Seroquel side effects dosage

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel side effects dosage

seroquel

Avatar f tn My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.
Avatar f tn Everyone reacts to medication differently. A medication that might work for me might be disastrous for you. You might have started at too high of a dose or increased your dose too fast, you might be on too high of a dose for your body or it might just simply be the wrong medication for you. I would inform your doctor of these side effects right away if you haven't done so already.
Avatar n tn Doing so can cause major withdrawals and horrible side effects. I have a link that tells you all about seroquel. I do not reccomend you read it, as it will only scare you off it. I did not even look closely at the page. But I will leave it up to you. Blessings - Blu http://www.rxlist.com/seroquel-side-effects-drug-center.
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar f tn I thought I remember a while back someone posted that they were doing OK on Lamictal but when the doc increased the dosage, the person started having anxiety attacks. Is that true? I recently went up to 200mg/day and I've started having anxiety and now wondering if I should ask the doc to decrease the dosage. He also discontinued the Seroquel but now I'm having major depressive episodes.
2010625 tn?1329372056 After I have been awake for a while they have slowly went away I am still a tiny bit dizzy, and drowsy still after 2 cups of coffee I just feel like I am not waking up still feel half asleep. Does anyone know if these side effects are serious or if it is something that will go away as I get use to the medication. I know I should be asking my doctor these questions but it is the weekend and my doctor is not in his office until Monday.

Avatar m tn My question is, are the symptoms I experience side effects of Depakote or withdrawal from Xanax???? Please help me!!!!! I am sttill taking .5 Xanax Xr in the mn and .5 in the evening so it is still there, I've just reduced the dosage!!! I also take small dosage of 600mg lithium, 25mg of lamictal and 2.5mg o Lexapro a day. Most of them my pdoc wants to get rid off. Thanks!!
Avatar f tn s unlikely you have tardive dyskenisia (TD) from your Seroquel use as it usually results from long term use. Seroquel does not cause blepharospasms, but benzodiazepine withdrawal can. Dry eye can also cause blepharospasms. Blepharospasms are not necessarily permanent, but they can be. Some people will have it resolve after a few days to a week. If it persists, there are some treatments that you could talk to your doctor about, such as botox.
Avatar n tn I just got my blood results back..TSH 3.2 T-4Free low @.74..the reason I went for the blood tests is I was losing a lot of hair..and I know if you're losing "good" hair ..that is the 1st sign that something is wrong..Had a b12 serum test and it came back at 350.. Did interferon 2 years ago for 48 wks and NEVER had a TSH level over 2.0 ! That was my biggest concern on interferon.. !! I have been extremely tired, achey, and of course, the hair loss..
Avatar f tn Denicalis does bring up a good point. Some times side effects will disappear, and it really depends on the dosage you are current taking. Certain doses of medication have higher risks for particular side effects. More than likely you will be tinkering around with different dosage levels, if you find a medication that works for you, but are trying to find less adverse side effects. I am curious if your Psychiatrist weaned you back down to 50 mg from 150 mg.
Avatar m tn I have been out of work for 2 months with bad anxiety, nightmares, dizziness. My physiologist prescribed zofoft 200mg. My question is about seroquel he has me taken 50mg at night. Is this drug safe and does it work for anyone . Just don't know about all the side effects. Please help if any information.
1965148 tn?1354978634 however, my mood stabilizer is what helped to keep me on a more even keel. The side effects from the Seroquel should wear off once your body adjusts to the medication.
Avatar f tn s also important to give a med a chance to work and often times the side effects will go away. Be it the length of time or the dosage amount. If the side effects are too bad then you try another med. Also starting a med one at a time helps you to know what is helping and if your getting any side effects from that med. It helps you to know what med is doing what. There are certain drugs that I have tried with bad side effects but they have worked great for some people.
Avatar f tn Normal is a confusing question when it comes to medication -- it's a free for all out there with doctors. If the side effects are more than you can handle, it's time to talk to your psychiatrist about it.
Avatar m tn To my knowledge, neither klonopin nor seroquel would be first line treatments for insomnia. Seroquel is certainly sedating, but that's a side effect, not its purpose. It can also cause pretty severe weight gain and diabetes, so to take it just for insomnia seems like overkill. As for your withdrawal, are you in withdrawal? You don't state what your symptoms are. Not everyone gets bad withdrawals, in fact most don't.
Avatar f tn depending what you are on it for and your dosage depends on how likely you are to get side effects ( lower the dose less likely to get serious side effects but not always)
4762310 tn?1362165935 Ok , because i was put on seroquel 50 mg and 10 citalopram and where on them for 6 weeks and they did nothing at all, so he upped the seroquel to 100mg and citalopram to 20mg and its been 2 weeks and still nothing , :S
802234 tn?1237830136 My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.
574118 tn?1305135284 Hi, I understand where you are coming from - I started with 150mg and then it crept up to 600mg (now on 500mg) and depend on this dose for sleep so much that I cannot seem to lower it further. Makes me feel 'dependent' on the drug, and the side effects are troublesome, and even on this dose I still find myself taking risks and manic symptoms break through. Seeing the pdoc on Monday to see if I can change to another AP, will let you know how I get on.
Avatar f tn Hi. I've been on Seroquel and then Seroquel XR for about two years now. I was initially prescribed it for bipolar mania, and the resultant insomnia. I have had panic attacks before prior to taking Seroquel, however never constantly, and never for no reason at all. I would have a panic attack after a traumatic event, or when I smoked pot as a teenager, but otherwise I never had them.
Avatar n tn But then again, it is such a small dose, that I was wondering if he would only feel the side-effects and none of the rewards. Does anyone else know?
5082295 tn?1371250911 I just now got my Seroquel (brand name med) and I am having the same side effects I did when I 1st started years ago. Can it really make this much of a difference? It’s the same dose, but I mean im falling asleep all thru out the day! Its crazy & getting a little scary. If I sit long at work I begin to nod off and so I have been cutting it in half and it seems like its not so severe. But im also noticing the benefit of the med reduced bc im not getting my full dose.
