this season is much better. They are showing much more of the reality of withdrawal. Last season....they really didn't show the ugly side. They made it look so easy. I wasn't happy with that. Much better this time. I love the show. Nauty.........

My doc told me it would be 20 weeks for me in the cast. He took my cast off after 11 weeks and did not give me orders for PT. I have excruciating knee pain, am unable to bend my knee, and am truly afraid to weight bear. I didn't require any surgery. Does any of this sound normal? I am an icu nurse and it just feels too soon to have the cast off, no walking cast or anything. Thanks for your time.

they only put it on for about 2 or 3 weeks to keep me from moving it around...he told me to do stretching exercises at home which I did...but having three very younger siblings I had alot I needed to do also. I'll take the brace off if that could be the case since i'm not a big fan of it in the first place. Do you think I should continue taking pain killers today and see if that helps?

my son got his cast off last week after scaphoid fracture, he had it on for 7wks, he wants to know if he can start playing football now with a support bandage on, it has healed up according to xray and physcio pleased with it

In general, you can break each stage into 2 week sections. But, this should have all been explained by your doctor, or rehab technician. They will start letting you add more and more weight, longer and longer walking times. You will start stretching exercises, then strengthening exercises. If I were to take a guess, I would say you should be able to do some light sports in the next 4 weeks.

I am pleased the awareness of epidemic drug abuse is being recognized, however, I am extremely disappointed in the complete lack of reality in the the VH1 Reality Show .... Celebrity Rehab...Season 3.

I think it is too early to remove the cast in your case. May be you can ask your doctor about plastic cast walker, which is much lighter and allows you to walk to some extent. Once full fracture healing is confirmed by the doctor, rehabilitation can continue with a physiotherapist. Hydrotherapy exercises are very helpful in regaining ankle range of movement. Best.

This is season 2 of the VH1 celebrity rehab. We all watched season 1 last year. It is a really good show and very, very informative...

My son, now 17, broke fibula (very low) in June 2009. Healed (we thought) with cast/boot. No followup xrays after bood in mid July 2009. Began play basketball again late August. Continued through end of December, when he rolled his ankle at practice and it broke again. Thoughts were was it ever healed or only held together with fibrous tissue? Went back into cast for 4 weeks, attempted to play basketball (healing was occurring, per xrays). Played for aprox 3 weeks until season was over.

I was 38 weeks with my second and my doc was planning to induce but I had sex and 2 days later went into labor the male's sperm releases hormones to causes the uterus to contract natuarally.

The orthopedist is pretty sure he broke his thumb by the growth plate. He is currently in a cast and is to be reevaluated next week to make sure it is broken and not sprained. Anyone catch the season finally last night?? Holy cow! I did not see that coming....it looks as if they are about to kill off my 2 favorite characters. I had really lost interest in Grey's about 2 season's back. But I still check in to see what is going on. I couldn't believe what they did! I did hear both those characters were not going to be on the show anymore, and they certainly picked dramatic ways of getting rid of them, or it looks that way.. What did you think?

Michael Emerson (Ben) was on the local NY radio this morning and he said that for last years season finale...the entire cast (except Evangeline and Matthew who were in the scene) was kept in the dark and they didn't have any idea about the flash forward until they watched it on television at the same time we did. He said he was jumping up and down screaming at the television because he couldn't believe how brilliant it was. I'm so excited I feel like a little kid at Christmas.

My 2 Favorite shows share the SAME time slot and they're season premieres are both at 9 PM EST. I am torn between watching The Office and Grey's Anatomy season premiere. I have recently been terribly bored by Grey's.

She has to wear a boot for 8-12 weeks. If the orthopedician wants to go ahead with a below knee cast for 4-6 weeks then go ahead. She has to avoid weight bearing and follow all instructions of her orthopedician for a speedy recovery. Take care!

This is another PBS show I've watched from day one. It's a great show, a GREAT cast, the plots are very "adult," and it's historically correct and period perfect. One does need a love of all things British, which I have in abundance, to really get into this type of programming. Last seasons finale still has me in a state of shock.

i got out of 30-day treatment for opiates, then fractured my wrist the next day and back on percocets. i am getting my cast off tomorrow and am out of pills except for a couple. i have klonopin. clonidine, lyrica and neurontin. am very scared- can't believe this happened. should i take one-half percocet along with other drugs to help withdrawal? i am mostly scared of extreme depression i get with withdrawal.

t cast it because of the location (the doc said any cast that could help would have to be a full leg cast and that the rehab would even be longer than not casting it) and that the tibia would act like a cast and it should mend in a few weeks. Weeks went by, but nothing showed the fracture closing.

After the surgery the pain did not really go away, I did rehab, I went to physical therapy but it just got worse and worse. After running a full track and basketball season I couldn't take the pain anymore and asked them to go in again, and they found a horizontal cleabage tear that had been there for nearly a year... So I'm now 18. 5 cortisone shots in, 2 knee surgeries down, and I've been diagnosed with mild/moderate osteoarthritis and only have 50% joint space left.

What joint was involved? Knee, shoulder, ankle...? Much depends on the severity of the injury, the patient's own immune system, and the patient's dedication to rehab. One thing for certain, that joint will never be the same as it was before the injury. He will certainly have good use of it, but it's going to be painful for a good long while. The physical therapy is the most important part of rehab. Unfortunately, it HURTS.
