serzone and weight

Hi. I'm on tamoxifen so I can't take any meds which inhibit cyp2D6 enzymes. I've been on almost ALL SSRI ( Effexor, lexapro, celexa, nortriptyline, fetzima, & viibryd) & my depression worsens with them (suicidal thoughts, etc). The only one that has helped is remeron but every time I've had to return to remeron I gain weight. I'm usually 110-112 and eat very well & workout almost everyday.

Does Serzone cause weight gain and how does it affect your sex drive. This is my first time on this forum and looking for some answers.

Side effects of Lyrica including sleepiness, dizziness, blurry vision, weight gain, trouble concentrating, swelling of the hands and feet, and dry mouth. Lastly, Paxil can also be associated with weight gain. Again as stated before Wellbutrin has a lower incidence of weight gain . The average weight gain with paroxetine (Paxil®) for someone who weighs 150 pounds is about 5 pounds. Some people can gain much more.

There are many choices for anxiety and it takes trial and error to get the right combo. I suggest Nefazodone (Serzone) in a light dose at first, ramp to 150mg BID, Serzone doesn't have any any of the side effects of Paxil. There are known liver side effects for Serzone though and must be carefully considered with current liver function + follow liver functions while on it.

t - What works for you or others did not work for me, the ONLY relief I got from my Major Vegatative Depression was Serzone, and only 200mg a day at that, that is all I ever took. I tried, Paxil, and laid awake literally for 2 weeks straight, tried Zoloft, Noritryptaline, Pamelor, Triavil ( Trilofon ?

She wants me off any sort of benzo except for possibly .5 mg to use as PRN and to switch the Serzone to Celexa. The Serzone has black box warnings about liver issues and is banned in many countires. But, overall it did give me my life back. There seems to be trend in my area against the use of benzos. I am hoping to hang around here a bit as we slowly step through this process. The wean down from Klonopin began three nights ago with generic Remeron being the subsitue.

After stopping serzone for anxiety, my husband had a reaction of severe insomnia after trying Lexapro for 3 days. His doctor suggested bipolar and put him on Zyprexa but is weaning him down gradually. He's on 7.5 mg currently. What side effects can we expect if he doesn't really have bipolar (which is our opinion) from this medication? We know the most common ones, but what if he is not truly bipolar? I can't wait for him to get off of it, but he is sleeping soundly again.

I have tried paxil, effexor, wellbutrin, zoloft, and lexapro. I gained weight from all of them. I really have gad and not much depression. I wish I could just take ativan but of course can't. I go to the dr. on Tuesday and would like to get a prescription. I am currently taking 5htp and doesn't seem to help much. What do I do?

Turns out it is BARDS and slight damage has been done. You want to watch how this progresses and follow up if it doesn't do away with the med changes.

I have always been depressed. I have struggling to lose weight since I was 10 and never accomplished. I am 20 now and its terrrible i havent done it. I stress over little things and everything. Thats the only thing that keeps me going. Im so nervous and "what if" everything. I have an impacted wisdom and im afraid of the surgery because i am afriad i wont wake up from the surgery. Thars just an example. I dont know where it came from or why it happened.

with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?

I am suffering from depression but I have Long Qt and am obese , diabetic and have svt's my GP has been unable to find any medication that is suitable - do you have any suggestions?

I did have this problem many years ago, which is when I was originally given Ambien, and put on an anti-depressant (serzone), which helped. I have been stable without the Serzone for a long time. I decided to start taking B12, and Magnesium (oxide, crappy absorption) yesterday, and my mood improved somewhat, and some of the obsessive sensations I mentioned earlier have lessened. I have gone through several days of crying spells, missed work, and hopelessness.

I have been having progressively worsening visual symptoms for years now. It started off as only visual symptoms, limited to my left eye. Just before I went on Serzone for depression, they started to get worse. I would see flashes/streaks of light, ghosting, halo's around backlit objects, increased floaters, the odd inability to maintain focus when looking anyone in the eye. And not for nervous reasons. She is naseaus, feel full after eating very little, pain right after eating, has headaches after exercise, and her taste has been off. An ultrasound was done and all was found was a liver hemangioma. She has been on acid blockers for the last week but they aren't really working. The doctor says it wouldn't be the hemangioma causing pain. Any help is appreciated. This time after day 4, I got hit in the middle of the night with horrible anxiety, agitiation, pacing and I was sweating profusely. I took my .5 mg of Klonopin which settled me a bit, but the next day, I felt like I was on the verge. My doc told me to take 1 mg of Klonopin and that settled me down. The next day I was better, but discontinued the Prozac and went back to .5 of Klonopin. I can't believe that a medicine can react to you totally differently when you restart it.

5mg of Xanax 4 times a day about 8 years ago and my blood pressure has been fine since. I went to a new doctor to establish a new family physician relationship and get needed refills. Every refill, including lower back pain muscle relaxers and pain medication, was filled exactly as they had been with the exception of Xanax. This new doctor arbitrarily reduced the prescription to 3 times per day. I didn't find out until Medco mailed my prescription to me.

I have experienced withdrawl from every AD medication that I have ever taken, this includes Zoloft, Serzone, and Cymbalta just to name a few. I agree, it is a very nasty feeling. I get very light headed and experience Vertigo really bad during withdrawl. Headaches and nausa are also very common. Hello there, Cymbalta is a SNRI which mean it will affect your serotonin level but also your norepinephrine level which can be translated into adrenaline which results into a energy boost and less pain. I am on Cymbalta and Lyrica for chronic nerves pain due to compression of the suboccipital triangle causing pressure on the C2 originating nerves resulting in occipital neuralgia and myofacial pain.

s weird, because a migraine preventative that worked the longest for me was a different SSRI (also made me gain weight), serzone generic (I understand the name brand was taken off the market... Serzone caused liver damage being the reason).

s a possibility. Strangely enough SSRIs can make for vivid dreams too. I was on one once (serzone) and I rather enjoyed the dreams though.

I agree with Greenlydia that you should find a primary care physician so that they can get to know you and help you with your anxiety and also get to the bottom of you kidney infections. I used to get bladder infections and then kidney infections when I drank a lot of cokes. I drink lots of water and juice now and rarely have a coke. I was hospitalized twice as a child to see why I had kidney infections all the time.

My migraines started in my 20's with indescribable pain. I started herbal treatment then with quite a bit of success. However after so many years of use and even though I cut back I think I developed a tolerance. With numerous migraines I experience visual disturbances which really freak me out if I'm driving and otherwise disrupt my life in general. Just about every day I feel pain and the sun is way too bright.
