallbladder out right now. Just avoid those foods. Huh? Me and my husband are quite confused? Any responses as to why you would leave a faulty gallbladder that is causing pain in you?
Avatar m tn • Pain and tension in my left shoulder, upper left back, jaw, left hand all the way to the fingers, left foot all the way to the fingers. • Pops and clicks in all of the related joints. • numbness in the left cheek, shoulder, arm and hand including the fingers (all of them), as well as the left foot.. my background: I am working in front of the computer all day. I have suffered from pain that was caused by sub discharges of my left shoulder in the past years.
Avatar f tn A nerve block is used during the operation which means that immediately after the operation the shoulder and arm may feel numb. This may last a few hours. After this the shoulder may well be sore and you will be given pain killers to help this whilst in hospital. These can be continued after you are discharged home. Ice packs may also help reduce pain. Wrap frozen peas or crushed ice in a damp, cold cloth and place on the shoulder for up to 15 minutes.
1263062 tn?1289450701 My symptoms are still severe pain in the neck/shoulder area, migraines (which I never had before), tingling feeling in left arm and foot, sharp shooting pain in mid back between shoulderblades, when it hits it feels like some one stabbed me with an electric probe and I get goosebumps all over my body. My question is could something else be wrong? Should I be sucking this up and returning to work like he asks? Should I be fighting it and ask for more time/test?
Avatar n tn Hello I am 34 and I too had to have 2 laproscopic surgeries to have each of my boys. I also have endo. anyway, I noticed a drastic difference in the first and second surgeries, due to the pains you are talking about. Check this out. I was 24 and had to children when I had the first surgery So i was young and energetic and got up and around the very day i had the operation.. and I had NO pains in my chest or stomache.
Avatar f tn In your previously posted question (10/14/15) I said that this operation is unusual and recovery is not as fast or predictable as the standard cataract removal insertion of IOL done in an adult. The complication you have is not rare. The white stuff is usuallyy as Soemmering's Ring dislocation see link below. http://bjo.bmj.com/content/35/4/226.full.pdf This is not a minor operation. This will reset the clock to day one again.
Avatar f tn Not sure if my severe shoulder pain will go away as the nerves settle or perhaps never. Thoughts?
Avatar m tn Hi, i was just wondering if anyone would know if a nerve block i had for a shoulder operation could cause the issues im having with my shoulder and arm now, before i had only pain in my shoulder(rotor Cuff), after the operation and nerve block i had , i am still numb 6 mnths later, have burning feelings in whole arm, cannot turn wrist properly, fingers feel like they are "dead", limited use , all of this and im only 32 years old. Any answers would be appreciated.

Avatar n tn I have had two abalatons done in 2008 and a electrocardioversion done in 2011 all unsuccessful. Is the recovery time about a month? thanks for your help, I'm a little anxious.
Avatar f tn Thank you for replying to my question, that has took a lot of weight off my shoulder and I've already had an ecg and an eco done but as I said my heart is fine :)
Avatar n tn I'd be interested to learn how you father did, how long this problem lasted, and what you learned about the cause. I'm 10 weeks post CABG/4 and I've had the same problem for the past week. The pain occurs each time I take a breath and it's traveled from one side of the chest and shoulder to the other. After a week the shoulder pain, which is very sharp and severe, had finally improved to the point that I know longer need the vicodin an ER doc gave me a couple of days ago.
535758 tn?1213715961 When I awoke from the surgery I had awful shoulder pain. I was in recovery screaming my shoulder and bicep was killing me. When I went to neuro for post op he sent me to a doctor to look at my shoulder. I did not have shoulder pain before the neck surgery however, now I have pain in both shoulders. Eight weeks ago I had slap and rotator cuff surgery because I was told my shoulder was torn. I am not getting any better!
Avatar m tn My mom was operated of right parietal meningioma on December 14 2009. 6443793 tn?1469746195 Just try to keep her on the calm side,NO jumping up on any couches, beds, chairs( or down off of them) for 5 days, also it would be best she did not go up or down steps for this time frame also. IF she wants to race or run around, you may need to put a harness and leash on her, keep her close ( hook the leash to your belt)so she is slowed down or use a crate to allow her to rest, lay down more.IF you have steps to go outside pick her up,carry out,let her potty then carry back inside.
Avatar f tn I followed all instructions regarding positioning. 10 days after the operation, my doctor told me that the hole was closed, the gas bubble is more than halfway down but I am still not able to see clearly. On top of blurry and slightly distorted images I see a small light dark spot , which flashes when I blink. Can you tell me if this isnormal part of recovery, or something else is wrong? I am 57 and otherwise very healthy.
Avatar n tn I have had two OHS in four years and my chest never popped or crackled after either. Both my surgeries were open sternum.
Avatar f tn Recovery from cataract surgery is from days to a few weeks. Dr. O.
Avatar f tn How was your Nissen surgery? I have heard that it is a hard surgery to recover from.
Avatar f tn had the calcium removed in that shoulder. My recovery pain was maybe rated a 2. It was great. Unfortunately, I just had a flare-up again in my left shoulder (the one we did not operate on.). The calcium actually covered my rotator & bicep tendon this time. I just had surgery Monday. This surgery is a little more to recover from due to the large calcium. Both of my surgeries required anchors to be put in my rotators. Good luck to you.
