Common Questions and Answers about Severe acne rosacea

acne

Avatar n tn I went to a dermatologist and they said that i might have dermatitis or acne rosacea. So they gave me a wash called rosula, and locoid lipocream (hydrocortisone butyrate .1%) to use morning and night. I have used both for a few days but i dont think i see any progress. Would a facial serum help strengthen my facial skin? Is the medication they gave me the right stuff? Are these signs of prerosacea?
Avatar n tn My mom and I researched it and were convinced it was rosacea, but I went to a dermatologist and she said it was acne scars and put me on all of this treatment. But I'm still stuck on the rosacea thing, because I just can't understand how all of these "acne scars" would have popped up overnight and spread around. And I have ZERO pimples on my face, it's just redness and spots. So isn't it pointless to put me on acne medication? I can post pictures if needed.
Avatar n tn However one morning about 3 years ago I woke up and my entire face was beat red and the acne severe, It literally happened over night. I have used everyface wash imaginable from over the counter to infomercials and proactiv. I have been to 3 doctors and no one can tell me what it wrong with my face. I have had to help aside from a witch doctor trying to tell me I had a hex put on me but even her remedy didn't help (im desperate).
Avatar n tn Isotretinoin may be considered as a treatment option for all forms of severe or therapy-resistant rosacea. Sunscreens, particularly those that protect against ultraviolet A and B light waves and have a sun-protecting factor (SPF) of 13 or higher, are recommended for all people with rosacea. It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for this and then decide the cause and further plan of management. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.

Avatar f tn ve struggling with what some doctors stated is a rosacea. I break out after I eat anything spicy all over forehead, cheeks, all around the nose and hairline. I get the same result if I drink alcohol or am exposed to severe cold wind, temperatures, workouts. Do I have rosacea or is this some sort of dermatitis? I keep going to different dermatologists, but they prescribe me creams, pills and topical treatments. Although the condition gets somewhat better, the skin never completely clears.
Avatar f tn I suggest you get a second opinion done as acne ,rosacea, folliculitis and dermatitis may need to be differentiated from one another. Refrain from exfoliating as this may irritate the skin and aggravate the condition.
Avatar m tn I want to ask if you think this could be rhinophyma or rosacea because everywhere on the Internet it says that rosacea is a condition that only affects middle-aged people.
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be rosacea. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder primarily of convexities of the central part of the face , such as forehead; cheeks ;nose; and chin. Pimples are sometimes included as part of the definition. Treatment options vary from antibiotic creams, antihistaminics, sun screens to laser treatment.A dermatologist’s evaluation will be the best. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Hi Dr. I'm a 27 yr old female. I went to my dermatologist today because my cheeks have been red for the past couple of days. I also have some hair loss, fatigue, and my feet get cold. I have a low thyroid and I was told those were symptoms of my hypothyroidism. My question is the redness of my face is flat, on both cheeks, and doesn't have acne on it. I don't think that's a symptom of hypothyroidism. I'm scared it could be a lupus malar rash.
Avatar n tn Hi. What is your son's diagnosis? If he has acne or rosacea a course of oral antibiotics from his doctor may be effective. Clinique have lauched a new range of products called Redness Solutions. Using their cleanser and moisturiser will reduce visable redness of the face. I also recommend Eucerin's Redness Relief cleanser and moisturiser, which is a bit less expensive.
Avatar n tn My acne consists of stubborn non-inflamed acne as well, but I was under the impression that non-inflamed acne remains colorless (well white or black comedones) until it becomes inflamed. An esthetician attempted to extract the bump that was injected but it just proceeded to get bigger and stay under the skin. Do you have any ideas for me?
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 25 year old female who has been struggling with acne and itchy skin for 5 years now. I've been to several dermatologists that debate the diagnosis of Rosacea or just sensitive skin. I've been on all types of topicals and antibiotics with no relief from the itch. My face itches and feels tight practically everyday and seems to come and go in bursts of intensity. Some days it feels completely normal and then instantly becomes itchy and tight feeling.
Avatar m tn Hello, Unfortunately the pictures could not be opened but from the symptoms, rosacea needs to be ruled out. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder primarily of the central part of the face , such as forehead; cheeks ;nose; and chin. I agree with your dermatologist that in the absence of lupus, rosacea is an important possibility to be ruled out and you need to get a biopsy skin done to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn ive got a problem with my skin when ever i try work out i have to stop because my skin gets too hot and i cannot sweat which leads to my skin having extreme itching/irritation on my face and back..ive used retin a before because i had acne could this be the problem? or could be ive been on antibotics for 3yrs? or a problem with my sweat glands?
Avatar n tn Around 15, I took accutane and that fully cleared it up (along with acne). Once off, the Acne stayed away but the red, itchy, flaking dermatitis returned. From around 16-21 the flaking was contained to the sides of my nose. Now, at 24, it has moved to my eyebrows and toward my cheeks. My dermatologist has kept me on a regime of part cortisone lotion, part anti-fungal lotion since I was 18. While this seems to lessen the dermatitis, the flaking is still persistant, and seems to come in cycles.
Avatar f tn Acne rosacea is a potentially serious eye condition that can lead to difiguring scarring of the nose and face and cause severe eye irritation. Anyone with moderate or severed Acne Rosacea should see a dermatologist for clinically tested prescription medicine. I looked at Somaluxe.
Avatar f tn Can you tell me if Steroid-Induced Rosacea will every go away completely? I was prescribed a fluocinonide solution for a small patch on my face. Now that I have stopped it completely, small bumps have appeared where I was putting the topical solution. The doctor now prescribed Doxycyline for 1 month and Metrogel 1%. There has been improvement, but very slowly with 2 flare ups so far. It has been two weeks since I stopped the steroid completely. Will it ever go away?
