Should xalatan be refrigerated

Common Questions and Answers about Should xalatan be refrigerated

xalatan

Avatar m tn Taking the Cosopt three times one day and not doubling up will not hurt you, but I recommend that you start the correct dosing of twice a day for optimal therapy and let your doctor know that you did not use it correctly for that short period of time.
Avatar m tn A year ago when l first started taking Xalatan myeye pressure was 33 now its 20 so the drug seems to be working. IS 20 still too high? my eye doctor has prescribed me Timoptol XE to try to make it lower. If the soreness continues are there any alterantive eyedrops for glucoma thst work just as well that don't casue soreness or stinging ?
Avatar n tn BAK causes a problem if you are allergic to it. Xalatan can cause redness of your eyes. This should have been discussed with you by your doctor when you started it. Dr. O.
Avatar m tn I MISSED A COUPLE DOSES OF COSOPT AND XALATAN THE PAST MONTH SHOULD I JUST GO ON WITH MY REGULAR SCHEDULE/
Avatar f tn Have used Xalatan for several years with no rash. Added Trusopt 1 year ago and about 3 months ago I started with a rash on eyelids. Dermatologist treated for contact dermatitis Fluticasone Propionate cream with little result. Opthamologist treated for blepharitis with an antibiotic cream and eyelid wash, again no relief. I tried using Xalatan in AM rather than at nite, no change. Tried just Trusopt AM and early PM, no change.
Avatar f tn I feel yu! I keep all the stuff I want that doesn't have to be refrigerated in my room but the cold stuff is hard to keep in the fridge ...
Avatar m tn Tell all your family members and relatives of your problem and that they should see an Eye MD ophthalmologist to be sure they don't have the problem JCH II MD
Avatar n tn I have been using Xalatan for the last 6 months for my eye pressure which was 23 and now is around 17. Over the last 3-4 weeks I have eye pain in one of the eyes, consistent dull ache. I visited my Optho and had eye dilated and checked and everything looks fine. He changed the drops to Travatan. But the pain is still present after using travatan for like 2 weeks. What else can be the cause? What else should I try to find out?
17644146 tn?1458782868 I wonder if anyone was ever using the brand name Xalatan and then had to switch to the Greenstone generic brand (supposedly made by same company- Pfizer). If so has it worked okay? My insurance might not cover the brand name any longer, which I have been taking for about 30 years, and wants me to switch to generic. (Insurance company and pharmaceutical companies are driving me crazy with their prices, etc.
Avatar n tn Go to www.rxassist.org and log in and put your brand drug name to see if you can get Pharma help, even if you have insurance, in some cases. For example, if you have Medicare and your income/2 is below $29,140, Pfizer will provide the medication for free. The trick is you have to submit a hardship form along w/application. Call them at (800) 707-8990 and tell them you have Medicare and they will send the form with the application. You don't have to be in the coverage gap.
Avatar f tn How much can Xalatan lower IOPs by? If it is not enough to get into safe figures, can other prostaglandins be tried? Is it realistic to hope that some of them will work for more than 2 or 3 years or is tolerance almost always built up to the drugs?
Avatar m tn Hi, my doctor would like me to have SLT in one eye (has a test) to lower my IOP (Xalatan is not enough apparently)... I've red a couple of studies on SLT and some pretend that SLT is coutner indicated for Juvenile glaucoma (it could raise IOP instead of lowering it) I'm 31 years old... Any thoughts ?
Avatar n tn What special considerations, if any, need to be taken as my wife considers having her cataracts removed and a multi-focal lens inserted, given the fact that her IOP's were slightly elevated (and an Aunt had glaucoma) but returned toward normal on Xalatan drops? Might she expect the cataract surgery itself to alter her pressures toward normal or should she have a combined laser filtering procedure? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Dear Sir, I have retina detachments in both eyes after surgeries I had eye pressure problems but on last visit to doctor on wednesday my eye pressure were normal 14 (Right eye) and 9 (Left Eye) I am using using Cospt, Alphagan, Xalatan( Twice a day and Pilocarpine 2% six hourly.
154668 tn?1290115995 I peeled back the label on the vial and read that it should be kept refridgerated between 36 and 46 degrees. Does that mean long term storage or does that mean that we need to keep them cold if we go out for the afternoon?
Avatar f tn I have always been under the impression that insulin should always be refrigerated. I am seeing a patient that receives lantus QD and Novalog TID. she does not keep the pens that are being used, refrigerated, only the unused ones. Although even though they are not kept refrigerated, they do seem to keep her blood sugars under control. I wonder though if they were refrigerated would that make a big difference? I will call her physician if necessary.
Avatar m tn I have had 2 visual field tests and and OCT carried out with results being normal. Should I be concerned. Since I have noticed my afterimages, they have been pretty stable with certain days being improved.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with glaucoma four years ago and was immediately put on Xalatan once a day both eyes. Two years later was taken off Xalatan and put on Cosopt & Alphagan, twice a day, Lumigan once a day, both eyes. For the past two years my diopter went from -4.00 both eyes, to -9.50 left eye, -7.00 right eye, as of today, in steady progression. I can already tell I'm probably not seeing 20/40 presently and need stronger contacts.
Avatar m tn The most common cause would be that you have a refractive error and need glasses for the best vision and to try and make the vision equal or near equal in both eyes. At 46 they would need to be a lineless bifocal type to work far, near and intermediate. Cataracts are not common at your age and glaucoma mainly affects peripheral vision not central.
1907191 tn?1468100974 We have holidays and plans, which of course if we were pregnant I would be happy to cancel, but it would still be a little awkward to be in the house the same time every day. Any advice much appreciated????
Avatar n tn Your increase of pressure is consistent with steroid glaucoma and that should be noted to all future physcians taking care of you. The medicines you took by mouth should not have caused this.
Panda Because most faucet filtration systems remove contaminants that are not likely to re-contaminate water unless it is mixed with unfiltered water, it should be good as long as refrigerated water, if placed in a closed container. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn t want to get into a big discussion on whether or not it is available. I just want to know if it NEEDS to be refrigerated. Does it? What if you don't keep it cool? I don't want to get into taking a med that needs this kind of special treatment because it opens the door for lessened potency, of course. Could someone get to the bottom of this refrigerate or not Thyrolar issue?
Avatar m tn On a shelf would be 40 degrees, which I thought might be too cold. I put mine in bottom vegetable bin which is about 50-60, depending on how many times door has been opened.
Avatar n tn The retinal specialist seemed to be a loss. He is now recommending a glaucoma specialist. We are not sure what to do.
Avatar n tn Novalog insulin vials have an expiration date stamped on the side. Unopened insulin loses their efficiency once this date is reached, even when refrigerated.
Avatar m tn With a pressure that high you should be on a variety of medications: something like travaprost, generic co-sopt, the new Vyzultra, if you can take it a beta blocker. What meds are you on? Now for the second part of your question a laser trabeculoplasty will not lower the pressure 19-20 points but it is much less risky and much less expensive than a gel stent. PLEASE LIST WHAT EYE DROPS YOU ARE ON AND WHICH ONES YOU HAVE TRIED THAT DIDN'T WORK.
