I had NO side effects back then. My doc is thinking we will try serzone. Does serzone work similar to remeron? If remeron works will serzone likely work when all these others just make me worse? I'm so frustrated.

There are many choices for anxiety and it takes trial and error to get the right combo. I suggest Nefazodone (Serzone) in a light dose at first, ramp to 150mg BID, Serzone doesn't have any any of the side effects of Paxil. There are known liver side effects for Serzone though and must be carefully considered with current liver function + follow liver functions while on it.

After stopping serzone for anxiety, my husband had a reaction of severe insomnia after trying Lexapro for 3 days. His doctor suggested bipolar and put him on Zyprexa but is weaning him down gradually. He's on 7.5 mg currently. What side effects can we expect if he doesn't really have bipolar (which is our opinion) from this medication? We know the most common ones, but what if he is not truly bipolar? I can't wait for him to get off of it, but he is sleeping soundly again.

Turns out it is BARDS and slight damage has been done. You want to watch how this progresses and follow up if it doesn't do away with the med changes.

with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?

I have been on SSRIs on and off for last six years for GAD and depression ... None of them has really helped me ... I went to my doc and he prescribed me Luvox ... that was the only one I have not tried ... Now the problem is I have extreme fear of taking SSRis due to horrible stories that I have heard that they may cause permanent sexual dysfunction also known as PSSD ... Upon much reflexions, I came to identify my OCD as psychosis and not OCD, i.e. i use to do wrong things (not washing hands regularly like OCD do or open then close the door or afraid from touching things) but mainly it was racing thoughts which my old pdoc took it for OCD and now i know it's symptoms of BP. So perhaps your husband is never OCD rather BP only with much racing thoughts. In the book it also says (wikipedia too) that for BP to be discovered by pdocs often takes a decade.

i have read your other posts about hiv anxiety and i think you have ocd, ocd can change its themes in your case it has changed from hiv to your relationship, i think you should consult a psychiatrist

In this book it said to explore the "unknown". The only way to stop suffering is by "not caring". Does anyone find it true that the more you care about what your fear is the more likely it is to become true. No matter how many times you check, the fear never goes away.

Hi dr Sean, could you please answer my question. 3 weeks ago I had to inspect a drug rehab clinic and while there I shook hands with 2 workers. I had a 5 day old cut on my index finger and some dry skin on the back of my hand. I always put band aids on cuts until they're gone. But didn't this time. I didn't see if the people I shook hands with had any cuts on their hands or not. I didn't see any blood or fluid on my hand after. And I was not bleeding.

I feel so horrible and all I went to do is confess…But I know that will only make my OCD worse and then I’ll find something else to fixate on and confess to that and then constantly needing reassurance its just a crash and burn kinda thing..Its almost like paranoia that he is somehow going to findout..these are where alot of the irrational thoughts come to play..Please help….Dont know what else to do anymore.

Nope. I have't tried any meds. My therapist doesn't know much about OCD. And he can't help me. I am searching a new therapist with experience in OCD. It's very hard break HOCD.

OCD is OCD. If it's not necessary and it really is OCD, which we don't know from your post has been diagnosed, it's treated the same as OCD would be in anybody and the blood disease is irrelevant.

I don't think your OCD is totally out of control. You probably just posted the question several times for extra verification, right? I can really understand what your talking about. I also have OCD, and I'm a girl, but the same sort of thing happens when we ovulate.

When I say it like that and really think it through, I can see that it is more than illogical. It is OCD and OCD is fear. Fear of the unknown, and the uncontrollable. In the situation you described above there is zero risk of infection. None. At all. You preceived there to be a risk, but I can assure you there was none. You have to know the facts. HIV is a fragile virus. Becoming infected by casual or enviromental contact is slim to none.
