My second question regards SSRI withdrawal symptoms. After about a week off of zoloft I suddenly started feeling extreme anger. Over the last couple of days I've been dissociating a lot--my usual reaction to extreme emotions--and I feel full of rage. The other withdrawal symptoms--dizziness, lighthededness, crying jags--began almost immediately as I tapered off.
After stopping serzone for anxiety, my husband had a reaction of severe insomnia after trying Lexapro for 3 days. His doctor suggested bipolar and put him on Zyprexa but is weaning him down gradually. He's on 7.5 mg currently. What side effects can we expect if he doesn't really have bipolar (which is our opinion) from this medication? We know the most common ones, but what if he is not truly bipolar? I can't wait for him to get off of it, but he is sleeping soundly again.
I am 38, I had a complete Major Vegatative Depression in 1997, and was more lor less bedridden for 6 months - Nothing worked for me except SERZONE ( Now Called Nefazodone ) I have been on this Medicine for 11 years - I have struggled with Depression BIGTIME and only ever worked for my Father and my Myself, I could work at my own pace and about 20 hours per week for Dad till 2005, then I quit because I was not relaible due to my Symptoms that have always plagued me, I hate the Morning, I sleep ab
So, bottom line is this, I have been off Celexa for 7 days - after 20 years of being on medication. I am experiencing some physical withdrawal symptoms - day 3 was the worst, as I felt as though I was in another dimension and was very nauseous. I now have some cold like symptoms as well and still feel slightly off balance physically. Mentally I feel fine - I am functioning as normal.
By the time I see the doctor, it will be 11 days without medication.

with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?
It started off as only visual symptoms, limited to my left eye. Just before I went on Serzone for depression, they started to get worse. I would see flashes/streaks of light, ghosting, halo's around backlit objects, increased floaters, the odd inability to maintain focus when looking anyone in the eye. And not for nervous reasons. Over the last few years, the previous symptoms have evolved into new ones which follow.

Hey friend!!! Congrats!!!!!!! Isn't it great? We never thought it would end! I've been wondering about you and you're off! Me too! I got off 17 days ago. I'm so thankful it's out of my life now. I also had been taking over the counter natural sleep aids, like melatonin and valerian and stopped all of those 3 days ago. I only got 4 hours sleep each of the last 3 nights, but it was REAL sleep, brought to me by my very own natural body produced melatonin!
My boyfriend is on day 6 of taking no pain killers. He has been on it for years after a shoulder surgery. He has all the symptoms of withdrawal that I have read about. He hasn't told the doctor that he is addicted. Out of all the withdrawal symptoms the sleepless nights is what he can't handle. So he asked for sleeping pills. I first thought it was good idea because all of this is foreign to me but now I think it's a bad idea.

I believe that when I try to stop, I go through symptoms of withdrawal. feeling of gloom and doom, anxiousness, headache, hyper sensitivtiy to smell, panic and anxiety. I have never used drugs, smoked cigs etc.. I have had many major life stressors which is why I was perscribed the medication. My question is what is, our my symptoms because life is truely getting more difficult? or am I going through withdrawal? ug.. any input appreciated.
