I have been addicted to pain killers for 6+ years. I've decided that enough is enough & I can't continue to live like this anymore. I am 3 days clean & currently going through withdrawls. I can not afford rehab, or have anyone to care for my children if I could afford to go. I don't know if wanting to quit & change my life is enough for me to kick this. My husband knows about my addiction, I went to him for help. He doesn't understand why I can't just stop.
I tried to get into a rehab but was turned away. I detoxed with the help of friends, enrolled in an IOP and went to mtgs. I still go to mtgs and stay active in AA. I have a sponsor and I sponsor others. For me it's not so much about where I go it's about what I do with the stuff I learn from being where I'm at.
I was somewhat active before the surgery and certainly was encouraged to do a cardiac rehab but go back to an active lifestyle. I am now running about 8 kms per day and the dr. says good.
Before and after surgery I walked 1 to 2 times per day for an hour or two and found it did wonders for me. Pace is important as you should try for about 60 steps every 30 seconds or so.

m in a monogomous multi-year relationship, and made the mistake, 2 months ago of having protected sex with a sex worker. Over the next weeks I developed a rash in my groin that was painful, red, and itchy that resembled jock itch. I am a heavy male, and sweat in that area. I went to my GP who assured me it wasn't herpes or an STD, and suggested that it was Tinea. I used lotrimin which seemed to help.
Anxiety has worn me down to a nub. My wife is pregnant.
Knee replaced 11-13-09. Finally felt I've been making some progress until yesterday. During therapy, performing lateral steps over 6" hurdles, I felt a sudden pain and kind of a pop on the interior medial aspect, a little toward the back of the knee. During the course of the day, I would experience sudden pain causing me to yell out, even when non-weight bearing. My wife appreciates this.
1) Do I have to inform my wife (from a medical viewpoint)? (I would probably lose her...)
2) Do I need to get tested?
3) Is there anything I can do or should I just drop the whole thing?

Did anyone see the rehab show last night. I can't imagine a rehab place letting women jump in a pool where it was so bad they couldn't show it on TV. I thought sex was not allowed in rehab and I considered that letting that happen was a big no no on the part of the rehab facility.
I also see that Daniel Baldwin wants to leave. I use to like the guy now I think he is full of sh@@. I also think he is using.
Don't they do blood tests to see if people are using??
Anyway, she is in a wheelchair. She can stand and take some steps with a walker but never really learned how to use the walker for long distances. Walking with it makes her very tired.
She very much wants to get out of the wheelchair. She saw a device called "walk aid" which costs four thousand dollars. Does anyone know anything about this??
She has had minimal physical therapy. Her neuro will not prescibe it and said to accept her fate in the chair.
i just wanted to give an update - for those of you who remember my previous posts my b/f is addicted to pain pills - loritab is his DOC and he went to inpatient rehab on october 27 2008..........well he came home on yesterday and i was able to attend a 3 day family program at the facility where he was at.......it was INCREDIBLE! and i am so thankful that i attended..........
Watching Heidi Fleiss was really sad.. I saw her on celebrity rehab where she retreated to the desert with a bunch of parrots! It was so sad bc you could see how much pain she was in.
Dennis Rodman was like watching a train about to fly off the tracks.. He kinda had the "im not an addict" mentality even while in rehab!
I KNEW Kim Richards was on pills and stuff... You could just tell. She went to rehab and looks like she's doing GREAT now!!
t until my X wife ended up in rehab for pills. I had been sober in AA and CA for near 30 years. A couple years ago I started taking Percocet with a prescription. After a year or so I was taking much more than prescribed, I found a friend who had access to street ones. As I supported my X through detox and rehab I found I was not sober and addicted to Oxy's myself. By the grace of God Pills Anonymous brought a meeting to her rehab and she went one night.
I get a script for Norco 10/325, and its supposed to last 30 days, I am out in 10 days, then have to look for them on the street. I have even had sex to get pills from people. this is crazy, im soooo tired of the merry go round. I dont want to even get out of bed if i dont have a pill. I used to be happy with just a couple beers. And yes, i have been to counseling, and AA, NA all that,even went to a revival and prayed for deliverance.
Acute care for rehab centers normally require a minimum of three hours rehab 5-6 days a week. When my dad was tested, he did not consistently respond to commands. I am positive that he could hear, and he responded some days much better than other days.
Keep telling your father that you are working on getting him to a higher level of care. Explain to him on a daily basis that you have to keep working on small steps of progress starting with consistent actions.
I am a male who recently (over the last week) had comdom protected sex with 3 different female sex workers for the first time ever. I received unprotected brief oral sex from 2 of them. I had anal protected condom sex with only one of them (as the giver not receiver). Within hours of the last one I had burning coming from my penis cosntinuily and it (has been going now for 24 hours). It started to health reason but then turned into not able to stop cause of I know will happen if I just stop them cold turkey! I am due to go into rehab any day as soon as I call them but I am scared. I have a 2 year old little girl andi have never be away from her and I can't get it out of my head I may die while I'm detoxing! My heath is very poor I am only about 100 pounds and I have very bad surger. I just can't pick up the phone to call to tell them I'm coming!
