Seroquel withdrawal seizure

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel withdrawal seizure

seroquel

Avatar f tn However, I did read an article published by the maker of Seroquel acknowledging withdrawal symptoms. If word comes out that Seroquel is physically addicting and causes horrible withdrawals, people probably wouldn't be eager to take it and sales of the drug could drop. Seroquel is huge right now, this website is covered in ads for Seroquel. As far as the insomnia, I took Seroquel before bed because of how sedating it was for me. After 2.

871560 tn?1240023175 s still out as to whether it was caused by just the alcohol/benzo withdrawal, overdose quantities of seroquel, or the seroquel simply didn't allow my brain chemistry to re-normalize on its own, and it was brought on by physical activity after being down for a week. seroquel is an antipsychotic not a sedative, and it can be contraindicated in some individuals.
736475 tn?1281259327 does anyone have info about long term use of seroquel and how it affects you? my hubby tried to stop taking it and got all messed up. they are 50mg xr. thanks.
607502 tn?1288247540 I was transfered from Seroquel to Risperdal years ago. Once the Seroquel was gone completely, for a couple of days I had minor flu like withdrawal symptoms and slept all day and felt run down. Then I was okay after that.

Avatar f tn I managed to get off of effexor, but it was really bad for about 3 weeks. The only thing that helped me was to read about what the withdrawal symptoms entail so I could reassure myself that I wasn't going nuts. I dont know about seraquil, but coming off effexor made me very dizzy and i had brain zaps. Maybe you can also ask your question on the depression forum. Hang in there, it really does end.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, I would not recommend starting college right now. Personally, I wouldn't be able to make it. I couldn't even get my oil changed today because of the extreme pain, visual issues, and vomiting and flu like symptoms. It entirely depends on your body, how long you have been taking it, and how high your dose was.
Avatar f tn m withdrawling off of lortab 8x day cold turkey i ended up having a seziure and the doc prescribed me lorazapan on top of my xanax and seroquel 50mg all 3 times a day to get through the withdrawal symtoms is this truely safe when i have p.t.s.d. n suicidal thoughts?
Avatar n tn Birth control pills are known to increase the chances of a TIA. And Seroquel is known to lower seizure threshold. One of these could be playing a part in your symptoms. Have these issues been discussed with your neurologist ?
Avatar f tn I'm so sorry that you were prescribed this for insomnia. That should have never happened. This is an antipsychotic and should only be prescribed for such illness. 700mg is an incredibly high dose to just stop taking it at, even though you've only been taking it for a month. Unfortunately, most doctors don't know the withdrawal effects or how long it lasts because they weren't taught that and that wasn't studied, so it's really hard to find articles online about it.
Avatar f tn She has been taking 600 mg of seroquel for 2 years. She was taking the seroquel while inpatient also. The dr. only sent home a rx for nortriptilyne 75 mg and klonopin .5 mg 2x daily. I'm worried sick about her having withdrawal symptoms or going manic. I have spoken to the hospital and they say it will be fine but my research says otherwise. I don't know what to do. Her regular doctor is on vacation till Monday. Any insight or help will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn s unlikely you have tardive dyskenisia (TD) from your Seroquel use as it usually results from long term use. Seroquel does not cause blepharospasms, but benzodiazepine withdrawal can. Dry eye can also cause blepharospasms. Blepharospasms are not necessarily permanent, but they can be. Some people will have it resolve after a few days to a week. If it persists, there are some treatments that you could talk to your doctor about, such as botox.
Avatar f tn She was starting have nightmare regarding death, and her medication was changed to seroquel. About 3 to 4 weeks after starting seroquel she had a seizure ( 1 at home and 2 in the hospital). She was taken off the seroquel and but on Lamitcal and has had 5 more seizures. Is her bipolar disorder causing the seizures?
Avatar f tn Has anyone else had seizure like symptoms after taking just one dose of Seroquel?
Avatar f tn You should discuss other treatment modalities such as physical therapy, epidural steroid/facets injection, specific antidepressants and anti-seizure medications that are useful for chronic pain.
Avatar f tn Evening primrose oil may lower the seizure threshold and use is contraindicated in patients with seizure disorders, schizophrenia, or individuals receiving anti-seizure or anti-psychotic medications. Therefore, before using this herbal supplement for hair loss I would consult your doctor to see if it is appropriate or if they can recommend something else due to you taking Seroquel (which is classified as an anti-psychotic agent).
Avatar m tn Does it really work? Because I have been given 10mg Diazepam and it hasn't helped that much with W/D's or stop the attacks. I have posted about this before and someone suggested that if I can't get Clonidine I should try to get Seroquel. I can't get into much detail on here, but I really need anyone who has taken Seroquel to PLEASE, post about how it made them feel, if it helped with W/D's? Did it let you fall asleep?
Avatar f tn I just had a thought - it may be the sudden withdrawal from the seroquel causing the headaches also. If they're no better tomorrow then definitely ring your health care provider.
Avatar n tn Secondly even in transfering to another medication you will get some withdrawal symptoms as I did in the past when transfering from Seroquel to Risperdal which were fatigue and minor flu like withdrawal symptoms which pased in time and were not a problem. Follow your psychiatrist's titration schedule and ask them about available options.
Avatar f tn As I have always had an intolerance for antidepressants, I stopped the Ambilify and at the time of the seizure was only taking the Seroquel to help me sleep. I may have still had Ambien by then, but I doubt it, (my memory has been FRIED since the seizure!). I am a cannabis user, (I MUST have something to calm myself and help me fall asleep and I have found this is the best thing for me) and have been for about 10 years. On the day of the seizure, I had had a couple of drinks...
Avatar f tn If you had stopped and had uncontrolled withdrawal, you should have been put back on the Seroquel at the last dose at which you felt fine and tapered off it at your speed. I would assume that decreased dosage would have limited your adverse reactions.
Avatar n tn Why are the withdrawal symptoms of seroquel the same as the withdrawal symptoms of heroin? I know that you shouldn't just stop taking it and I understand that it is a non-narcotic medication, but I still would like to know why the symptoms are the same? I am currently taking seroquel for anxiety.
355133 tn?1241569648 t tell me this was an anti-seizure med when i started. has anyone had these symptoms and has anyone had a seizure when coming off of Lamictal?
534105 tn?1226157177 I am now struggling with anxiety and mild insomnia mainly due to withdrawal. Dr. wants me to take 25mg of Seroquel (quetiapine) per day. Do you think this is a good decision? I do not want to be addicted or dependent on any psych drug, and I have heard that quetiapine also is a drug that causes addiction and withdrawal symptoms..
Avatar f tn I just started on 25 mg seroquel and I'm weaning myself off Xanax .5mg. I was taking 4 or more a day because I was so anxious. I've noticed that I crave a lot of sugar (generally ) and when I started the seroquel I craved it even more. For the last two days I've eaten 2 bars of chocolate at night ( waking from sleep just to put a bar in my mouth and munch on it. Now, I weigh 83lbs as of now and height 5'1.
