seroquel

736475 tn?1281259327 does anyone have info about long term use of seroquel and how it affects you? my hubby tried to stop taking it and got all messed up. they are 50mg xr. thanks.
518117 tn?1429276273 I ran across something on the net about Seroquel. It was another forum that I got the info about Seroquel. On this forum someone was talking about there being a tort action lawsuit against the makers of Seroquel. That it is causing excessive weight gain, diabetes, very high blood pressure in people taking this antipsychotic. I am wanting to know further about these complications caused by Seroquel. My 28 year old son has been on this med for approximately 4 years now.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, I would not recommend starting college right now. Personally, I wouldn't be able to make it. I couldn't even get my oil changed today because of the extreme pain, visual issues, and vomiting and flu like symptoms. It entirely depends on your body, how long you have been taking it, and how high your dose was.
Avatar f tn I also taking seroquel, lamictal, lexapro and l tyrosine for bipolar depression. Do u think the withdrawal from the tramadol will be bad? Should I taper? What should I expect? Please help me. I'm scared. Thanks.
Avatar f tn However, I did read an article published by the maker of Seroquel acknowledging withdrawal symptoms. If word comes out that Seroquel is physically addicting and causes horrible withdrawals, people probably wouldn't be eager to take it and sales of the drug could drop. Seroquel is huge right now, this website is covered in ads for Seroquel. As far as the insomnia, I took Seroquel before bed because of how sedating it was for me. After 2.
3166043 tn?1514260018 It is a good book, which I actually like alot. I just reviewed it to find what you are saying it supports. Is it this quote feom the book written by Joseph Glanville, M.D."For example, GlaxoSmithKline now cautions that Paxil should be discontinued by a 'gradual reduction in the dose rather than abrupt cessation.
Avatar f tn I'm so sorry that you were prescribed this for insomnia. That should have never happened. This is an antipsychotic and should only be prescribed for such illness. 700mg is an incredibly high dose to just stop taking it at, even though you've only been taking it for a month. Unfortunately, most doctors don't know the withdrawal effects or how long it lasts because they weren't taught that and that wasn't studied, so it's really hard to find articles online about it.
Avatar f tn She has been taking 600 mg of seroquel for 2 years. She was taking the seroquel while inpatient also. The dr. only sent home a rx for nortriptilyne 75 mg and klonopin .5 mg 2x daily. I'm worried sick about her having withdrawal symptoms or going manic. I have spoken to the hospital and they say it will be fine but my research says otherwise. I don't know what to do. Her regular doctor is on vacation till Monday. Any insight or help will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn s unlikely you have tardive dyskenisia (TD) from your Seroquel use as it usually results from long term use. Seroquel does not cause blepharospasms, but benzodiazepine withdrawal can. Dry eye can also cause blepharospasms. Blepharospasms are not necessarily permanent, but they can be. Some people will have it resolve after a few days to a week. If it persists, there are some treatments that you could talk to your doctor about, such as botox.
871560 tn?1240023175 s still out as to whether it was caused by just the alcohol/benzo withdrawal, overdose quantities of seroquel, or the seroquel simply didn't allow my brain chemistry to re-normalize on its own, and it was brought on by physical activity after being down for a week. seroquel is an antipsychotic not a sedative, and it can be contraindicated in some individuals.
Avatar m tn Does it really work? Because I have been given 10mg Diazepam and it hasn't helped that much with W/D's or stop the attacks. I have posted about this before and someone suggested that if I can't get Clonidine I should try to get Seroquel. I can't get into much detail on here, but I really need anyone who has taken Seroquel to PLEASE, post about how it made them feel, if it helped with W/D's? Did it let you fall asleep?
Avatar f tn I just had a thought - it may be the sudden withdrawal from the seroquel causing the headaches also. If they're no better tomorrow then definitely ring your health care provider.
Avatar n tn Secondly even in transfering to another medication you will get some withdrawal symptoms as I did in the past when transfering from Seroquel to Risperdal which were fatigue and minor flu like withdrawal symptoms which pased in time and were not a problem. Follow your psychiatrist's titration schedule and ask them about available options.
Avatar m tn Yes I experienced withdrawal symptoms when I was changed from Seroquel to Risperdal and had to titrate off on at the rate my psychiatrist told me to. That is not uncommon. Its chemically separate phenomenon from addiction and if a person follows their psychiatrist's titration schedule in time these concerns will pass.
Avatar f tn If you had stopped and had uncontrolled withdrawal, you should have been put back on the Seroquel at the last dose at which you felt fine and tapered off it at your speed. I would assume that decreased dosage would have limited your adverse reactions.
Avatar m tn I would only imagine that the physician, who has been prescribing you the Tramadol so freely, should be willing to help you taper it and help you with the side effects of the withdrawals that you will be experiencing. I would not recommend stopping it cold turkey as the withdrawal from it is essentially the same as the one for the opiates. It usually takes several weeks of the really nasty symptoms followed by several more of just insomnia and general weakness and depression.
Avatar n tn Why are the withdrawal symptoms of seroquel the same as the withdrawal symptoms of heroin? I know that you shouldn't just stop taking it and I understand that it is a non-narcotic medication, but I still would like to know why the symptoms are the same? I am currently taking seroquel for anxiety.
Avatar n tn Given the severity of the episode and the long half-life of Lariam (approx 2-4 weeks), I was placed on Seroquel (50 mg) and clonazepam (2mg) daily until the Lariam finally cleared my system. I am now down to 25 mg of Seroquel and 1 mg of Clonazepam each day. Last week, I learned that I was 4 weeks pregnant. I wish to keep the baby and am concerned for his/her well-being if I remain on the clonazepam. While I know 1 mg is a relatively small dose, I would still rather be on 0 mg...
Avatar m tn What is happening to you is a daily withdrawal from tramadol. Even though Tramadol is not considered a true narcotic medication and is relatively easily prescribed for pain by some physicians, it is as you have found out quite addictive and difficult to quit. As you already know, it usually takes several weeks of the really nasty symptoms of acute withdrawal, followed by several months of just insomnia and general weakness and depression.
534105 tn?1226157177 I am now struggling with anxiety and mild insomnia mainly due to withdrawal. Dr. wants me to take 25mg of Seroquel (quetiapine) per day. Do you think this is a good decision? I do not want to be addicted or dependent on any psych drug, and I have heard that quetiapine also is a drug that causes addiction and withdrawal symptoms..
663901 tn?1232649671 I'm not sure if I'm diagonosed correctly with bi-polar disorder. Between March and now I've tried several different medications. One of my main issues is sleeping and I was prescribed Seroquel. I took 200mg for several months and finally told the pdoc that I wasn't happy with it because of the weight gain and skin (terrible breakouts) issues. He switched me on October 14th to Geodon. I took 40mg a day for two days and then was bumped up to 80mg.
Avatar n tn Went to my dr. today and he changed my meds. Took me off Zxprexa 20 mg and put me on Geodon 80 mg . I''m hopeful that I want have any any withdrawal symptoms. If there are any symptoms what should I be on the look out for?
Avatar f tn I've been on 25 mg of Seroquel, daily, for 10 months. What would happen if I quit cold turkey? I haven't had a pill in three days. I'd like to wean myself off.
