Avatar m tn Hello, A clinical examination is must before deciding the correct treatment for your condition. Few common side effects of Seroquel are dizziness, drowsiness, tired feeling; increased appetite, weight gain etc.Auditory hallucinations can be drug induced pr due to any disease affecting the central nervous system. You should get a clinical examination done. Tests like fasting blood sugar, postprandial blood sugar, and thyroid tests may be needed. Consult your doctor and get evaluated.
Avatar m tn Prior to deciding to embark on a medication regimen with Seroquel, please read over the entire prescribing information, as well as speak with your physician regarding side-effects. While not as common as the other side-effects I listed above, involuntary jaw movements can occur causing chipped teeth. Best of luck in your decision.
Avatar n tn Doing so can cause major withdrawals and horrible side effects. I have a link that tells you all about seroquel. I do not reccomend you read it, as it will only scare you off it. I did not even look closely at the page. But I will leave it up to you. Blessings - Blu http://www.rxlist.com/seroquel-side-effects-drug-center.
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar f tn My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.
Avatar f tn tegretol is supposedly the safest among the 3 classical drugs for BP. the other 2 are lithium and valproex. Tegretal is not used much in the USA because of drug interactions and sometimes replaced by it's weaker cousin trileptal. i tried it myself 2 years ago but couldn't tolerate because of the headaches it caused me. However i assume it's better than the other 2. look nothing of the sort as which is better than such and such it's all related to the person.
Avatar f tn Everyone reacts to medication differently. A medication that might work for me might be disastrous for you. You might have started at too high of a dose or increased your dose too fast, you might be on too high of a dose for your body or it might just simply be the wrong medication for you. I would inform your doctor of these side effects right away if you haven't done so already.
Avatar m tn I am on seroquel but also with lamictal 200mg/day -- the combination seems to be helping me without the excess drowsiness or other unpleasant side effects. Eventually the doc says I may be able to get off the seroquel and just keep the lamictal. The fewer number of meds, the better I like it. Always discuss side effects with your doctor and many times he can adjust your dosage or add another med to ease the side effects you are experiencing. No need to suffer any longer.
Avatar m tn the problem watch your diet to avoid diabetes, they say cataract too but all bloody meds do one thing or the other. at least seroquel is now old enough and its adverse effects are known almost and the patent will end soon so not only astra zeneca will produce it. the proof it's good is that the company made a huge profit from it however all the AP'sa are called "crisis meds" i.e. i am skeptical abt their long term stabilization.
Avatar m tn They sometimes have that as an unwanted side effect (drowsiness), but their intended purpose is otherwise. Using them for sleep is hit or miss, because as we all know antidepressants and antipsychotics produce different side effects in different people.
Avatar f tn OK, I'm a tad confused here, so bear with me. Did you have a problem with anxiety BEFORE you saw the doctor about what I'm assuming was some sort of stomach trouble? And now, since you saw this doctor two weeks ago, you've had an on-going panic attack? Correct me if I have anything wrong here. Your doc put you on quetiapine (Seroquel) which is an antipsychotic. You said it knocked you out the first night, but now you need "lots more" to fall asleep.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I take all my Seroquel at night 400 mg. It knocks me out at night, but I still have daytime drowsiness.
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?
1965148 tn?1354978634 however, my mood stabilizer is what helped to keep me on a more even keel. The side effects from the Seroquel should wear off once your body adjusts to the medication.
Avatar n tn your illness may have induced the hallucinations, it is very common for bipolar patients to experience these types of hallucinations the lamectical is know to cause Abnormal Dreams, Insomnia, Hypnagogic Hallucination call your doctor for an immediate appointment, you were not having these side effects before you introduced the lamectal, so your doctor would be the one who can work that out also check out http://www.adawebsite.
802234 tn?1237830136 My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.
Avatar n tn My daughter is currently taking a combination of depakote, lamictal, and abilify for a mood disorder. However, her doctor feels the overwhelming problem with her is an anxiety disorder that is not being addressed by the current meds. The doctor wants to ween her off the lamictal completely and start her on klonopin wafers. I am concerned about the "drowsiness" side effects. Do these eventually go away?
