gas

hi Doctor i have been having this stomach bloating and cramps for over a year now, and i suspect i could have a disease or condition which has not been diagnosed by doctors. the problem started over a year ago during one night where i suffered from watery black diahrrea along with excruiating stomach cramps. this diarrhea and stomach cramps lasted for around 3 days, i was even woken up by the extreme pain in the middle of the night and i had to drive myself to the A & E.
I had a colonic irrigation last week to help reduce bloating, it wasnt serious bloating i just thought that i might acheive a flatter stomach. However immediately after the colonic irrigation and ever since i have experienced severe bloating, especially after a meal, i look pregnant and it feels hard with such pressure that it is very uncomfortable to move and i feel like i have to take deeper breaths. I would love if anyone could shed some light on this, please help. Thankyou.
All of that was believed to have gotten back to where it needed to be but the severe bloating isn't gone. My husband has stopped taking all pain meds except for Advil beccause he is afraid of what damage it can do. We are out of options....what do you suggest?
Eating fatty foods, stress or anxiety, a gastrointestinal infection, GERD, blockage or disease, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease all can lead to bloating of stomach. Foods like cauliflower, brocolli, carbonated drinks, cabbage, lettuce all can lead to excessive gas formation. For mild heartburn, over-the-counter antacids may be helpful. If the symptoms are severe see a gastroenterologist and get the condition diagnosed. Hope you find this information useful. Take care and regards!
My husband is 60 years old. For the past one week there is bloating of stomach which is increasing . Though he passes stools, he doesn't feel evacuated. there is no belching or flatulance. He had vertigo a month and a half back and is still on stugeron, vertin and stemetil. he is a BP patient and diabetic but both are well under normal limits under medication and walking. since he could not go walking for the past one month because of vertigo, initially we thought the stomach bloating is tummy.
I have severe bloating after eating too (as well as many other symptoms) and was just diagnosed with gastroparesis. Has he had a gastric emptying study done? Or gallbladder HIDA scan to check for GB disease?
persistent bloating. Comes on gradually, then it is as something is growing inside. Yogurt, stomach medications offer no relief. Must avoid certain foods at all costs(beer, wheat, nuts) when this comes on, but I have already cut out those altogether anyway. At the height of it, wake up in a sweat, suffer from dizziness and mental cloudiness. Sometimes systemic reactions -- flu-like symptoms (extreme fatigue, pain, intestinal stress).
Hi I have been on a celiac's diet for about 12 years but I seem to be experiences a lot of bloating and gas for some time and the only help is to not eat. I have tried almost everything from yeast treatments for doctor's fluconazole or diflucan and non doctor prescription of yeast gone which is a yeast cleanse. I have through the years avoided sugar products, bread products, grain products and milk products, but it doesn't seem to matter what I still have lots of bloating. Need help.

What are some causes for severe and chronic bloating? I've had this for years and this year, I've really noticed. Even though my weight is the same, I've noticed that my stomach distends so much that I can no longer wear the same shirts without it showing off my stomach area. I have a long history of health problems--most noteably MS diagnosed in 2007. As far as GI problems, I've had a history of this for many years. In 2008, I had an episode of severe bleeding--probably about 1/4 cup full.
I have had numerous tests in the past two months including an ultra sound, CAT scan, upper and lower GI, camera pill, and even had my gall bladder removed. All tests come back normal. I have extreme anxiety and severe bloating and nausea daily. I can poop usually once or twice a day, but stools are dark and sticky or totally liquid. My doctor wants to put me on anti-depressants, but I am not depressed.
in one of my adrenal glands but the doctor said it is nothing and not related to my symptons but is going to order a MRI. Could this be related at all? Does IBS cause severe bloating and swelling and never goes away? Why can I not get any relief?
Never had any kind of STD symptom, no burning, no discharge, no rash, nothing. About a year ago I began having stomach issues, severe gas, bloating, diarhea, constipation. Dr. ran all sorts of test with no diagnosis other than possibly IBS. Recently my wife began experiencing similar symptoms. Could this be the result of some sort of bacterial STD that has laid dormant for this long? Any with similar experience???
over the past several days everytime I eat i get lots of heart palpitations right after. I have had alot of stomach bloating and constipation for several months. Is there anyway that the stomach can cause heart paplitations? By the way the palpitations have been checked and are benign.
I suffer from anxiety and Upper Gastric IBS in the form of stomach bloating. I take Omeprazole for the acid/reflux. I also have a thoracic/ lung tension disorder...possibly related to the anxiety (?) I am at times distressed by excess lung mucous, which causes me some degree of breathing panic...my lungs seem somewhat over sensitive and I sometimes cannot 'catch' the top of my breath...until I belch.
I am suffering from severe bloating, gas, and extreme constipation following a 10 hour procedure to remove 2 tumors. The surgery took place over 6 weeks ago, but I cannot eat very much food; a small half bowl of rice and a little soup will leave me painfully bloated. It feels like my stomach is going to explode. Externally, my stomach has expanded so that I cannot fit into any of my pre-surgery pants. Internally, my stomach seems to have drastically shrunk.
She has been through more tests than I have, and they haven't figured out why she looks 6 months pregnant by the end of the day. We started sharing our mutual SEVERE bloating stories and come to find out we both our taking thyroid meds. Along with this severe bloating my thyroid has grown back to its huge size Iam tired all the time and have gained about 10 pounds. TSH is in the low side of normal now. Any suggestions or anyone have the same problems?
I've been getting pretty severe stomach aches (starting around 5 months ago) only before meals, it's definitely not just normal hunger as I'm eating the same amount/stuff I've always had. The pain had been just below the belly button but lately its near my lower right abdominal. Even after I've eaten I get a acidic feeling in my lower throat maybe 30-90 mins post meal.

Five years ago, I got very ill. The symptoms were mono-like (severe nausea, strep throat), but the tests kept coming up negative. I was sick for several weeks. So sick that I lost twelve pounds. I was prescribed several antibiotics until I finally kicked it. I considered myself digestive problem free until right after this. I suffered from constipation, gas, bloating, nausea. It was all unrelated to any food that I ate. The doctors suspected IBS.
I I'm concerned I might have some form of stomach cancer but a 2008 endoscopy was negative only gastritis in the lower part of stomach. All may symptoms developed after using antibiotics for 6 month period for tonsillitis. My concern is the trouble breathing.
The synthroid is helping with hypo symptoms, but I don't think I can handle the bloating anymore. Are their certain foods that interact with it? Does anyone have any ideas on another med I could take that does not have the side effect of bloating?
