Sertraline and headaches

Common Questions and Answers about Sertraline and headaches

zoloft

hiya, i have just been changed from one anti depressant to another called sertraline, i have been taking it for just over a week, i have been getting terrible headaches, which feels like my head is going to blow, my skin is uncontrollably itchy to the p-oint of scratching until i bleed, i am having terrible pounding in my chest, with palpitations, not sleeping at all, feeling sick a lot, dizziness, tightness in the chest to the point of it feels like i am being choked and can not breath properly
Speech slurring is minimal, and if I just take a sort of an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>ntal breather it goes away quickly, lightheadedness seems to coan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> on after I've been walking around and it dies down if I take a seat or lie down, I get disoriented if I move quickly- like if I turn my head quickly to the side when in conversation with a group or soan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>thing, the headaches and nausea don't seem to have a trigger for an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>, and it's soan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>thing that I just ride out.
Hope you sort the depression out as I myself am a sertraline user and for the record I do drink from tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> to tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> and it can definately leave an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> feeling a little worse for a couple of days after drinking.
Just rean style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>mber that there are side effects with Sertraline (an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>zoloftan>) in both the generic and brand naan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> forms especiallly when you start, change doses, or coan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> off of it, but for most people they are not that bad. For example I have more side effects from taking a Claritan than I ever did with an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>zoloftan>. as with any an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>dical concerns, always keep an open channel with your doctor to express any of your concerns or questions.
I started taking sertraline and I felt fine but they switched an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> to 25mg sertraline and 50mg of an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>zoloftan> I'm getting really bad headaches now and I cannot stand because of it what do I do
Next week I start on 100 mg. I had terrible headaches, dizziness, and nausea for about three and half weeks, but they've now subsided. The only side effect I experience right now is tremors in my hands. The psychiatrist didn't seem to think this was a side effect of the drug (she looked it up and said 6-11% of people taking it get tremors), but my hands didn't start shaking till I started this drug.
You have been prescribed Sertraline for mood swings and also it is working well for you, your correlation of using Sertraline and getting migraines might be ok, but it is always better to discuss with the doctor who prescribed the drug about its possible side effects and a substitute thereon. You might consult a migraine specialist also to get an evaluation and update on drug use. Try relaxation techniques to decrease stress. Keep posting your views. Take care.
It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack, and to reduce the severity and frequency of migraine headaches. anytian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> we start a new an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>dication there can be side effects the first week or two as our bodies adapt to the an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>dication. You should call your doctor and ask if these are side effects you should be concerned with......he wants and needs to know how you're doing, so don't hesitate to call him. Take care.
Has anyone else found this to be true? I'm not spiraling into complete dispair for which I think I have the sertraline to thank and my mind that was once so full of intrusive thoughts and ruminations is clear again, normal reactions & emotions are returning, my sex drive is back (!) so it's definitely working on a lot if levels. Has anyone got any thoughts on the anxiety thing? Thank you.
I just switched from sertraline to Wellbutrin XL about 4 days ago, so I do not believe the headaches are related to that. any advice is greatly appreciated.
I'm taking antidepressants (sertraline, 100mgs a day) and see a psychologist weekly. I often get bad headaches behind my left eye and feel dizzy along with constant fatigue. I ignored it because I thought it was due to depression until recently I've been getting nosebleeds more frequently after only having one once. I also feel nauseous a lot of the tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> but have only vomited once or twice. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could possibly be wrong? Thanks for your tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>.
for an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> I know it is my EDS and instability and TCS.....once u know it may be easier to know how to deal with it...as I said for an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> the TOPaMaX works and it helps put off more surgery.
Restless legs stopped mood is good but I am constantly getting headaches in back of my head and ringing of the ears. Headaches and tinnitus started around tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> of beginning sertraline. I have seen the audiologist and am seeing an ENT this week. My question is will the headaches/tinnitus get better longer I take?? Thanks for the responses to my other threads.
I don't know if I'm being paranoid but I had a really bad headache all of yesterday and it didn't go away with painkillers, and it was still there this morning but i took two ibuprofen and it cleared up. This is very strange for an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> as I do get alot of headaches because of stress and sleep deprivation but they usually go away once I get sleep. I'm also on Zimovane and Sertraline, could these have an effect on the pill?
I take my antidepressants but after 15 plus years I feel like I just want to an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>givean> up! I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired!!!! I just want to feel happy and normal and NOT in pain or TIRED! If anyone has any idea of where i can turn for help, please let an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> know. This is the first tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> in 20 years of fighting with this that I actually feel like I can't take it anymore, maybe my family will be better off....
I am a 19 year old female who within the last 2 years have been having severe cluster headaches, and recently developed into lightheadedness. It's always behind my eyes and on my shoulders. I'm almost constantly lightheaded. My doctor diagnosed an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> with depression and put an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> on sertraline which helped a little but there coming back worse then ever.
I take them about 8 hours a part and I am nauseated, with headaches in the middle of the night and early morning, with sleeplessness. Is one interfering with the other? How will I ever know if depression is subsiding from levothyroxin, if I stay on generic an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>zoloftan>? I am wondering if I am in Pandora's Box.
Hi, New here... my daughter was prescribed an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>zoloftan> (sertraline) 25 mg, celexa 10 mg, and lexapro 5 mg to take all together. When picking up her prescription, the pharmacist questioned the prescribing doctors mix saying that taking all three could cause serotonin syndroan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>. My daughter started out on the an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>zoloftan> at half dose for a week, then went to 25 mg, then added celexa and lexapro a few weeks later. She is now at week 16 but seems to be doing fine except for she can't get rid of a flu.
Ok, I went to the psychiatrist (I feel it's the better choice for now) and she told an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> to take sertraline for a month to see If I get the wanted improvean style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>nt. That was soan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> ago, I didn't take the sertraline then because I felt kind of scared about it because I read it is an antidepresive and I'm not depressive.

This is an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>aningless, unfair and disingenuous. But unfortunately, it gets much worse.
Now it's too the point to where its like I'm having a really good day and I'm full of energy and happiness and then I get tired and all of a sudden I becoan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> really depressed and anti-social to the point that it hurts and I have a heavy feeling on myself. I was told it takes 3 to 4 weeks to start seeing results, which I believe, but to be honest I'm getting impatient now because I'm tired of having these really depressing feelings and thoughts go through my head all the tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>.
my symptoms are (and im sure i will miss a few) dizzyness, lightheadedness, blurry vision ,rapid or slow heart rate, confusion, heart / chest pain, tight chest and throat, lack of oxygen, vomiting, pins and needles all over body, skiping heart beat, headaches, numbness in arms, leggs, face, hands, and lips. musckle weakness to the point i cant even stand or walk...the list can go on forever. im taking 3 an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>dications to help controll it but everyday is a strugle. so for all sufferers....
I know stomach problems can be a side effect of SSRIs. I have never had a very strong stomach regardless, and my father and sister have similar problems. I have also found that certain foods trigger episodes - onion, tomatoes, mayonnaise, soya, wholean style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>al bread, garlic, oily foods. The symptoms seem to worsening. I have diarrhoea around 4-5 days a week. I get a 20 second 'abdominal cramp' warning - and several tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>s have not been able to reach a toilet.
I was also taking Lyrica and didn't like the side-effects. Neurontin, I enjoyed less. I had taken Cymbalta previously and noticed a difference in the pain level quickly. You may do well with this. I'm taking the Sertraline now, but do not notice any change in the level of pain with this an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>d. The Cymbalta worked better for an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> there. I hope you find the right combo to help you and you are feeling better soon. Take care.
after the first week or so, the adverse effects slowly disappeared and my mood improved a lot. I was honestly loving Sertraline, because it made an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> feel the way I was before the depressive episode and it also improved my anxiety. about two weeks ago, I started getting diarrhea. at first it didn't bother an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>, because I spend most of my tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> at hoan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> and I just though it would eventually go away like the other adverse effects.
I also looked up the drug, sertraline which you said your doctor prescribed for you and you took for four days. Sertraline is an antidepressant and it also has soan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> really dangerous and serious side effects. I hope you don't mind an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> saying this, but I don't think your doctor knows what you are suffering from. Perhaps it is tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> to find another doctor for a fresh look at your symptoms and for a second opinion from another doctor.
Who knows? I also have extrean style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> fatigue alot, headaches and heart palpitations, and alot of stomach issues. I also pass kidney stones frequently(not sure that is related). I could probably naan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> 50 more if I could rean style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>mber them all at once.LOL! I wish you the best in your journey to good an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>ntal and physical health.
I am getting depressed because of this and my behaviour has changed My back, neck hurt all the tian style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> I have never ending headaches that usually sit about a 8 on 10 on a pain scale with the odd migraine and barely a moan style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean>nt with relief My vision is getting worse when watching tv the words on the tv look double etc etc etc I could keep going here, so you guessed it my doctor put an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>mean> on so many antidepressants and other pills I was taking 17 pills a day, this is before and test were conducted an
