2083688 tn?1334605261 thank you factorymomma for clearing that up! i was reading and thinking someone had to stop the madness! i don't understand why you would resist a sneeze at all? its not like its impolite to sneeze or anything. not only that but they are so satisfying when you do! they actually say that sneezing is close to a tiny orgasm! i always figure you are sneezing for a reason. i don't understand why you would hold them back every time. so i challenge you to let the sneeze out and see how it feels.
Avatar n tn I am a 19 yo white female who has been experiancing excrutiating chest and right arm pain after sneezing. The pain starts in my upper chest, very similar to the pain experianced when one has a brochoncial infection and has been coughing for a long time. It racks around my chest cavity and is a very sharp, prolonged pain. The pain also moves down my right arm, stopping usually before it goes into my palm.
Avatar n tn APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AGO, I SNNEZED SUDDENLY AND FELT A sharp pain in MY chest. ALARMED, I WENT TO THE DOCTAOR AND A chest X-RAY WEAS PERFORMED. AT THAT TIME, THE X-RAY SHOWED NO REASON FOR FURTHER TESTinG. A SECOND SET OF X-RAYS WERE TAKEN A FEW WEEKS LATER AND ALSO SHOWED NOTHinG. SOMETIMES THE pain WOULD BE CENTERED AROUND MY STERNUM, NOT in THE BONE BUT THE MUSCLE.
Avatar n tn However, most chest pain that occurs with breathing and other chest movement is not cardiac in origin. However, if you have other medical conditions, chest pain can have other serious origins. You should contact your physician to discuss.
Avatar n tn Hi. I have a cold and everytime I sneeze, I get the sharp pains in my chest and down my arms. Wanted to know if anyone had any idea what causes this??
Avatar f tn I'm having chest pains again!! I'm concerned because I haven't been lifting weights and my chest pain had gone away from May. I've been feeling a bit congested and have been sneezing; maybe I have a cold? I've had sharp pain in the left breast (same spot as the other two times), dull pain in my right breast, some random, dull/light pains in my arms and left thigh, and some achiness in my lower ribs.
682891 tn?1226696230 I played football till i was 21, a few concussions, and two back surgeries for ruptured discs in my lower back, i am getting the same radiating pain after sneezing, starts in upper chest then radiates through shoulders down arms and into wrists, wrists probably hurt the most from it, I think its most likely caused from a disc still pressing on nerve endings or just damaged nerve endings from multiple surgeries.
Avatar m tn Hi FH, I am sorry to hear about your pain. I assume you have consulted your PCP. If not please do so...if you have what does he/she have to say? Palpitations can be normal for some of us and harmless (according to my cardiologist) if you have a healthy heart. But you need to know what these palpitations are caused from and have them diagnosed. Sore and painful "chest muscles" also have an causation. Have you been using them more so then normal....do you have a nasty cough?
Avatar f tn Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain. A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required. Of these pleuritis, pulmonary embolism (especially this) and pericarditis cause breathlessness as well.
Avatar n tn but they are really intense and makes you wince, scream and it scares the heck out of you. I would describe the pain as a quick, painful sharp squeezing across my chest. I can actually feel the pain in the glands of my neck for a second as well. Sometimes I feel it radiate to a small area on my left arm. They have happened when I am just sitting at a computer and when I am working out. I have started to sweat afterwards for a brief second (don't know if this is anxiety related).
Avatar m tn The thing is that everytime i coughed I would feel a sharp jab of pain in the right side of my chest. Can anyone tell me if this is something I should be worried about?
Avatar n tn I don't know which topic to put this under: allergies, nerve pain, or back pain? Every time I sneeze, a shocking "struck-by-lightning" type pain shoots through my upper back, up into my shoulders and collar bone, then down my arms and into the very tips of my fingers. Sometimes it travels towards my chest but stops just under my breasts. It is excruciating and lasts anywhere from 15 seconds to a couple minutes. It really feels like something is wrong and I am scared.
447939 tn?1235065543 Hey girl! OHH I so know how ya feel! Ive been having the "heart anxiety" again :( Ill get a sharp little "electrical" shoot thru my chest and it sets me off. I do get the "aching" arm when Im stressed, even w/o chest pain, but it still sends me in a panic. It just about ruined my bday weekend last weekend. But I have noticed I get it even when Im not stressed. So I have no clue really what its from :/ But I can def. relate and I fel for ya!
1953268 tn?1454818640 with your mom, explain everything that you've described here, and insist on having a chest exam. Green mucus can be a sign of infection. chest pain should never be ignored, and should definitely be looked at by a physician in order to rule out any thing serious. Years ago, I had symptoms much like yours, but I chose to skip the doctors visit and stay home. It turned out that I had bronchitis, then developed pneumonia.
Avatar n tn I'm ok sitting but if I have to cought or sneeze, the pain is severe and sharp. Deep breaths bring some soreness; but not the pain I get from sneezing, which is the worst! Also, trying to lean back or get out of bed, brings shooting, sharp pain. Any kind of activity using those muscles causes the pain to get worse. I don't have any swelling or bruising, not even right after the fall. Should I use ice or heat?
Avatar n tn I would be anything from schoolwork, to internet browsing, to watching tv, to eating, to even just laying down in the dark and I would get these intense sharp pains on the back of my head behind my right ear. This pain only occurs in this location and it comes and goes. At first the pains were simply a nuesance as they would come and go and weren't that bad, but lately they're getting worse causing me to stop what I'm doing until they go away.
Avatar m tn they didn't find anything on the priliminary check up. now I have some pain still exist under the left side of the left chest and take some oinment. what precautions & treatment I have to follow. please help me. Note: pain on sneezing, geting up from the bed without help, little pain when lifting the left hand.
Avatar n tn I can deal with that, but the last two days whenever I sneeze it is very violent and it is immediately followed by a very sharp pain in my chest that has me grounded and can't move. The pain lingers and spreads to my neck, back and down my spine. Sometimes the pain actually travels down my shoulders/arms and the whole arm feels like its deeply bruised with a constant throb of pain and then sort of numb next several minutes.
Avatar m tn I was continuing to have gastric issues and was tired of experiencing an upset stomach. About a week ago I awoke at around 11pm with some mild chest pain. Not crushing or tight, more like sharp cramping. I got worried that I was experiencing some symptoms of panic attack so I went to my cabinet and grabbed at 75mg Effexor tablet and took it. Three hours later I awoke with a very rapid heart beat, and intense ringing in my ears. I ignored and continued with a dose the next night.
Avatar n tn 2 1/2 years of disabling muscle pain in my neck, chest and back. 3 years of research and reading (after dozens of worthless doctor visits). Fixed myself. 99% pain fee now.
Avatar n tn i am 27 yrs old and i have been having sharp pains in the right side of my chest and pain worsens when deep breaths are taken, i currently take Nexium and i am over weight with High Colesteral which i take Lipitor for but i have recently stopped the lipitor due to constipation which was causing excessive bleeding with blood clots.
Avatar n tn Lately, whenever I sneeze, I get severe upper back pain in the center of my back. It feels equivelent to having a sharp object impaled into my back and hitting my chest and almost my lungs. The pains exists for about 4-6 seconds, then fades away slowly, but this is a recurring event. Is there any way to fix this, or is this a sign of a bigger health issue?
Avatar n tn over the past few months I have been experiencing many symptoms described in here - chest pains (sharp/dull), numbness in left hand, pain in back and neck, anxiety attacks etc. I have gone to see at least 3 doctors and all of them disregard my symptoms because of my age and because i am female, since males are more prone to heart related issues. This really frustrates me and I don't know what to do. I sometimes cry myself to sleep because I don;t know if I'll even wake up in the morning.
Avatar n tn I had similar pain for about two years now. My pain feels like a sharp bubble like pain that goes in the middle of my back, under my left breast, left shoulder, neck and sometimes my chest. I have been to doctor after doctor trying to find what is causing the pain. Does anyone else have this same pain????
