serzone ssri

I had NO side effects back then. My doc is thinking we will try serzone. Does serzone work similar to remeron? If remeron works will serzone likely work when all these others just make me worse? I'm so frustrated.

There are many choices for anxiety and it takes trial and error to get the right combo. I suggest Nefazodone (Serzone) in a light dose at first, ramp to 150mg BID, Serzone doesn't have any any of the side effects of Paxil. There are known liver side effects for Serzone though and must be carefully considered with current liver function + follow liver functions while on it.

After stopping serzone for anxiety, my husband had a reaction of severe insomnia after trying Lexapro for 3 days. His doctor suggested bipolar and put him on Zyprexa but is weaning him down gradually. He's on 7.5 mg currently. What side effects can we expect if he doesn't really have bipolar (which is our opinion) from this medication? We know the most common ones, but what if he is not truly bipolar? I can't wait for him to get off of it, but he is sleeping soundly again.

She wants me off any sort of benzo except for possibly .5 mg to use as PRN and to switch the Serzone to Celexa. The Serzone has black box warnings about liver issues and is banned in many countires. I've been on 20mg of Celexa (generic) for 4 wks now and thought i felt better after the 2nd week, but now I know its not working. Again I've lost my appetite, feeling uneasy, down and worried ( I also feel like I need to take the Klonopin I got which is making me drowsy and more depressed). I will see my doc in a few days. Will he increase my dose or give me a new med? This is my first med and now feel more depressed ever that I might never get out of this rut.

with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?

He suggested that this is autoimmune in nature and that an SSRI may help. i tried Prozac for a week once and some of my endocrine bloodwork went wacky (prolactin level was 165, normal is no higher than 30 and I was having hot flashes) Have any of you had any luck with an antidepressant in this class? My primary doc is reluctant as he says i am not depressed, although the situation can be depressing.

Is ssri weight gain dose dependent?

My second question regards SSRI withdrawal symptoms. After about a week off of zoloft I suddenly started feeling extreme anger. Over the last couple of days I've been dissociating a lot--my usual reaction to extreme emotions--and I feel full of rage. The other withdrawal symptoms--dizziness, lighthededness, crying jags--began almost immediately as I tapered off.

The doctor decided I should try another SSRI. Which makes sense cause I have read a lot of blogs where people have had their SSRI "poop out" on them over time. I started the Zoloft on 25 mg for the first week and went down to 10 mg of the Paxil the same week, then 50 mg Zoloft the next week and 5mg Paxil, the following week I stayed at the same 50 mg Zoloft and went to 2.5 paxil. During all of this time I had the horrible side effects from starting and withdrawing from SSRI meds.

Can you take an ssri antidepressant forever or will it eventually not work because of tolerance build up? Is tolerance even an issue with an ssri? if you do build a tolerance, then can you only take a ssri until your tolerance builds to the point where you would have to take more than the allowed maximum prescription? so what are you to do if you need an ssri forever and the amount you need is above what is safely prescribed?

After the sampling of the many MEDS. over the years, I settled on Tenormin and Klonopin ( mostly PRN now after the institute of an SSRI/SNRI ) again, after so many trials of different meds. Sorry, for such a long post but I wanted to clarify "my" specific conditions/symptoms, so I can maybe get some help/advice from others in this forum in the same horrific boat.

Maybe do a google search and see if there are any foods that might have the same properties of the SSRI, or maybe even other drugs that are related. I would also call my pharmacist and ask him/her, they should know if nobody else does as drugs are their area of expertise.

I just signed up to this forum. I have never done anything like this before. But, I really need help. The irony is I am a master's level therapist, and have been for many years. I believe I may be suffering so I can relate and better help my clients. I am in practice with a psychiatrist, but have not told her of this. I guess I am embarrassed. Anyhow, approx. 3 years ago a physician friend prescribed PAXIL for my mild OCD symptoms, my own diagnoses.
