Serzone headaches

Common Questions and Answers about Serzone headaches

serzone

Avatar n tn I had NO side effects back then. My doc is thinking we will try serzone. Does serzone work similar to remeron? If remeron works will serzone likely work when all these others just make me worse? I'm so frustrated.
1432927 tn?1283546704 There are many choices for anxiety and it takes trial and error to get the right combo. I suggest Nefazodone (Serzone) in a light dose at first, ramp to 150mg BID, Serzone doesn't have any any of the side effects of Paxil. There are known liver side effects for Serzone though and must be carefully considered with current liver function + follow liver functions while on it.
1115705 tn?1258815104 She wants me off any sort of benzo except for possibly .5 mg to use as PRN and to switch the Serzone to Celexa. The Serzone has black box warnings about liver issues and is banned in many countires. But, overall it did give me my life back. There seems to be trend in my area against the use of benzos. I am hoping to hang around here a bit as we slowly step through this process. The wean down from Klonopin began three nights ago with generic Remeron being the subsitue.
Avatar n tn She is naseaus, feel full after eating very little, pain right after eating, has headaches after exercise, and her taste has been off. An ultrasound was done and all was found was a liver hemangioma. She has been on acid blockers for the last week but they aren't really working. The doctor says it wouldn't be the hemangioma causing pain. Any help is appreciated. I am afraid the doctors will just try to send us on our way with no answers to this.
Avatar f tn After stopping serzone for anxiety, my husband had a reaction of severe insomnia after trying Lexapro for 3 days. His doctor suggested bipolar and put him on Zyprexa but is weaning him down gradually. He's on 7.5 mg currently. What side effects can we expect if he doesn't really have bipolar (which is our opinion) from this medication? We know the most common ones, but what if he is not truly bipolar? I can't wait for him to get off of it, but he is sleeping soundly again.
Avatar n tn I am 38, I had a complete Major Vegatative Depression in 1997, and was more lor less bedridden for 6 months - Nothing worked for me except SERZONE ( Now Called Nefazodone ) I have been on this Medicine for 11 years - I have struggled with Depression BIGTIME and only ever worked for my Father and my Myself, I could work at my own pace and about 20 hours per week for Dad till 2005, then I quit because I was not relaible due to my Symptoms that have always plagued me, I hate the Morning, I sleep ab
Avatar n tn Does Serzone cause weight gain and how does it affect your sex drive. This is my first time on this forum and looking for some answers.
Avatar m tn with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?
563594 tn?1309583132 I too have had anxiety issues for years, most of it has to do with my busy and hectic lifestyle, I have stomach pains I can work myself to the point of nausea, rocks in my stomach, headaches, heart palpatations, so I feel your pain. I've learned how to deal and dealing with it while detoxing is not a walk in the park. I wish you the best of luck and vent all you want, that's why this forum is here....
Avatar m tn It started off as only visual symptoms, limited to my left eye. Just before I went on Serzone for depression, they started to get worse. I would see flashes/streaks of light, ghosting, halo's around backlit objects, increased floaters, the odd inability to maintain focus when looking anyone in the eye. And not for nervous reasons. Over the last few years, the previous symptoms have evolved into new ones which follow. Extreme sensitivity to moderately bright lights.
Avatar f tn about my heart beat i think that somethings wrong too!! i get massive headaches that last for strong periods of time sometimes i think im going crazy.i've had a kidney infection most of my life that never seems to go away im really scared about that! i have gone to my local hospital several times and they tell me im fine that nothings wrong but if thats true then why is this still happening? please help me????
Avatar m tn I did have this problem many years ago, which is when I was originally given Ambien, and put on an anti-depressant (serzone), which helped. I have been stable without the Serzone for a long time. I decided to start taking B12, and Magnesium (oxide, crappy absorption) yesterday, and my mood improved somewhat, and some of the obsessive sensations I mentioned earlier have lessened. I have gone through several days of crying spells, missed work, and hopelessness.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I just finished reading your comments. Are you taking any prescription medications of any kind ? Some prescription medications have a light headed feeling as a side effect. You said you have had phases of depression. During those phases of depression, did your doctor prescribe antidepressants? Many years ago, one doctor put me on a certain kind of antidepressant. I took that antidepressant for several years. Then for whatever reason that antidepressant stopped working for me.
Avatar f tn I started on antidepressants when I was a teenager. In the span of 6 years I was on an entire host of antidepressants, with an intramuscular injection (during a hospital stay) being the only thing that made a noticeable difference. And that was, of course, temporary and transitory. I recovered on my own and was off meds for 9 years. Two years ago events led me to seek treatment again.
Avatar n tn But my understanding from reliable sources is that it is in the same class as Serzone which was pulled off the market due to liver toxicity. Just because Trazadone is still out there I don't believe it is completely safe for everyone. If Serzone is in the same class and pulled off the market, wouldn't you be cautious with the others in the group and drug companies have a tendency at times to withold data.
Avatar n tn I am also suffering from horrible headaches. If anyone out there can tell me what they did for the severe nausea and debilitating headaches please tell me, (I am desperate and I will try anything) except I am not going back on my full dose of Effexor and I am getting off of this EVIL ADDICTING DRUG!!!! Please share any and all suggestions please!
362971 tn?1201987034 Has anyone heard of or seen any studies about any drugs affecting viral load? I was wondering what other people have heard. I saw somewhere on a post on this Forum that they took Viagra during treatment. because of its affects on them. I took it occasionally myself because during treatment my HGB was so low I think it affected me. Anyway it helped and I was wondering if it could affect my chances of SVR. Here is a link I found and what this person has to say about it.
Avatar n tn I would recommend you speak to your primary care provider about the possibility of using an alternative medication to the TCA, possibly Wellbutrin or Serzone. I would not stop taking any of your medications without the express guidance of your doctor or prescriber. Also, Lyrica, marketed by Pfizer Inc.
1128643 tn?1262483649 Prozac, Zoloft, Effexor, amitryptiline, Paxil, trazadone, Serzone...all but MAOIs. They either had no effect or the averse effects outweighed the positive (zoloft kept me afloat by making me numb to all feelings altogether). Finally, in 2003, I was in a study for treatment resistant depression and Lexapro quite literally saved my life. I was later switched to Celexa for financial reasons. I had no problems transitioning and have taken it for the past six years.
681148 tn?1437661591 Also, if you suffer from high blood pressure, which I believe can contribute to causing migraine headaches, getting that under control might help alleviate your chronic migraine situation some. I hope for success on your new preventative!
Avatar m tn Did any of you enter a half-sleep half-awake state, where you feel conscious, but yet dreams, etc... are going through your mind as if you're sleeping? I laid there for 8 hours like that last night. I'm not sure I was actually addicted. But I did take 1/4 pill (10mg) fairly frequently over time (months), sometimes jumping to 1/2. This sleep disturbance is very real, however. I've convinced myself there's something wrong with my brain. I haven't taken any in about 5 days.
