Avatar m tn I'm a 30yr old male. I was on Sertraline approx 10 years ago for depression and it seemed to work until a crash. For one reason or another over the years, my treatment has changed several times. It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.

Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me Sertraline 25mg on top of my existing med. The first day I took Sertraline I got stomach upset and diarrhea; reduced to 12.5mg now. I m suffering side-effects like I'm having a fever(fatigue, sweaty, chills at times). On top of that, my menstruation's cramp is exceptionally bad this time, not sure it was affected by Sertraline. I am not sure this med would help me anymore. Hope someone could induce more positive effects about Sertraline.
Avatar f tn I think my “depression” is controlled but I feel I can’t relax and can’t sleep and irritable and annoyed most od the time. Even when I use zolpidem/zopiclone I get a good nights sleep, but still feel miserable the next day. The reason I wound up on this combo was that when weaning the mirtazapine got depressive symptoms coming back and those were controlled by adding in a bit of sertraline.
Avatar f tn Hello there, I was prescribed sertraline 3 weeks ago today due to venlafaxine not working as it should, iv been on mirtazapine 15mg since December 10th to help with sleep issues, so anyways I stopped 75mg after 4months due to it not working for me and went straight on to sertraline 100mg morning and 15mg mirtazipine at night I felt balanced and levelled out pretty much straight away but today have woke up tired with flu like symptoms is this normal 3 weeks in do I need to stick it out longer fo
Avatar f tn m going to stick with the sertraline as its only day 4 and stop with the mirtazapine tonight and not have it as I hate when I do fall asleep the next thing is I'm awake and don't feel as if iv been asleep for 8+hours and feel drained the next day from doing this, I would much prefer my natural sleep pattern back but I know that is not happening yet.
Avatar f tn Been put on 50mg today after being on mirtazapine for 10days and it's not agreeing with me at all so my question is wen is best to take morning or evening as the doctor never said when to take only once a day Thanks
Avatar m tn Hello, I need help to understand how this antidepressant work for anxiety and potentially will lower my HR/BP.
Avatar f tn even when I went on the mirtazapine. My Dr. prescribed xanax for me and it helped hold me until the mirtazapine started working. I also take 30 mg. at night for depression.... I couldn't tolerate anything - made me agitated...
Avatar n tn There is a mechanism known to us that explains why caution should be exercised while using a combination of Sertraline and Propranolol. Sertraline and other Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) inhibit a certain enzyme which usually metabolizes Propranolol. Due to this inhibition, Propranolol action may be enhanced. But it will not be appropriate to look at this isolated piece of information and ignore other evidences.
Avatar f tn Although it only lasted for around three weeks max, after 2 months i thought it would have gone by now, one med though it persisted and i had enough and changed to a diff med, Mirtazapine and did not get any probs with it, maybe u should try another med.
Avatar n tn ) I left a message with the psychiatrist, who is sending my GP a prescription for mirtazapine to add to the sertraline (150mg) and pregabalin (300mg) I already take. He thinks this will help with the anxiety and depression, but it's obviously not a quick fix - I will have only been on it for 2 days by the time I'm due to leave, and I have no idea how I'm going to react.
Avatar m tn After a few years my doctor switched me to Sertraline, and for the first time , I began to get tremor, an annoying peri-oral sensation with some mild jaw tremor and severe bruxism. That was 2 years ago. After quitting sertraline, all these went away, but the depression came back, so I tried Moclobemide, ending up with ever more severe side effects and more anxiety as well.
Avatar n tn I had to stop taking Mirtazapine last night as the side-effects I was getting from it are apparently rare and will not go away. I have already taken Citalopram, Sertraline and Mirtazapine for my anxiety but didn't get on with them. I have a phone appointment with my GP this evening and would feel better knowing I had an idea what medication might work best for me. I don't want to take Prozac or anything that will make sick/vomit, dizzy or mimic other anxiety symptoms.
Avatar f tn However, it has one horrible and very common side effect, which is intense hunger and weight gain. I gained 50 pounds on Mirtazapine and even after quitting, I really have a hard time getting rid of them.
Avatar m tn Hi, I do know that doctors will sometimes find a combo of things (most often by accident) works best in a patient. A low dose of one and a higher dose of another. With Mirtazapine & duloxetine used together, you have to watch for serotonin syndrome. They are commonly prescribed together though.
Avatar m tn There have been postmarketing reports of serotonin syndrome when linezolid was given with or soon after the discontinuation of serotonergic drugs, particularly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors such as paroxetine and sertraline.[9][110][111][112] It may also enhance the blood pressure-increasing effects of sympathomimetic drugs such as pseudoephedrine or phenylpropanolamine.
Avatar m tn Sir, Good day! I suffer from bipolar disorder. My psychiatrist has been treating me with a combination of Tab. Sodium valproate 2000 mg at night [SR Tab.] & Tab. Sertraline 100 mg in morning. Could this combination cause worsening of my disease in long term? Thanks & Regards, Naveen.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've suffered with depression since having my son 17 years ago, I've been put on many different meds, prozac, sertraline, dothiepin, amitriptyline, mirtazapine, citalopram, I'm now on Viepax XL 75mg (since yesterday) and was wondering how well they work for people? as I don't want to be changeing meds every 5 mins.
Avatar m tn Hello. I was taking 30mg of mirtazapine at bedtime. Then, on friday I took only 15mg. On saturday I did a lot of sports and running and didn't take any Mirtazapine. On sunday, I took four beers and haven't taken any Mirtazapine since then. On monday I was having headaches and was harder to think. Do you think this is because of the alcohol or just because of withdrawal symptons? Thank you.
497482 tn?1212948534 hi i am on 1000mg of valproate and 15mg of mirtazepiene and i feel foggy and like i am pulled back in my brain, like i am viewing things from the back of my brain instead of at the front where i want to be. i am fiding my job hard to concentrate on and i am getting so frustrated with my memory, i cant think straight at all and i cant answer questions at work. (I am currently depressed for no real reason). I have been on valproate for 6 weeks/2 months and mirtazepiene for two weeks.
459081 tn?1206355259 However, I do take mirtazapine(Remeron), and have gained over 10 lbs. on it (taking for 11 mos. now). Not surprising as the appetite increase/weight gain can be a drawback to Remeron. Have you asked your Dr. - perhaps it's the combination? Maybe ask the pharmacist? Hope you find the answer...it's frustrating, I know...
Avatar f tn Often it can take 4-6 weeks to get the full effect of the meds. I am not familiar with the depression med, fitzema. Ask your dr how long you should it be before you notice a difference. In my experience pscy dr's give one new med at a time. They are looking for side effects and if the med is helping. With multiple meds this is hard to distinguish. No need to take more meds than one needs.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, three months ago I started with pgad, which is a condition that you feel unwanted sexual arousal, it is horrible, I couldn't even sleep, at some moments It goes away and others it will return. I went to more than 12 different doctors, anyone knew what was happening. I have ocd, this year is going to be my 5th year with ocd and with anxiety, with despersonalization and irreality.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking sertraline for mood swings and have been taking it for about 5 years. I also have recently been put on topamax for migraines. I have read about all this wonderful weight loss. If anything I have gained. Could these 2 medicines together be holding me back from losing> I would like to go off of the sertraline.
