Seroquel side effects liver

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel side effects liver

seroquel

Avatar n tn Doing so can cause major withdrawals and horrible side effects. I have a link that tells you all about seroquel. I do not reccomend you read it, as it will only scare you off it. I did not even look closely at the page. But I will leave it up to you. Blessings - Blu http://www.rxlist.com/seroquel-side-effects-drug-center.
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar f tn My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.
Avatar f tn It's difficult to find information on this drug, and there is some question as to whether it is a generic of Zoloft, but no solid evidence to support that it is. It's manufactured in India, and little information is available on it. It's linked to Seroquel another antidepressant. It does state that it affects the liver, but I couldn't find more specifics on side effects.
Avatar f tn Everyone reacts to medication differently. A medication that might work for me might be disastrous for you. You might have started at too high of a dose or increased your dose too fast, you might be on too high of a dose for your body or it might just simply be the wrong medication for you. I would inform your doctor of these side effects right away if you haven't done so already.
802234 tn?1237830136 My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.
Avatar f tn 1 week ago, and I saw all the side effects and was leary also, but since I have been on it I have only had some side effects, tired during the day, and overly thirsty, and my sinuses being dry, and that is about it.
Avatar n tn I wanted to ask, if I were to drink heavily (six pack) once a week, would this affect my liver functioning due to these medications, specifically Seroquel? I used to drink more, but cut it back to only once a day last few months. Last liver test was alright, but bilirubin levels were high normal. thank you.
Avatar f tn These type of side effects are often worse in the beginning but often improve over time. Make sure to inform your psychiatrist about this and they can tell you how to proceed. Part of it may be the interactions between the various medications. Are they in the process of transferring you from one medication to another? Lamictal requires a very slow titration rate but only a psychiatrist would understand the clinical specifics and how they apply.
2010625 tn?1329372056 After I have been awake for a while they have slowly went away I am still a tiny bit dizzy, and drowsy still after 2 cups of coffee I just feel like I am not waking up still feel half asleep. Does anyone know if these side effects are serious or if it is something that will go away as I get use to the medication. I know I should be asking my doctor these questions but it is the weekend and my doctor is not in his office until Monday.
605458 tn?1539228808 I used to take regular Seroquel with no sexual side effects. I was recently changed to Seroquel XR and the side effects are so different than regular Seroquel, and one of them is sexual side effects. Anyone else? The other new med I am on is Amitiza, which is for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and didn't have sexual side effects listed. I have been under a lot of new stress lately, but that has never caused this problem in the past.
678069 tn?1254422777 Hair loss is really the least of your worries. You say you believe you can handle the physical and emotional side effects but worried about hair loss. My fellow hepper, as you get into treatment, each day presents it own type of challenge. Expect the unexpected. You must mentally prepare yourself. As your treatment process continues, concentrate on what is really important, keeping yourself going, not the superficial stuff like hair loss. Good Luck - Don't sweat the small stuff!!
1696867 tn?1312609591 I started on Abilify for my Bi Polar 2 weeks ago. After 2 days I had to halve the dose, as the side effects were so debilatating (?), but the side effects are still horrendous. I have no ability to concentrate, problems focussing, shake/tremors and no energy at all. The only good thing is that my moods seem better than they have in ages. My question is, how long do I need to put up with the side effects?
915369 tn?1355314810 Ok so I told my psychiatrist everything that came to my mind yesterday, so most of what's been troubling and how my episodes have been and how long they've been lasting and how severe they are or aren't. She said it sounded like I had rapid cycling, asked me how my low and high I was getting and just kept repeating that they get "severe". I thought I was getting better so surprise surprise for me!
Avatar m tn Prior to deciding to embark on a medication regimen with Seroquel, please read over the entire prescribing information, as well as speak with your physician regarding side-effects. While not as common as the other side-effects I listed above, involuntary jaw movements can occur causing chipped teeth. Best of luck in your decision.
Avatar f tn 25 mg. is the smallest dose of Seroquel available and is a subclinical dose but you have to follow your psychiatrist's instructions but it should not be a big deal. If the insomnia doesn't go away in time you could ask your psychiatrist about Rozerem which is a sleep aide that is an FDA approved medication that is safe and non addictive and works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle.
Avatar f tn Yes I did experience agitation at higher doses of Seroquel and that is a potential side effect but each person responds differently. However that is a very low dose of Seroquel so that should be less of a concern. Also sometimes when antipsychotics cause temporary movement disorders such as akathesia that create motor restlessness that can create feelings of agitation and that can be treated with a side effect pill within your psychiatrist's discretion.
Avatar m tn I am on seroquel but also with lamictal 200mg/day -- the combination seems to be helping me without the excess drowsiness or other unpleasant side effects. Eventually the doc says I may be able to get off the seroquel and just keep the lamictal. The fewer number of meds, the better I like it. Always discuss side effects with your doctor and many times he can adjust your dosage or add another med to ease the side effects you are experiencing. No need to suffer any longer.
