1385254 tn?1279537549 Can seroquel cause breathing problems? I've been taking them for about four years and as of the last month my breathing has been really bad at night when I take them. It's getting worse and the breathing trouble happens within about fifteen to twenty minutes after taking them whether I lay down and go to bed right away or stay up and active.
Avatar n tn Will this drug cause more problems or will it help me sleep and get rid of disphoria feelings?
Avatar m tn It is suppose to be genetic but no one in my family has this. So it has to be the seroquel. If anyone has eye problems on seroquel make sure you go to a cornea specialist and get checked fo KERATOCONUS. You could also give me a call at 8154822704. 534105 tn?1226157177 People differ on how difficult it is to stop a drug -- some have no problems, some moderate problems, some intractable problems. You seem to be having some mild problems so far. Seroquel is a powerful drug and was never intended to be used for sleep, but docs do get to do this once a drug is approved -- they can then use it for anything they want.
Avatar m tn Has anyone taken Seroquel and anti-biotics and are now experiencing heart problems? Do these issues subside, I stopped the seroquel when this happened?
Avatar m tn My brother takes Seroquel in the PM and says it knocks him out. One of my problems is sleep. Can Seroquel be used on an , as needed, basis.
Avatar m tn I would want to know from the members of this forum about how many people are using Seroquel only as a sleeping aid in doses of 25 mg and 50 mg.All suggestions and answers are welcome.
Avatar f tn s for approx 30years) takes seroquel with no problems. In fact, he has noticed a decrease in his nightmares and odd hallucinations. so if your doctor has recommended it, it may be worth a try. They should normally suggest starting with a small dose, so you can see how you go. You can always run it past your neurologist too if you are still unsure.
Avatar n tn Atypical antipsychotics can have a lot of side effects. If you think your memory problems are from the seroquel, talk to your doctor about changing your meds around. If they're for schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, you'll need to stay on some sort of antipsychotic, but different ones have different side effect profiles for different people. If it's for bipolar or as an add on for depression, you can switch drug classes entirely, which might work better for you.
Avatar f tn I personally take Lamicatl Welbutrin Trazodone Seroquel These are my bipolar meds all though I do have physical health problems that I also take meds for. Do you have an anxiety disorder as well? I take the seroquel and trazodone for sleep and it works well. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Seroquel is one of the 'atypical antipsychotics' that came out about ten years ago. They were first used for serious mental illness like schizophrenia, and then for bipolar disorder, and then for the thing we 'call' bipolar in children, that really isn't bipolar disorder.
518117 tn?1429276273 Namaste, Explanation of the issues (and sequence of events) surrounding the lawsuits that claim that the use of Seroquel, Zyprexa and Risperdal caused health problems such as pancreatitis and diabetes and stroke. Zyprexa, like Risperdal and Seroquel, has been associated with serious side effects in patients, especially those who have already been diagnosed with diabetes.
Avatar f tn I am about to switch from olanzapine to seroquel. Is it ok to just stop taking olanzapine and start taking seroquel? I am on a very low dose of olanzapine.
Avatar m tn My new psychiatrist switched me to Seroquel 100mg which I started taking on March 20, 2009. My question is can Seroquel help me on my Klonopin withdrawal? There were nights I can't sleep. I read an article that Antipsychotics should be avoided may aggravate benzodiazepine withdrawal. Please read: http://www.bcnc.org.uk/drugs.html. I am scared, please help.
Avatar n tn A new dr and many many months later, he is only now in a position to get back a part of his life, being psychotic, unemployed, and a danger to him self and others was not enough for his original dr to see seroquel as being the problem. All his ticks, tremors and limb control problems disapeared once the seroquel had been out of his system, oh and all the schizophrenic symptoms are now also gone.
574118 tn?1305135284 You can build up tolerance to a medication, but I wouldn't say Seroquel is an addictive med. I certainly experienced no problems (I had others related, which made me stop, but addiction is not one I experienced nor have heard of). So, yes, you could need to increase in Seroquel as your symptoms change/increase. At the same time, Seroquel dosage could stay the same and another drug be added or the Risperdal be increased. It will be dependent upon your case.
3178266 tn?1344536316 Don't you have a doctor prescribing you these meds? Almost all of them are contraindicated for pregnant women, though given how hard it is to quit them that doesn't mean quitting is workable. The companies who make mood regulating drugs are all being sued right now for birth defects they didn't warn anyone about. What you need to do is talk to your doctor, carefully and thoughtfully weigh the risks, and make an informed decision.
809366 tn?1238749581 I had problems sleeping and my pdoc put me on ambien, then lunesta then to valium which none worked so now he put me on 50mg of seroquel this made me sleep and then some. I am feeling like I am drugged and scared to take the next dose and scared not to as well. My pdoc is new to me and never gave an emergency number, he will not be back in his office till tuesday and also this coupled with my lexapro put me in a mixed state and feeling slighty suicidal this happens when I cycle rapidly.
Avatar f tn Hi. I've been on Seroquel and then Seroquel XR for about two years now. I was initially prescribed it for bipolar mania, and the resultant insomnia. I have had panic attacks before prior to taking Seroquel, however never constantly, and never for no reason at all. I would have a panic attack after a traumatic event, or when I smoked pot as a teenager, but otherwise I never had them.
1115572 tn?1258804496 I am on Seroquel for Bipolar Disorder. Had 3 eye examinations, one of them at a community health check which said I have cataract and need operation. Second examination at specialist eye hospital - see no cataract. Third examination - slight cataract. I am 60 and the doctor at the eye hospital (before he came up with a verdict of "see no cataract" commented - cataract at 60? What is going on in this world? My father was diabetic which probably contributed to a stroke.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Bipolar Type 2 last year and after trying a million meds, my perfect cocktail was Pexeva 20 mg, Lithium 300 mg and Seroquel 300 mg. I was happier than I had ever been, but the Seroquel caused major weight gain and major sleepiness-I was falling asleeo at work. I went off Seroquel and tried Abilify and one other (cant remember) but they did not work. I am now backon Seroquel 300 miligrams along with my Lithium and Pexeva.
605458 tn?1539228808 PenelopeAnn, just to let you know, I haven't noticed any sexual problems with regular Seroquel (which you said you didn't, right?). I've had that before from I forget what, though. To anyone, regarding my cataract formation...My doctor suspects Seroquel is the cause because I've been on it for a few years and it is a known side effect. There is no history of (premature) cataracts in my family.
