Serzone mdl

Common Questions and Answers about Serzone mdl

serzone

Avatar n tn I had NO side effects back then. My doc is thinking we will try serzone. Does serzone work similar to remeron? If remeron works will serzone likely work when all these others just make me worse? I'm so frustrated.
Avatar f tn I want to go straight to IgeneX but I guess if my new doc (who I really like so far) thinks we should start with MDL and insurance will pay for it, will do that. If I continue to feel bad and MDL is negative, I will pay out of pocket for IgeneX. I wonder how much I need to prepare to spend out of pocket for IgeneX? Everything is so expensive and money isn't growing on trees!
1432927 tn?1283546704 There are many choices for anxiety and it takes trial and error to get the right combo. I suggest Nefazodone (Serzone) in a light dose at first, ramp to 150mg BID, Serzone doesn't have any any of the side effects of Paxil. There are known liver side effects for Serzone though and must be carefully considered with current liver function + follow liver functions while on it.
Avatar m tn So I had a test thru MDL and had 4 IGG bands, one which was Lyme specific and 1 IGM band. But I also had every band show even faintly which was under there percentage to make it a positive. Now my question is would someone that truly does not have Lyme disease have any bands pop up even if they were faint?
1115705 tn?1258815104 She wants me off any sort of benzo except for possibly .5 mg to use as PRN and to switch the Serzone to Celexa. The Serzone has black box warnings about liver issues and is banned in many countires. But, overall it did give me my life back. There seems to be trend in my area against the use of benzos. I am hoping to hang around here a bit as we slowly step through this process. The wean down from Klonopin began three nights ago with generic Remeron being the subsitue.
Avatar f tn After stopping serzone for anxiety, my husband had a reaction of severe insomnia after trying Lexapro for 3 days. His doctor suggested bipolar and put him on Zyprexa but is weaning him down gradually. He's on 7.5 mg currently. What side effects can we expect if he doesn't really have bipolar (which is our opinion) from this medication? We know the most common ones, but what if he is not truly bipolar? I can't wait for him to get off of it, but he is sleeping soundly again.
Avatar n tn I am 38, I had a complete Major Vegatative Depression in 1997, and was more lor less bedridden for 6 months - Nothing worked for me except SERZONE ( Now Called Nefazodone ) I have been on this Medicine for 11 years - I have struggled with Depression BIGTIME and only ever worked for my Father and my Myself, I could work at my own pace and about 20 hours per week for Dad till 2005, then I quit because I was not relaible due to my Symptoms that have always plagued me, I hate the Morning, I sleep ab
649848 tn?1534633700 One thing I have been thinking about a lot recently, is that we all, myself included, complain about doctors not getting on with the new TSH standard - when it is actually the labs that need to make the changes, isn't it?
Avatar n tn Does Serzone cause weight gain and how does it affect your sex drive. This is my first time on this forum and looking for some answers.
Avatar m tn with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?
Avatar f tn I got my lab results back from MDL lab and I can visually see that the only bad that was positive was band 41. But they also checked for co-infections and I have IgG and IgM for babesia and mycoplasma. Forgive me if I have already posted this but I'm exhausted and worried. The only thing my doc mentioned doing is treating me with monolaurin. He mentioned that I could send for labs from IgeneX (so he is a think-out-of-the-box doc) but I am worried about the $1000 price tag.
2128874 tn?1335442182 The first two can be tested at basic labs but Lymes can only be tested correctly at MDL , IGENIX labs. Follow your gut and don't settle for a blanket diagnosis of FM. Five drs. Validated my FM diagnosis and may be right but time will tell when I finish treatment for the diseases that exasperate my symptoms.
3191241 tn?1345032381 Get tested properly for Lymes at IGENIX Or MDL labs. Other labs do not have the capability to do the testing intricately enough to detect Lymes. Find a Lyme literate doctor first.
Avatar m tn I did have this problem many years ago, which is when I was originally given Ambien, and put on an anti-depressant (serzone), which helped. I have been stable without the Serzone for a long time. I decided to start taking B12, and Magnesium (oxide, crappy absorption) yesterday, and my mood improved somewhat, and some of the obsessive sensations I mentioned earlier have lessened. I have gone through several days of crying spells, missed work, and hopelessness.
Avatar m tn It started off as only visual symptoms, limited to my left eye. Just before I went on Serzone for depression, they started to get worse. I would see flashes/streaks of light, ghosting, halo's around backlit objects, increased floaters, the odd inability to maintain focus when looking anyone in the eye. And not for nervous reasons. Over the last few years, the previous symptoms have evolved into new ones which follow. Extreme sensitivity to moderately bright lights.
Avatar f tn So again reference labs like IGENEX Labs in California or perhaps MDL in NJ - I cannot vouch for MDL as I have no experience with them, just positive comments from people- would you know, being from there? Dusty, OMG, where have you been all this time. You are a treasure! I've been on the A/I and FMS for a few months - never crossed paths with you somehow. Geminigirl1963, I wish we could invent a Fibro simulator and put those Doctors in it for a few days- or a few weeks- LOL!
Avatar m tn I'm in the US. Lab used is MDL (Medical Diagnostic Laboratories). They did a two tiered test - ELISA first and then Western Blot. Zero bands on IGM, only 1 band on IGG - band 41. My "open to discussion/holistic" doc said that based on this, I do NOT have Lyme. Many, many thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I just finished reading your comments. Are you taking any prescription medications of any kind ? Some prescription medications have a light headed feeling as a side effect. You said you have had phases of depression. During those phases of depression, did your doctor prescribe antidepressants? Many years ago, one doctor put me on a certain kind of antidepressant. I took that antidepressant for several years. Then for whatever reason that antidepressant stopped working for me.
Avatar n tn The only cause I thought later that might have been was I was taking generic serzone (since they took the name brand off the market for liver damage), but I'm not sure if the medicine I tooke was why it happened. It was said to be unusual to have one on my liver by a doctor, but not harmful. It is a collection of blood vessels.
Avatar n tn But my understanding from reliable sources is that it is in the same class as Serzone which was pulled off the market due to liver toxicity. Just because Trazadone is still out there I don't believe it is completely safe for everyone. If Serzone is in the same class and pulled off the market, wouldn't you be cautious with the others in the group and drug companies have a tendency at times to withold data.
Avatar n tn The two labs that I have read good things about are MDL and Igenex. My test went to Igenex. Regarding a doctor near you, there is a poster here "wonko" who lives in your state. You may want to pm her and see is she can help you with this.
362971 tn?1201987034 Has anyone heard of or seen any studies about any drugs affecting viral load? I was wondering what other people have heard. I saw somewhere on a post on this Forum that they took Viagra during treatment. because of its affects on them. I took it occasionally myself because during treatment my HGB was so low I think it affected me. Anyway it helped and I was wondering if it could affect my chances of SVR. Here is a link I found and what this person has to say about it.
