By the 2nd day my throat had gotten more sore, and today and yesterday (now day 4) my sore throat has progressed to a much more painful sore throat. It usually doesn’t hurt until I try to swallow my saliva, or if I try to eat/drink. It hurts extremely bad when I swallow and feels like I’m swallowing razors all the way down. The more I swallow, the more it hurts. I thought it would’ve eased by now, but it still hurts just as bad as it did the day before and before that.
I have a horrible cavity that need to be taken care of but we do not have the funds as my husband lost his job. I noticed a lump on the left side of my throat Thursday and about 4 or 5 hrs later I became ver I'll with aches and chills. Now, my throat is sore, my ear hurts and my mouth is burning. I wouldn't be surprised if it was swollen shut tomorrow being that I can't open it too much now. The lumps about quarter size now and is extremely tender.
I thought I had strep. My only symptoms at the time were a fever and a severe sore throat. The quick test came back negative. They took a culture sample which later came back to be negative. Since then, my throat has not been better, but I no longer have fevers. I do not have other symptoms.
The only problem is that my throat is so bad, that I can not swallow anything including saliva or even food. I can manage to drink water though.
m experiencing a scratchy sensation in my throat for last two weeks. There is no severe pain but just a scratchy sensation. I have severe throat pain on left side mainly underneath jaw and at bottom of throat. Seems to be set off by acidic foods, or swallowing bulky rough items. I have never had a sore throat like this before -- I have no other symptoms no cold, no runny nose, no cough etc. It has not gotten any better after a kind of 2 day onset 6 days ago. Yawning really hurts severely.

I don’t think your symptoms are related to fibromyalgia. From your symptoms of ear pain and sore throat on one side of throat it can be due to Eustachian tube dysfunction. For each ear, a eustachian tube runs from the middle ear to the back of the throat and when this tube is blocked then it may cause fluid build up in ear and infections. You can get an examination done from an ENT specialist for these possibilities.
I've never done a test in the past because I had no reason to but ever since last year august when my boyfriend and I did it for the first timea couple days after I had a severe throat pain and and on my over thighs as well I didn't go to the doctor until months later and they ran a blood test and said I had too much calories. m not a doctor but a sore throat with testicular pain can be caused by Strep B. A severe sore throat is one symptom of strep B.

By sunday morning I had a huge sore throat, it burns, feels swollen, hurts when I swallow and it actually feels a lot like tonsillitis. The thing is that it's summer where I live and given the circumstances I'm starting to believe this dude may have had gonorrhea. If that was the case, should I be able to notice such severe symptoms in such little time?

hi ! i have gotten cold from this weather. and i had sore throat running nose cough fever (very low) went away after taking panadol xtra. my fever and sore throat went away but my cough runny nose and chest congestion with white mucus still exists. i started taking tylenol severe one time no effects. then i read the description and it said 2 tablet every 4 hours. i took 2 tablets ate my food and went to sleep. this morning when i woke up.
She then put a mask over my nose and mouth. I woke up with the worst sore throat of my life. My throat was blood red and it hurt to talk, cough, breath and swallow. I've had strep throat many times and the pain was nothing like that. I gargled with warm salt water, took throat lozenges, etc. and nothing helped. Woke up the next morning and my sore throat was completely gone but could barely talk and my my jaw was sore and bruised. I still have severe larangitis four days later.
I have had a sometimes severe sore throat for over a month. Had a scope put down my throat and the doctor says everything is normal....no growths, nodules, infection, etc. He suggested that maybe I had a virus and to come back in 6 weeks if the pain was still there and then he would repeat the procedure to see if there was a change. The pain does lessen sometimes but then comes back with a vengence. Mostly it is on the right side and, of course, the ears are also involved.
