Seroquel side effects doses

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel side effects doses

seroquel

Avatar f tn Yes when I took Seroquel I did at higher doses experience tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) which is a listed side effect of Seroquel on the medication package insert and website. Muscle stiffness of any kind can be a part of extra pyramidal side effects (temporary movement disorders) which can occur with any antipsychotic and can be treated with a side effect pill.
Avatar f tn Seroquel is one of the 'atypical antipsychotics' that came out about ten years ago. They were first used for serious mental illness like schizophrenia, and then for bipolar disorder, and then for the thing we 'call' bipolar in children, that really isn't bipolar disorder.
Avatar m tn Prior to deciding to embark on a medication regimen with Seroquel, please read over the entire prescribing information, as well as speak with your physician regarding side-effects. While not as common as the other side-effects I listed above, involuntary jaw movements can occur causing chipped teeth. Best of luck in your decision.
Avatar n tn Doing so can cause major withdrawals and horrible side effects. I have a link that tells you all about seroquel. I do not reccomend you read it, as it will only scare you off it. I did not even look closely at the page. But I will leave it up to you. Blessings - Blu http://www.rxlist.com/seroquel-side-effects-drug-center.
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar f tn My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.
Avatar f tn this happens to me also tremors left side of body but my tongue moves its crazy to have permanent side effects TD keep trying your not alone ok
Avatar f tn Yes I did experience agitation at higher doses of Seroquel and that is a potential side effect but each person responds differently. However that is a very low dose of Seroquel so that should be less of a concern. Also sometimes when antipsychotics cause temporary movement disorders such as akathesia that create motor restlessness that can create feelings of agitation and that can be treated with a side effect pill within your psychiatrist's discretion.
Avatar f tn Before that I tried risperdone, haldol, and lithium and had horrible side effects from each. Currently I am at 150mg seroquel and 2mg Abilify (started about 2-3 weeks ago) and I just stopped dalmane 15mg yesterday.. So I had an experience while I was on 200mg seroquel around 3 months ago that I started to feel detached from my self, confused and disoriented. This happened and I my anxiety took over. I wasn't able to sleep more than an hour or two and I was wandering around the neighborhood.
980052 tn?1262967079 t wake up and get with it for a good hour! I have heard this drug has some bad side effects does anyone have any experience with seroquel ar advice on how long I should continue it, side effects I should be looking for or any precautions? I hear good and bad about it I just want to know what peoples experiences with it have been. I am constantly waking up hungry through the night, it doesn't knock me out completely..which is good I guess it does help me sleep!
Avatar f tn hello. I have been on seroquel for maybe a year. I've taken different doses but lately it's like it is accumulating in my system and making me extremely sleepy. I was on 300 mg, then went to 200 mg and that helped. Soon, I went down to 100 mg due to the fatigue. It got to the point where I wasn't waking up. I am always groggy in the mornings but it started being all day and night. I drive a lot for my job and I wasn't paying any attention at all.
574118 tn?1305135284 d want to increase it, not decrease it. A Seroquel increase is probably a better thing to try first. And side effects often decrease after a couple of weeks. If it's available where you are, Latuda (lurasidone) just got approval for bipolar depression. It might be too expensive, though. Also, have you tried lamotrigine? Abilify is another good suggestion.
802234 tn?1237830136 My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.
Avatar m tn Calcium should be not taken in more than 400 mg doses at a time due to possible adding to coronary placquing at higher doses..... Omeprazole has been in the "medical" news a LOT and it was not made to be taken long term. Everything from risk of infections, pneumonia, and heart disease as well as increased risk of stomach cancer. I am not allowed to refer you to my blog but I know that Dr.Mercola did a great blog with references on his website so you can read more THERE.
574118 tn?1305135284 I had tachycardia from Seroquel at higher doses and I told my psychiatrist at the time and he said it was not of concern (in me) but its important to report any side effects to your psychiatrist of any kind. I do know that for me Seroquel did not work until it reached 300 mg. and I believe that is the lowest effective dose but you could ask your psychiatrist about that.
574118 tn?1305135284 1. There is a lot of trial and error, but you didn't go to 4 years of medical school with another 4 years of residency, so it's not the best idea to assume you know what type of trial and error is right. It can also be dangerous to screw around with your med levels if you do it too quickly. 2. I'm not entirely sure what you're asking here.
607502 tn?1288247540 Why are you changing from seroquel to lamictal? I am just curious as I perhaps too might be changing from seroquel to something else in the near future. It's some unwanted side effects for me.I tried stopping the med unsupervised (don't do this at home) and I had a real job sleeping afterwards, so perhaps be prepared for that (I am back on now until I can see my pdoc).
Avatar n tn I took seroquel for several months and the side effects never went away. I gained 30 lbs, lost a lot of hair, woke up with sore joints, couldn't even walk when I first woke up because my feet and legs and hips were so sore. Felt like a zombie all day long, so tired all the time. After stopping the seroquel within a week I felt so much better. Now on Lamictal and Lexapro and that seems to be working for me. No more so joints, fatigue, hair grew back.
574118 tn?1305135284 Dont think you should get too worried as you are anyways taking subthereuptic doses of both Seroquel and Risperidone.Side effects of Risdone are seen between doses of 2-16 mg and that of Seroquel are seen with doses more than 400 mg.So that way you are safe and at those doses there is no cumulative effect.
Avatar m tn I have also seen the effects of to much seroquel.. Affects motor skills speech and memory also has a tendency to build on it's self so make sure you have at least 8 or more hours between doses..
1134609 tn?1269272200 I have been on Lamictal for 8 months and evened out very well. However, over the last few weeks, I started to cycle again, my doctor put me on Lithium. It seems to be helping; I'm not really cycling and it's kind of pulled me out of the depressive funk I've been in for awhile. However, I am having a hard time sleeping since starting the Lithium. I've read that many of the side effects from the medication dissipate after awhile; will the insomnia go away as well?
