Avatar f tn I live in WA state and have been prescribed Oxycodone by my Dr twice. Each time I went to get the prescriptions filled I was told that they were out of it and it was on back order due to some problem with the manufacturer. I went to 3 different pharmacies and got the same story. Is there something I should know here? Also both prescriptions were subsituted with Hydrocodone which contain acetaminophen. Due to my condition I am not supposed to take anything containing acetaminophen.
1763947 tn?1334055319 I just saw an article today written by a Mom who is an MD in the Sacramento area and she wrote about Lyme Disease and tick awareness. Twice she calls it "rare." Doesn't she know that as soon as people hear "rare," they stop listening? Winning SuperLotto is rare. Clearly she is unaware that the nymph tick Lyme infection rate in some parts of CA are 30-40%. Pick up 3-4 tiny ticks in one of these areas and you're pretty much guaranteed to get it.
Avatar n tn s weird that there is a shortage in the states but up here in Canada we have no problem at all at least in Ottawa where i live. My pharmacy has never been without. I think once or twice they were short maybe 4 pills but got a new shipment in the next day. Truth be told I am not even sure where the pills i take are manufactured. They could be made here in Canada or in the States i have no idea. I should find that out.

Avatar f tn I will be actively putting on final steps for these Association over summer.. The purpose for patients is having groups of doctors in Florida to go to who are familar with Dys. They are all currently onboard. The next issue is education. Through this assocaitaion, all hospital and doctors starting in S. Florida will become educated and aware of tthis illness. They will now have a group of doctors through our Association who they can refer to. The website will aslo have info for patients.

Avatar n tn There currently is a national shortage of oxycodone. I don't know the reasons for it; some people may remember the lawsuit a year ago that resulted in the banning of generic oxycodone ER, and perhaps the brand manufacturer underestimated demand. At any rate, it has been a problem in many parts of the country. With a nod toward the concerns listed in the earlier posts, the closest thing to oxycodone available is oxymorphone, which is sold as Opana and Opana ER.

356518 tn?1322263642 Thanks Sandee. As you know I am very interested in the happenings in you state as it may soon be my state also. I've been searching for information regarding perscription fill denial in Bay County. I haven't been able to find any information on a law that was passed but I did find this comment on a newspaper article from your state entitled, "Bay County Sheriff's Office Investigates South Florida's "Pill Mills." This was dated March 23, 2010.
168348 tn?1379357075 I have read that technical failures on production lines is the cause of the vaccine shortage. According to the Health and Human Services Secretary, there will be enough vaccines available for the public by the middle of November.
Avatar f tn Hi. Sorry you're hurting. There are members who live in Florida but I'm not one of them. Hopefully one of them will be on later to answer your question.
Avatar m tn I work in FLL and live a little north of there and UM is not the most convienient trip to make. If you are in any sort of trial with them you'd need to make several trips down there. So, when you go for your appointment make a point to determine the degree of difficulty in getting there and back. Parking alone will make you nuts (opt for valet). Jeffers is well aware of the options and very knowledgeable of the trial game.
