Avatar m tn He is going to borrow some money from someone else for the operation. But he got to know the cost of the operation. He tried to ask the hospital but they said only if he registered and made appointment for the surgery, otherwise they won't disclose anything about the cost of the operation. And the doctor know nothing about the price.

Avatar f tn Hi, I have had shoulder pain from approx 2yrs resulting from an accident. My doctor referred me to an orthopeadic surgeon in dec 2008, it was dec 2009 when i finally received surgery. I had an arthroscopic procedure called sub acrominal decompression. I cannot tell you in words how painful this was!!!! Unfortunately my pain persisted and i developed a frozen shoulder and i had manipliation under anestetic in march 2010.
Avatar f tn I've been told that to have an MRI taken of my shoulder 4 weeks post op after having rotator cuff surgery would be a waste of time as the pictures would be too clouded by inflammation from the recent surgery to be able to see anything. Is this true? A Radiographer has told me this wouldn't be true and you could still see the pictures clearly enough.
Avatar f tn The screw should be taken away in an operation. I think that when time is going on, PHPT will become worse and the shoulder operation will become more difficult to do. I had not time to discuss this with the doctor, as I could not ask many other questions either ( I had 2x30 minutes time). Just now I don’t have pain in the shoulder and therefore don’t like to go to the operation. But sometimes I have pain and weakness in the shoulder and neck spine.
Avatar m tn I have been advised to have an operation (arthroscopic) to the tendons of my rigth shoulder. The procedure is to repair the rotator cuff tendon and the biceps tendon. This could be due to an old injury as I was analyzed some years back with a frozen shoulder. Recently the pain and disconfort on my rigth shoulder was accelerated by exercising at the gym. I have now rested for 6months and the pain has gone away but I have lost some power in my right shoulder.
Avatar n tn Six months after the first surgery, I reinjured the disk and had to have another one, this time with a fusion. Now, I have extensive neck pain that radiates down the right shoulder and right latisimus dorsi. The pain interferes with every aspect of my life. If you can be patient and try the other therapies, I think you'lll be happier. If they don't work, then you can always opt for surgery. This all depends, of course, on how your current symptoms are affecting your life.
Avatar f tn A nerve block is used during the operation which means that immediately after the operation the shoulder and arm may feel numb. This may last a few hours. After this the shoulder may well be sore and you will be given pain killers to help this whilst in hospital. These can be continued after you are discharged home. Ice packs may also help reduce pain. Wrap frozen peas or crushed ice in a damp, cold cloth and place on the shoulder for up to 15 minutes.

Avatar f tn Pain is bound to happen after any operation. As this operation is arthroscopic and the damage is minimal, the chances of reinjuring the shoulder during sleep are very less. The recovery occurs in a series of phases. Keep helping yourself with physical therapy.
Avatar f tn we took our cat to the vet for a dislocated shoulder and it only cost 55$, but it might vary, depending on what vet clinic you see. sorry for your poor kitty, realy hope that you can find a way to help them.
Avatar f tn I too have frozen shoulder following on from a Artriscopic Decommpression Sub operation. I feel I ahve gone backwards, did so well 10 days after my operation with regard to my movement and now I hav ethis issue. It is sooooooooo painful and it makes me feel sick on sudden movements and aches constantly.
Avatar f tn You can't really say an exact time frame that it takes a shoulder to 'refreeze' as every shoulder and every patient are different. They will work your shoulder gradually, working up to the full range that your ortho wants, based on what you can do.
Avatar n tn 21 days post-arthroscopic left shoulder surgery for removal of 3 spurs, arthritis, and shredded bursa the pain and daily discomfort along with nightly pain that causes need to leave the bed and move or sit in recliner is 10-20 times worse than before the operation whether I "rest" the shoulder by doing nothing but ice or use the shoulder while cutting or carrying firewood/using the arm in 'normal' daily activities there is no significant difference.
Avatar m tn 00pm and was back at home at 1pm the next day. As for the different options, it is difficult to suggest which one is best. After running through my pre op symptoms ie pain and numbness in neck, shoulder and arms, Dr Rogers told me what his preference was. I ended up getting carbon fibre replacement discs on two levels (the same as yours) and fusion. I believe the bone graft is a little more painful from what I have read as they need to operate on your hip as well.
Avatar m tn I have both cervical and lumbar DDD that causes severe headache/neckache/shoulder pain, as well as lumbar pain--sometimes all occur together, sometimes it's more one or the other, mostly right-sided. I am 68 and have always been physically active. I have done some research on microsurgeries for neck and back. Anyone have info on results they or significant others have with this?
