sertraline normal dosage

hi all been on 50 mg sertraline tablets for 3 weeks now for anxiety. they dont seem to be doing anything to me except side effects 1st week was worst my anxiety was worse had panic attacks, constant tiredness jittery sweating calmed down bit now i just have constantly shaky hands all time no matter what i do, doctor said thats just me im not sure what he means. anyone else get this? also i dont want him to up my dose as the side effects but not noticing any change does it take longer? thanks.

I cannot take serlfit-100 further...as this caused me ejaculation failure .... please help me with some alternate medicine with no/less side effects...

My doctor prescribed me Sertraline 25mg on top of my existing med. The first day I took Sertraline I got stomach upset and diarrhea; reduced to 12.5mg now. I m suffering side-effects like I'm having a fever(fatigue, sweaty, chills at times). On top of that, my menstruation's cramp is exceptionally bad this time, not sure it was affected by Sertraline. I am not sure this med would help me anymore. Hope someone could induce more positive effects about Sertraline.

i have had ocd now for 5 years i been on sertraline for about that time but last year all my unwanted throughts went away it was great for a year i stop taking my sertraline and then it came back i been back on the sertraline now for over 6months and i think it makes me worst i feels tension. jumpy.down and my unwanted throughts are as bad as ever.

So tomorrow I am to start Sertraline. My psychiatrist said to start slow with it. He gave me 50 mg to break in half and take for a week...my question is is it safe to break the 25 mg in half as well and start even slower? I'm a huge baby when it comes to side effects :( but id take 12.5 my for a week then 25 mg for a week then 50mg then I would see him again. Has anyone ever done this? Thanks. Also share experiences if you like.

I am taking a small dose of Zoloft 12-25 mg daily. The normal dose is 100 but I find it difficult everytime I try to get off it. Are there any studies with substituting Tryosine or SAMe while trying to get off of zoloft? I cannot cold turkey the zoloft without withdrawel effects. Would I have to gradually add these and take simultaneously with Zoloft? Is it safe to take one or both of these with zoloft? If so, what dosage? Also, is it safe to take zoloft while taking natural harmones ( cream)?

I switched to HempPaste last week and I feel amazing! But I want to come off my prescriptions. Any ideas how to decrease dosage until I’m off them completely? My doctor is against marijuana as a treatment and isn't being helpful at all.

I started sertraline 50 mg 4 and 1/2 weeks ago for health anxiety, general anxiety and depression. Also 50 mg trazadone for insomnia. At the 2-3 week point I was experiencing some improvements- better appetite, socializing again, much less worry, sleeping better with the trazadone. At my 3 week doctor visit he decided to not increase my dosage since I was seeing improvement.

Perhaps the stress in your life has gotten worse and the previous dosage of sertraline is no longer working for you. You may want to explore an increase or a new medication altogether with your psychiatrist. The important thing to remember is that you have been able to get better in the past and you will get better again, you just need a bit more help right now. Best wishes...

I also agree that you need to give the 100mg some more time. It's not unusual for a med to take another 4-6 weeks to reach peak effectiveness, after a dosage increase. The good news is, you're seeing some very positive results....so I think it's fair to say that the Zoloft wilkl work well for you. Have you started any therapy?

Hi! I hope you are feeling better! I have so many questions myself and just started a small dose of Zoloft Being on it before I do know it took like two weeks to start really working. I also know that when you increase, it should be in smaller increments. I'm not a doctor but why would he have you double your dose? Yikes? Some of the side effects can cause you more worry! Believe me..... I think I have every deadly thing going on in my body right now.

Here we ago again back on sertraline took it months back couldn't get it up gotta try be polite incase kids on here lol pee a lot feels like I was drunk chest pains but this time I'm going to fight all the side effects I have this time as saying goes got to go through the worse to get better need to make steps now before anxiety rules my life anymore

Is this muscle twitching experienced by other Zoloft users, and will this be permanent? Why does it happen? And what usually stops it, lowering or raising the dosage?

Whenever I take medications like Sertraline, I do have a few side effects when I start or adjust the dosage, but they tend to go away in a couple of weeks. I would stress patience and keep an open line of communication open between you and your prescribing doctor...keep us posted!

ve been using the generic brand of zoloft (sertraline) for about 6 months now. My doctor started me with the minimum dosage (25 mg) and I am currently up to 100 mg. I didn't have any troubles with 25, 50 or 75 mg. But I had a little bit of gitters and agitation for the first couple of days on 100. That went away though. And I haven't had any problems since. t a question - as I have read countless posts trying to determine if my reactions to the drug were normal. I am posting for those who are struggling for the first 2-3 weeks of it. I am just starting week 3 on Sertraline. The first 2 1/2 were difficult. The problem when dealing with anxiety, everything is magnified. I found my self anxious over every side effect. But as I read through countless posts regarding Zoloft, I realized it is all part of the drug settling in.

Will this go away should i call my doctor? is this normal ? also My doctor told me i could have drinks socially while on just the anti axienty if i took them in the mornings and allowed a couple hours to pass, can i drink socially at night if i take both the zoloft and the anti axienty both in the morning ?

Currently came off sertraline after five weeks on it it 2 weeks it took the anxiety edge off things then Bang 3 weeks of hell started venlafaxine 37.5mg Tuesday just gone and upped to 75mg Friday anxiety is sky high this weekend and had loads of crying out burst my anxiety is awful in the mornings after taking a zopiclone for sleep I was just wondering if anyone has had anything like benzodiazepines to help with there venlafaxine start up to get you through the first rough couple of weeks?

It may be the wrong medication for you and another one is needed or dosage related or a wrong diagnosis but your psychiatrist could tell. Do think back when this started though as that would help them decide what to do.
