736475 tn?1281259327 does anyone have info about long term use of seroquel and how it affects you? my hubby tried to stop taking it and got all messed up. they are 50mg xr. thanks.
Avatar f tn I was on this medication for 3 years and was cut off cold turkey because insurance ran out. What do I do to help myself get through this withdrawal and how long should it last? I start college tomorrow and i'll do whatever i can to get through this and stay in school.
Avatar f tn s unlikely you have tardive dyskenisia (TD) from your Seroquel use as it usually results from long term use. Seroquel does not cause blepharospasms, but benzodiazepine withdrawal can. Dry eye can also cause blepharospasms. Blepharospasms are not necessarily permanent, but they can be. Some people will have it resolve after a few days to a week. If it persists, there are some treatments that you could talk to your doctor about, such as botox.
Avatar f tn i get a sensation that is unpleasent and the only way i can describe it is that it feels like you want to throw up and **** yourself(this has never happened, though guts do tend to be bad) at the same time.
Avatar f tn I mean I have an idea of how long withdrawal from an antidepressant anxiety last and how long startup anxiety from an antidepressant last about 7 to 10 days but I have no idea how long my raw untreated with an antidepressant would last . Would last.
Avatar n tn Hi, how long have you been on it? I'm not a fan of seroquel, i had horrible muscle twitching when I was on it. If after a decent period of time you are still experiencing these effects I would suggest talking to the doc, at the end of the day you need a stabilizer that still allows you to function. I'm now trying Tegratol (carbamazepine), its early days so I can't say whether its working or not.
Avatar f tn Just wondering is it because of coming of the olanzipine. How long do withdrawal symptoms last? Has anyone else had the same problem coming off olanzipine?
Avatar f tn I started taking 50mg of Seroquel in December for sleep. Shortly after I began to feel as if I couldn't breathe. I went to the ER and they checked me out and told me it was anxiety. So I saw My nurse practitioner and she prescribed Vistaril 50 mg 3x a day. I room it for a week. Still had the same symptoms. I figured out It was The seroquel. I tried to call the nurse but they are never available so I did not do my homework on this med and quit it cold Turkey.
Avatar f tn You should never quit a benzo cold turkey! You need to taper slowly and under the care of a psychiatrist. You seem to be okay, but they can cause seizures and other serious problems upon sudden stoppage. As to how long withdrawal lasts, that depends on the person. It's not a one size fits all situation. Can be easy, can be terrible, can be very quick, can be very long.
Avatar f tn However, I did read an article published by the maker of Seroquel acknowledging withdrawal symptoms. If word comes out that Seroquel is physically addicting and causes horrible withdrawals, people probably wouldn't be eager to take it and sales of the drug could drop. Seroquel is huge right now, this website is covered in ads for Seroquel. As far as the insomnia, I took Seroquel before bed because of how sedating it was for me. After 2.
Avatar n tn Secondly even in transfering to another medication you will get some withdrawal symptoms as I did in the past when transfering from Seroquel to Risperdal which were fatigue and minor flu like withdrawal symptoms which pased in time and were not a problem. Follow your psychiatrist's titration schedule and ask them about available options.
Avatar n tn Why are the withdrawal symptoms of seroquel the same as the withdrawal symptoms of heroin? I know that you shouldn't just stop taking it and I understand that it is a non-narcotic medication, but I still would like to know why the symptoms are the same? I am currently taking seroquel for anxiety.
663901 tn?1232649671 I'm not sure if I'm diagonosed correctly with bi-polar disorder. Between March and now I've tried several different medications. One of my main issues is sleeping and I was prescribed Seroquel. I took 200mg for several months and finally told the pdoc that I wasn't happy with it because of the weight gain and skin (terrible breakouts) issues. He switched me on October 14th to Geodon. I took 40mg a day for two days and then was bumped up to 80mg.
534105 tn?1226157177 It's hard to say. If it lingers, I'd go back on the Seroquel at the last dose at which you felt fine and do the taper. And get a new psychiatrist -- you want one who is always looking out for you, not one who is in a hurry. Anyone can have a withdrawal reaction, as it's so individual a thing, even if the conditions are such that most people won't get them. Maybe you were one who did.
Avatar f tn I also have nausea and vomiting. But my question is how long until I will be able to get to sleep again? I am Bipolar 2 and am worried about getting unwell without sleep. All I have read says it could be 1-2 weeks. How does one manage this with a mood disorder and with trying to work etc??
Avatar m tn I know everyone is different but how long is it going to take? Has anyone else taken seroquel for sleep after a major detox? Please help me.
3166043 tn?1514260018 going back to 50 mg Seroquel (which is an antipsychotic, not an antidepressant) or riding out the withdrawal. How do you consider taking 50.mg Seroquel (last dose), the best dose to go back to without knowing her or that riding out withdrawal is the only other course she can take. After she goes back on 50.mg, what does she do afterwards? How long is she suppose.to.deal.with extreme anxiety and does she even mention it to her doctor?
Avatar f tn First of all, you have a lot of can'ts in your message, and if you believe you can't, you can't. Meditation, for example, isn't something you can or can't do -- whatever the experience is, that's the experience. When we get to expecting something from the meditation, and I've developed that problem after years of wonderful meditations, then it seems the meditation isn't doing anything.
Avatar n tn how long does it take to detox 150 mg of seroquel to 75 mg. How long is the withdrawl?
Avatar m tn Update: I think this could be a drug-withdrawal side effect. My psychiatrist put me on Seroquel last fall when I was having a killer, KILLER pain in my right eye. She had suspected that all my symptoms could be a conversion disorder, and because the eye pain was so intense, she put me on a very low dose of this atypical antipsychotic medication in the hope it would interrupt the conversion disorder process.
