Seroquel with alcohol

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel with alcohol

seroquel

Avatar n tn Her even being on the meds while she is actively drinking is pointless, because with alcohol being a depressant, the alcohol is going to pretty much cancel out any effects the meds would offer. Encourage her to seek help, the sooner the better. Very best to you, and her. I hope she sees the light soon.
Avatar f tn Don't take seroquel with Neo-Citrin. It has pseudonephine in it and that causes issues with meds. Most cough syrups cause issues with meds, especially compounded products like Niquel and Neo-Citran. Sorry but the only alternative is Buckley's Original (the cherry has pseudonephrine in it). It does taste like crap, (ground up pine needles) but it does work very well.
Avatar n tn There appear to be warnings about liver damage with Seroquel in combination with alcohol. The full information would be available on the medication website. It would be essential to discuss all this wth your psychiatrist as to potential health effects. Also drinkng can make many medications less effective. It would be worthwhile to discuss this with your psychiatrist as well.
Avatar n tn I agree with the above posters and would like to add Seroquel and Alcohol are a very bad combination.. not only does it affect coordination but your thinking memory and everything else.. Really a bad bad combo.. It sounds like the Seroquel is prescribed the booze isn't.. I hope you give up the Alcohol as it will throw a Monkey wrench in everything you try.. Be kind to yourself..
Avatar m tn Hello, I would like to know if it is safe to fly and be taking medical treatment for a year with Seroquel 300 and Fluoxetine (Prozac). I have to take a plane in a few days and let me know if it is safe to take this treatment ((people taking Seroquel and flew by plane more than 6 hours) I would also like to know the flight experiences in other patients taking Seroquel. Thanks, Anthony.
1563533 tn?1345366296 its the worst feeling in the world, trust me my heart is still burning ill never drink again let alone with seroquel any dosage
1035297 tn?1255899867 Does anyone else have a hard time not turning to drugs or alcohol while experiencing dysphoria or mixed states? I find it extremely difficult. Most of the time I can refrain, but sometimes it's so hard I have no idea what else to do. Therapy doesn't help, the meds aren't working...what are some things you guys do during these times?
871560 tn?1240023175 all i had was some ativan and seroquel to detox with (from alcohol, benzos and opiates), the ativan went quick (gone the second day) and i ended up taking massive amounts of seroquel to combat the shakes, hallucinations and insomnia. i made it through seven days of pure hell and decided to get out of the house. remember this was 7 days without booze and pills. i drove about 10 miles at highway speeds and soon after exiting onto residential streets i had a seizure as i was driving.
Avatar f tn With me the Seroquel interacted badly with marijuana. I have never been on any of the other meds but Seroquel is an anti-psychotic and I would not recommend smoking marijuana with it no matter the therapeutic effect it gives you. If your anxiety meds aren't working anymore I would talk to your doctor and see if something else can be adjusted but I am thinking that the meds aren't the issue.
Avatar m tn take your meds EXACTLY as prescribed, and avoid alcohol all together. When you meet with your doctor, you can discuss what kinds of options you have. Have you been in therapy at all? If so, has it helped? You just have to be real honest with yourself here to determine if you feel you can stick to the program or not.
Avatar m tn i am feeling a slight pain in the upper left area of my chest. i am currently on seroquel/wellbutrin 150mg each for depression etc. i also smoked a small amount of weed with this, am i paranoid or is there potential for a heart attack? if it's relevant, i also worked out today, so perhaps my muscles are sore? who knows. i'm 19 years old. also, my blood pressure is decently high, average 130/105.
Avatar n tn Were you diagnosed with anything else in addition to OCD? I know sometimes anti-psychotics are prescribed to OCD sufferers but I thought Seroquel was for Bi-Polar?
Avatar m tn I'm a 24 year old male, who drinks about three times per week, twice more so in a binge drinking fashion. I've been diagnosed with OCD and possibly Panic Disorder, strong phobias. I was told I'm 'not' an alcoholic, at outpatient therapy. AA itself seems a little far fetched. I can still function, but at a minimal rate, problems holding down jobs, and keeping busy without serious panic problems.
Avatar f tn It's a good reason to get off seroquel because it has been proven that it can lead to diebetic and weight gain issues.. I too am trying to come off it, because I HAVE gained excessive weight without any reason other then attributed to this medicine. It works great for my anxiety, but I have to try an alternative. I read from someone that they are taking effexor and busprone ( which I have been on the busprone); I wish you the best in you search with your physciatrist.
1965148 tn?1354978634 I have been taking seroquel for 1-2 years.. at 1st i considered this my MAGIC PILL, however the sedation is a killer. I have suffered extreme tiredness, lethargy and sedation on many different meds in the past 8 yrs to treat my BP, including zoloft, lithium, epilim.. and i didn't notice it with the seroquel at 1st, but now i may as well be a zombie. I have just today changed my script to seroquel XR (the slow release). Can anyone tell me, is the dopiness any or much less on this?
874521 tn?1424116797 his mind races constantly and keeps him awake or unable to concentrate during the day. He has problems with drug/alcohol abuse, that he says is the ONLY time he can shut his mind OFF for awhile....I'm confused what is everyones opinion that he has a correct dx???
Avatar f tn s why I would agree with the other posters that it is best to take Seroquel right before going to sleep but you could speak to your psychiatrist about all this.
Avatar n tn From personal experience (I take Lamictal and Seroquel), meds and alcohol do not mix very well. I have not had a seizure but I do not think it would be out of the question when mixing the two. I really can't give you a great answer because it is a huge unknown and I would rather not find out. It is better to play it safe. The only time I have ever blacked out was when I mixed the two - I would rather that not happen again. But also, it is hard to remain stable when consuming alcohol.
Avatar n tn at age 69 have developed pulsating tinnitus in left ear- bothers me when ever my blood pressure rises due to exertion , waking up, or anxiety. I have been taking low does seroquel (50mg) for insomnia for 8 months and I think that may have caused this to happen as tinnitus is a side effect in some people. Maybe it has to do with aging- I am in no pain, but sometimes the ear feels full like eustachian tube is not functioning properly.
Avatar f tn addictedrd73 told my story...i ping ponged back n'forth with other drugs rationalizing it wasn't alcohol .i was sick in all spheres until i surrendered to my allergy to all mood altering substances...i couldn't have one of anything!Ur getting good advice here...sure hope u heed it.I went to inpatient 25 days, did 12 step meetings lifestyle change 360 degrees....11-22 will be 28 years sober/clean.i'm gonna make that date 2!
Avatar m tn And I would take the seroquel in the early morning while the alcohol wore off. A real healthy way of existing. Now, I am off the booze but due to my GAD I am told that I should take 4 mgs of xanax and possibly an anti depressant. I am currently taking 2 mgs of xanax a day. .05 4x daily. I do not know what to do. I am in such psycological pain because I am sober, feel like hell and the Dr.s are making me more anxious pushing the xanax on me.
1564517 tn?1314346323 I recently had to switch my med doctor because of my age. I have really bad insomnia and have all my life. I'm usually okay once asleep but I cant fall asleep on my own. I was put on 100mg on seroquel but it was reduced overtime because it was causing me to sleep too much, uncontrollably. I now take 25mg at night. But it still takes around 3 hours after I take it before I fall asleep. Well the other day my new doctor put me on 10mg of Zolpidem to take at night with the seroquel....
Avatar f tn Im also on Vyvanse during the day for my add which is a godson combined with seroquel. So that is why i was able to control my eating and also so im alert during the day. My main issue was the binge eating at night when i was on geodon and seroquel. Ive been on geodon for 10 years and eventually was On such a low dose 40 mg that I just quit cold turkey. I did up my seroquel to 400 mg to eliminate the withdrawls. (im quite the pharmacist) I have actually been loosing weight rapidly.
