Serzone replacement drug

Common Questions and Answers about Serzone replacement drug

serzone

Avatar n tn I had NO side effects back then. My doc is thinking we will try serzone. Does serzone work similar to remeron? If remeron works will serzone likely work when all these others just make me worse? I'm so frustrated.
Avatar m tn with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?
1432927 tn?1283546704 There are many choices for anxiety and it takes trial and error to get the right combo. I suggest Nefazodone (Serzone) in a light dose at first, ramp to 150mg BID, Serzone doesn't have any any of the side effects of Paxil. There are known liver side effects for Serzone though and must be carefully considered with current liver function + follow liver functions while on it.
Avatar n tn I am 38, I had a complete Major Vegatative Depression in 1997, and was more lor less bedridden for 6 months - Nothing worked for me except SERZONE ( Now Called Nefazodone ) I have been on this Medicine for 11 years - I have struggled with Depression BIGTIME and only ever worked for my Father and my Myself, I could work at my own pace and about 20 hours per week for Dad till 2005, then I quit because I was not relaible due to my Symptoms that have always plagued me, I hate the Morning, I sleep ab
1115705 tn?1258815104 She wants me off any sort of benzo except for possibly .5 mg to use as PRN and to switch the Serzone to Celexa. The Serzone has black box warnings about liver issues and is banned in many countires. But, overall it did give me my life back. There seems to be trend in my area against the use of benzos. I am hoping to hang around here a bit as we slowly step through this process. The wean down from Klonopin began three nights ago with generic Remeron being the subsitue.
Avatar f tn After stopping serzone for anxiety, my husband had a reaction of severe insomnia after trying Lexapro for 3 days. His doctor suggested bipolar and put him on Zyprexa but is weaning him down gradually. He's on 7.5 mg currently. What side effects can we expect if he doesn't really have bipolar (which is our opinion) from this medication? We know the most common ones, but what if he is not truly bipolar? I can't wait for him to get off of it, but he is sleeping soundly again.
Avatar m tn Hello, I am taking a very low dose of nefazodone because I'm prone to having serious side effects from most meds, especially anti-depressants. When I increased to 75 mg and then 100 mg, I started to have horrible acid reflux. I'm currently taking Dexilant in combination with Carafate and, as needed Zantac, to try to control the reflux. I'm still experiencing serious discomfort until several hours after taking nefazodone.
Avatar n tn A well-qualified psychiatrist will have more training in managing anxiety, but they may also want to explore other options for you since this seems to be a long-term drug that helps you with your condition. Good luck, and call right away. You can do a search on this forum under xanax tapering or reduction to get a better idea on the amount you should be reducing by. Dropping by .5 mg. when you've been taking a total of 2 mg./day is a bit too aggressive, in my opinion.
Avatar n tn Does Serzone cause weight gain and how does it affect your sex drive. This is my first time on this forum and looking for some answers.
Avatar m tn Yep, copaxone does seem the safest. It was my drug of choice but I was unlucky as I reacted badly to the glatimer acetate (think that's the correct spelling1) I think that's quite rare though. Just to point out though, the drugs don't ALWAYS damage your body. well, at least I hope they don't anyway as I'm about to start on rebif!
Avatar f tn Hi there, I just finished reading your comments. Are you taking any prescription medications of any kind ? Some prescription medications have a light headed feeling as a side effect. You said you have had phases of depression. During those phases of depression, did your doctor prescribe antidepressants? Many years ago, one doctor put me on a certain kind of antidepressant. I took that antidepressant for several years. Then for whatever reason that antidepressant stopped working for me.
Avatar f tn Has anyone out there found a replacement for Darvocet that works? So far they seem to be pushing Tramadol. It does not work for me. I have tried it twice. Doctors seem to be leery of 3 page narcotics. Not because I can't take them , but because of the drug police (gov.) . I get my pain meds from one Dr. I have never been addicted to any med. I have several problems that cause pain. To the point I cry and I have a high pain threshold. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. Synthyroid is a thyroid replacement drug which provides the body with only the T4 form, where as Armour thyroid supplies with both T3 and T4 forms of thyroid. Side effects are usually associated with over dosage and they are vomiting, convulsions, coma, heart failure, hypoglycemia etc. Discuss with your physician regarding this and follow her advise. Best.
Avatar m tn I did have this problem many years ago, which is when I was originally given Ambien, and put on an anti-depressant (serzone), which helped. I have been stable without the Serzone for a long time. I decided to start taking B12, and Magnesium (oxide, crappy absorption) yesterday, and my mood improved somewhat, and some of the obsessive sensations I mentioned earlier have lessened. I have gone through several days of crying spells, missed work, and hopelessness.
563594 tn?1309583132 Obviously my body has become dependent on xanax in just 8 months. what a ridiculous drug... I am really not looking forward to the next month. even the month after that... I hope these symptoms don't drag on forever for me, already going through enough with the norco withdrawal, mentally at this point. however, my stomach is still not quite normal yet...45 days later..?? I think I just have an irritable stomach, anxiety makes it worse, and I'm living in anxiety h3ll...
Avatar n tn Not a question............but maybe even MORE important for AF sufferers. new drug with so far good test results. Announced 13July 2008 See following report: http://cardiome.com/wordpress/?
Avatar n tn My question is this, how in 2009 can we not have a drug that can make you pain free or at leat reduce the pain to uncomfortabe?
Avatar f tn I know where you are coming from, after living there and seeing how wide spread coke is through the social groups within pubs and so on, i think if it is the only ruling drug, cold turkeying it is safe.
Avatar f tn Sub is not a wonder drug it can be a positive tool towards recovery but without recovery care like counseling or aa/na if can easily become a replacement for your DOC ...When you put the two together then it can be very effective tool towards recovery .What were you taking and how much of it ..
Avatar f tn I am experiencing a number of side effects. Is there a replacement drug available? I am scheduled to see my Retinologists mid Sept, so I will ask these questions also, just interested in another opinion. If the edema is not a result of surgery, what other causes could there be? I do not have diabetes.
612551 tn?1450022175 My idea is that you try that very slowly replacing the metoprolol with a CCB like verapamil and see if that works first and foremost clinically. If it does continue to try this replacement. Another idea is that you might try a light dose of an SSRI. Sometimes vivid dreaming is associated with mild depression or serotonin imbalance. I'm not sure if the BB might be having this effect, but it's a possibility. Strangely enough SSRIs can make for vivid dreams too.
