I have short term memory and have had it most of my life, I cant work and i feel very ashamed because i cant remember directions or a number ive been told just after ive been told them. I was abused as a child, sexually, mentally and physically as a child. I have depression and have panic disorder. Would that have somthing to do with my memory beeing so bad?
hey guys, I was diagnosed with short term memory back in high school...teachers were made aware of this issue & I was given extra time to take tests/study. A few years have passed since then, but I find that I seem to be forgetting things quicker than I used to. For instance, I couldnt even remember the name of a movie I saw with my friend two days ago or our conversation....sometimes conversations hours after they have occurred. is there anythinng I can do to help improve my memory???

you might need to forget some of your most valuable memories to be able to regain your short term memory... Thats how computers work... when my computer starts running out of memory it gets a case of short term memory loss on a monthly basis!
t wake up in her usual time, lately she woke up and when I talked with her she was unable to answer me properly, she was having difficulties in short term memory, she was unable to tell me whether it is morning or night, I asked her what time is it she said its night, I asked then why there's sunlight if it is night then she get confused and said i dont know may be its evening.
My husband had a very large Pineal Meningioma Tumor removed 1-7-11. He has no short term memory. I believe in miracles but medically I feel/know his memory won't every come back. This is a rare situation as Pineal Meningioma Tumors are rare. The tumor was right in the middle of his head above the brain stem. He also had to have a VP shunt. His quality of life is so sad because he doesn't make new memories and has lost so much memory that he once had.
I have a severe difficulty staying focused. To the point where I can be having a conversation with somebody and the minute they turn around, I forget everything. I am afraid it is affecting my schooling as well. I can't remember much. Its like I have no short-term memory. what would you suggest I do? What type of medication can help me stay alert?
i am a 29 yearold malei was borm with Short term memory loss its really hard to learn anything, i get so uninterested so far into learning whatever it may be, its hard for me to find a job but the one i had for2 years in construction it was mainly me and my boss going to his rentals repairing them but when he needed me to get a tool or something from his truck id go get it and by the time i got to the tool bag in the truck i totally forgot what i even came out there for so i had to stand there

I am 28 yrs old. I have IC. I have been having recent short term memory loss. I do not use drugs nor have I had any trauma. What might be the cause of this. I am not having any other symptoms of anything but not able to remember things of short term unless they are significant. I can't remember things that I even did yesterday. worst part is that I do not have insurance to get to a doctor to have tests ran to receive help that I might need to help find out what I have going on.

Hello, Sarah. My husband (age 57) had a hemorrhagic stroke last year in July. The stroke mainly struck his eyesight. He now has double vision. His short term memory was affected but it has gotten a lot better. It is still very early in your moms recovery. I would say the short term memory will get better, but, how much is anyones guess. My husbands doctors never once said anything about Alzheimers. Find out what areas of your moms brain was hit.
Ok, So I was diagnosed in December 2012, after suffering symptoms of blurred vision, short term memory problems, and fatigue. I've had two mri's, the initial mri and one also to check for flow which wasn't too great. Then in January, my husband and I found that we were expecting our 3rd child which meant surgery had to wait, but also since I was able to manage my symptoms with a daily nap and had plenty of energy that surgery was up to me.
i have not had an accident but have short term memory loss from something that happened in my child hood mine fluctuates some days i can remember things a week ago other times i cant remember what i did over 24 hrs.
i have noticed that while i was taking vitamins i was remembering slightly more so i don't see why meds could do similar things like help or hinder.
well it sounds like everyone has said pretty much everything that needs to be said. i knew ambien was not intended to be used on a regular basis...but i had no idea so many people have short term memory loss from it....and just in this forum alone. that's a scary thought when you look at how many scripts are written for it and how many people actually do take it every night.
i hope your husband gets better...but just out of curiosity, didn't he know the risks since he is a physician?
