Avatar m tn I'm a 30yr old male. I was on Sertraline approx 10 years ago for depression and it seemed to work until a crash. For one reason or another over the years, my treatment has changed several times. It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.

Avatar f tn So I'm on 50mg sertraline day 4 and on my last night of taking 15mg mirtazapine tonight after being on it a week and one day and feel it wasn't doing anything for me only getting me to sleep at night and feel rubbish the next day it wasn't lifting my mood just hope that these new sertraline will do the job, my main question is why am I twitching all the time?? Is it the mirtazipine or sertraline?
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me Sertraline 25mg on top of my existing med. The first day I took Sertraline I got stomach upset and diarrhea; reduced to 12.5mg now. I m suffering side-effects like I'm having a fever(fatigue, sweaty, chills at times). On top of that, my menstruation's cramp is exceptionally bad this time, not sure it was affected by Sertraline. I am not sure this med would help me anymore. Hope someone could induce more positive effects about Sertraline.
Avatar f tn Been put on 50mg today after being on mirtazapine for 10days and it's not agreeing with me at all so my question is wen is best to take morning or evening as the doctor never said when to take only once a day Thanks
Avatar m tn Hello, I need help to understand how this antidepressant work for anxiety and potentially will lower my HR/BP.
Avatar f tn I have been on Sertraline (Zoloft) for over 2 months now, for depression that's borderline bipolar, and I am still yawning and have gotten TMJ. I also keep having to take deep breaths until I can't take in any more air- not yawning-; I am clenching my jaw a lot still and having to open my mouth as wide as I can- again, not yawning- which makes me look a liiiiittle crazy! Anyone know of anything that might stop or alleviate these problems?
Avatar m tn I too notice a difference in how I feel taking Zoloft vs. Sertraline. I like Sertraline better though because I don't feel as numbed out and my sex drive is not affected.
Avatar n tn ) I left a message with the psychiatrist, who is sending my GP a prescription for mirtazapine to add to the sertraline (150mg) and pregabalin (300mg) I already take. He thinks this will help with the anxiety and depression, but it's obviously not a quick fix - I will have only been on it for 2 days by the time I'm due to leave, and I have no idea how I'm going to react.
Avatar m tn After a few years my doctor switched me to Sertraline, and for the first time , I began to get tremor, an annoying peri-oral sensation with some mild jaw tremor and severe bruxism. That was 2 years ago. After quitting sertraline, all these went away, but the depression came back, so I tried Moclobemide, ending up with ever more severe side effects and more anxiety as well.
Avatar n tn I had to stop taking Mirtazapine last night as the side-effects I was getting from it are apparently rare and will not go away. I have already taken Citalopram, Sertraline and Mirtazapine for my anxiety but didn't get on with them. I have a phone appointment with my GP this evening and would feel better knowing I had an idea what medication might work best for me. I don't want to take Prozac or anything that will make sick/vomit, dizzy or mimic other anxiety symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've suffered with depression since having my son 17 years ago, I've been put on many different meds, prozac, sertraline, dothiepin, amitriptyline, mirtazapine, citalopram, I'm now on Viepax XL 75mg (since yesterday) and was wondering how well they work for people? as I don't want to be changeing meds every 5 mins.
Avatar f tn To get about the same result you had with Nefazodone with no weight gain I would recommend sertraline (Zoloft) combined with Wellbutrin XL. To get a significant antagonizing effect to your 5-HT2 receptors you would need mirtazapine but it is related with weight gain so I would try the Zoloft with Wellbutrin XL which will basically in a SNDRI like Nefazodone and see how it goes.
574042 tn?1217656418 Mirtazapine (Remeron) causes no gastrointestinal problems, sexual dysfunction, or insomnia over the long term, but difficulties are likely to occur early. Patients should be advised that while somnolence at the start of therapy may be "overwhelming," it usually lasts only 2-3 days. "You need to counsel patients to stick with it," he said. Increased appetite and weight gain also may be marked in the first stage of therapy but will generally plateau after 2-3 months.
Avatar f tn //www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-13706-4047/mirtazapine-oral/mirtazapine-oral/details/list-sideeffects That's a huge list but remember that while rare can happen, that if something is listed as rare, it likely won't.
Avatar f tn Anyone else experience excess sewating on sertraline been on it 10days now 8days at 50mg an 2 days at 100mg I.
1166402 tn?1303847056 I want to try another med for my GAD. I'm currently taking mirtazapine (22.5 mg) and celexa (20 mg). The celexa never worked so he added the mirt. then had to reduce it due to mouth sores and my WB count being too low (rare side effect) Now I would like to drop them both and try something else. I just want to take one pill and get stable for a yeart or two and maybe get off of them. How about Effexor? Zoloft?
Avatar f tn even when I went on the mirtazapine. My Dr. prescribed xanax for me and it helped hold me until the mirtazapine started working. I also take 30 mg. at night for depression.... I couldn't tolerate anything - made me agitated...
Avatar f tn Depends on your md but zoloft and wellbutrin( no clue how to spell that) are frequently prescribed to pregnant women. Also depends on how severe the depression is a risks vs benefits thing. As far as anxiety not really sometimes anti depressants help. My md said take benadryl, it doesn't make you less anxious but makes you sleepy...
Avatar n tn Paroxetine (Paxil) may be more likely cause a significant weight gain than other drugs of this type (like fluoxetine or sertraline). Studies about citalopram found no significant weight changes for most patients (but a minority of about 5% of the patients had a weight gain of more than 5 kg). Now let us look at some other antidepressants: Buproprion (Zyban) reports weight loss in the course of therapy (caused by antihistaminic effects).
Avatar f tn It really helped me for a couple of years. Withdrawal was minimal. But the 2nd round I took it for a few months then weened off, the withdrawal was really bad on me. But it could have been a bad mix of anxiety on top of that. It will make you crave sugary foods! But it will kill anxiety and depression. It made me super creative as well. Loved it while my body was agreeing with it. :) I prefer to be med free these days though. Good luck, hope it works well for you!
