Avatar m tn I juts had a synvisc one injection 2 days ago. i went for a walk today and started to experience pain at 15 minutes into my walk. Pain was worse than before I had the injection. My doc indicates that my pain is not severe enough to have the knee replaced. Maybe it hasn't been long enough for the injection to work yet, however, I wouldn't expect the pain to be worse. Anybody had similar results. FYI I am 67 years old.

Avatar f tn A couple of weeks ago I elected to try a cortisone injection into the knee. I did notice a slight improvement for about two or three days, but after that things have gotten much, much worse - I'm having more pain and mobility issues that I was before the injection. My surgeon and I have discussed trying a Euflexxa injection at my next appointment (in 1 1/2 weeks).
Avatar n tn t have to feel it!). The injection should give me pain relief for about a month so I can use my left shoulder while I recover from the scope. If at a later date the left shoulder becomes an issue again, we'll deal with it at that time.
Avatar n tn My husband had the Synvisc One shot in June 2011 a month after his knee surgery. He had to be admitted to the hospital for three days and he could not move from the shoulders on down. He then gt shingles from all the predisone. It is now on year later and he was diagnoised with reheumatoid arthritis. He takes all kinds of medications and still in alot of pain. The doctors said it was because of the shot.
1622835 tn?1299093105 I had a cortisone injection in my knee 2/7, I have had really bad pain and swelling in my knee and have been developing chest pain, shortness of breathe, bloating, muscle weakness, fatigued, severe dizziness but feels like I am being shocked all the time, severe nausea, mild face swelling, chills, mood changes and vision changes since off and on. Now for a week straight all the symptoms are continuous and crippling.
Avatar f tn My left was done in Janurary 2007 and my right knee was done in July 2007. Since the surgery I have had severe pain espically on the outside of the right knee. I have pain in both knees and limited movement in both. The pain has not gotten any better with time. I did have an injection of steroids about 6 months ago that helped some but things have not gotten any better since. Has anyone else had this sort of problem?

Avatar n tn Immediatly after the injection one of my knees actually started to buckle. I have had pain in both knees since. I called my MD who recommended to ice them. Last night my knee felt like it popped out. I have read all the side effects and this does not seem to be the norm. I have a appointment with my Orthopedist today. I am very reluctant to have the next set of shots next week. I seem to have more pain now then I did prior to the shots..Both knees are increadably stiff as well.
Avatar m tn I got a cortisone shot to my left knee, more specifically to my IT band, this was last monday, its been almost a week since, the day after the injection was horrible, i developed severe pain over night, and it was really hard to bend the knee or walk, the pain has subsided little by little, but its still painful, specially when going up or down stairs, or when bending my knee.
Avatar n tn after a torn meniscus surgery in august severe pain and swelling still. took another mri showed another tear but new surgeon states trauma from torn meniscus surgery in august would only make another surgery worse. suggested pain management. pain management injected left side of left knee with kenalog and marcaine, pain was relieved tremendously.
Avatar m tn Hi Charley, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. What type of epidural do you mean? Are you inquiring about a steroidal injection into your spine, hip, knee joint or other area? If you are asking about the steroid injections into a joint or spine the pain releif can last from days to months. In some ppl after several injections the effects can last for years. Much depends on the location, the specific condition, the skill of the practitioner and how your body responds to the treatment.
Avatar f tn Today, on Friday, March 24th, 2023, the regular lower-left back muscle spasms have returned. I no longer feel spasms on the right side, though the sharp, aching pain from the left side radiates over the spine to the right side when the pain is severe.
Avatar n tn For my third injection he seemed to hit the same spot as in the first and second series. I did NOT get the calf pain and it did help my knee pain. This is just a guess on my part, but I think if the doctor does not inject it into the correct spot that it goes into the muscles and not the joint.
Avatar f tn I took my first Humira shot in my leg on Monday and last night my leg began to hurt really bad. It is a pain that is hard to describe. I told my husband it was a "bone pain" it hurts down deep in the bone from my knee to my hip joint. Today it is hurting mostly in my hip joint.I take darvocet daily for pain and it really isn't helping and neither is naproxen. Is this normal after the first few days of the injection?
Avatar n tn I just completed the three injections in the knee, over three weeks. My orthopedist numbed the knee first by injecting Novacaine and this worked great. I had no pain at all with the Synvisc injections. There was no swelling or other side-effects. In fact, I went shopping today after the injection. My doctor said it would take about a month before I would notice any benefits of the Synvisc, but honestly it feels better already, I think from the first injection.
Avatar m tn He is having severe (and I mean real severe) pain just below the shoulder blades. MRI, FNAC test are non suggestive. His blood and other related tests came out normal. The pain is there for about a month. I earnestly request medical professionals to kindly suggest me what should I do. my email is fosiul.
Avatar n tn I like the rest of you am suffering with severe knee pain. I took a physical just the day before the TB test and my knee was fine. The next day I took the TB test and a couple days later my knee started hurting so bad and swelled. I am using a cane now to get around and I am headed to the hospital to see what is going on. No one could tell me that this test does not react in certain people and cause joint pain. I believe this goes to the weakest part of your body and causes issues.
1367233 tn?1316104535 Synvisc is a lubricating substance that works inside your knee joint. Adding lubrication helps to diminish the pain and discomfort of the arthritis. Synvisc works only locally. It doesn't go into the blood and doesn't have any negative effects on the liver. I am not aware of the degree of your liver damage. If you have severe liver disease, your platelets may be very low. In this case, knee injection may cause bleeding.
Avatar m tn I just finished the third set of injections; you will feel some pain during the injection into the knee. The cold numbing spry helps when then injection starts, however you feel a slight amount of pain from the pressure of the fluid passing into the knee, the pain goes away pretty fast. If you need fluid removed from the knee this is unpleasant. Extra fluid in the knee makes it hard to bend and causes additional pain.
Avatar f tn The pain is often described as a “shooting pain” or an “electrical shock kind of pain.” It can also be associated with numbness in the same area. Some patients have both numbness to the touch and shooting pains down the inner thigh. The diagnosis is usually a “clinical diagnosis.” That is to say, CT scan or an ultrasound test (for example) will not show irritation of the nerve.
Avatar f tn Why is it that the Drs try to get you off pain meds when that is the only thing that keeps me sain, I do not think one of any of these Drs has ever had severe knee pain because they would certainly not be doing that to their patients! If anyone has any answers to my questions or can put me in the right direction please, please let me know!
Avatar m tn i had an arthroscopy 5 years ago and never really recovered so that i dont have any pain, but been running and playing sport etc. Doctor gave me a euflexxa injection on thursday and felt fine after. about 17 hours later i woke up with excruciating pain and stiffeness. It is now 3 days later and i havent really recovered from this and getting a bit worried. if i rest my knee for too long it totally tightens up, but if i do excercises like walking up and down the stairs it feels ok during rest.
Avatar f tn The left knee joint was not as painful. After I felf pain relief. However, when I awoke yesterday both my knees where the injection was given , as I bent my knee, felt crackly. The right knee now "catches" as I walk-almost like something got dislodged. What is going on? I will see my doctor Monday cause he was not in. I am afraid to get the other injections now. Is this normal to feel my knee joint crackly like this?
