Avatar n tn You may immediately review the Warnings statement about hyperglycemia and diabetes mellitus in the SEROQUEL Prescribing Information by visiting the web site www.Seroquel.com. Updated package inserts containing the additional hyperglycemia and diabetes mellitus information will accompany the medication in the near future and you should, of course, refer to the insert for full Prescribing Information.

802234 tn?1237830136 My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.
Avatar m tn Prior to deciding to embark on a medication regimen with Seroquel, please read over the entire prescribing information, as well as speak with your physician regarding side-effects. While not as common as the other side-effects I listed above, involuntary jaw movements can occur causing chipped teeth. Best of luck in your decision.
Avatar m tn Be sure your prescribing doctor or doctors know and ask them. Your pharmacist can also give a generic answer, that is if the combination is an absolute no-no. I am sure you can get an "internet" answer by doing a search on "ambien and serequel interactions?
Avatar f tn Yes it will take a while for the Seroquel to build up to an effective dose as i was just started. Also Strattera can as an adverse side effect sometimes increase or cause aggression so although you should leave the dose of all medications in place it would be essential to discuss this with the doctor or psychiatrist who is prescribing the medications. You can find the information on the medication website, package instructions or P.D.R.
Avatar n tn I have been on Seroquel for over 2 years and it really has been my bestfriend. I have just added Latuda to the mix and take them both at night with a whopping 300 calorie snack. That is because of the Latuda. Have to take that stuff with food. I was wondering about asking my doctor to add a little topomax to my diet. I know that it's a weight loss pill in addition to other things, I gained quite a lot of weight recently due to quitting smoking and my metabolism has COMPLETELY stopped!!
Avatar m tn I have found that the comity of the FDA think that seroquel as too much health risks to be prescribe for anxiety. That doesnt seems to prevent psychiatrist to prescribe it whatsoever... I would like to understand how we do prescribe a medication that was design for squizophrenia, which is probably a brain degenerative illness in the first place, that may shrink non-squizophrenic patient brain around the mesolimbic pathway without knowing the exact outcome in the long term?
Avatar f tn Yes I gained a fair amount of weight on Depakoate (another brand name for Epilim) and Seroquel. I do know I had less of a problem with weight gain with Lamictal and that among the current generation of antipsychotics, Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris are the least likely to cause weight gain but each person responds differently to each medication. Ask your psychiatrist about available options.
Avatar f tn I'm on a med called seroquel and in the last three weeks (since an increase in the med) i've gone from 108 to 122 pounds! That's 14 pounds! And all the weight went only to my stomach, it looks like im pregnant. The meds make me crave sugar and hungry all the time, i binge eat a lot. My doctor said that the med im on is a weight gaining med, so its normal. Other then that he told me to exercise which i do anyways. The med also makes me really badly constipated and gassy.
459981 tn?1212193981 so ive been on seroquel for only like a week now. 25 mg and my ob doc called today and said she does not want me on this med. Im so confused. her reasoning makes sense though. having been my ob and family practitioner for 2 years she knows that normally durring my pregnancy i am very level and have never shown any signs of hypomania. So her thoughts are that i should be re evaluated after my pregnancy.
625892 tn?1245963714 I've just changed docs and now he has put me on seroquel, i was on lithium. I was wondering is seroquel better than lithium? I was only diagnosed 18mths ago and already been on three different meds???
Avatar f tn s *real* stubborn. he wants me to take some seroquel xr and i agreed because i am trying to please everyone, inc. me. when your anxiety and depression are too high-octane for ADs and benzos, as you may know, sometimes they add seroquel XR to help, esp. if extreme anxiety and depression are dis-integrating your thoughts a bit as well. happens to the best of us!
Avatar m tn I would want to know from the members of this forum about how many people are using Seroquel only as a sleeping aid in doses of 25 mg and 50 mg.All suggestions and answers are welcome.
5954444 tn?1377473390 See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep. Lofexidine is not available in the US but it is very similar to Clonidine so it will be helpful for the creepy-crawly feeling and control of blood pressure variations. It will make your withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter.
Avatar m tn Has anyone taken Seroquel and anti-biotics and are now experiencing heart problems? Do these issues subside, I stopped the seroquel when this happened?
Avatar f tn That was a really good post thank you very much. My anxiety last time it came it wouldn't go away I mean day after day with no break other than if I put some kind of a pill like Seroquel at night. And I didn't have any benzos. I can understand and tolerate anxiety and use coping skills if I knew how long it would last. Not knowing how long it will last is torture.
Avatar f tn Seroquel has now worked for 3 nights of sleep. I take clonazapam and lamtrogine. What could I add as decrease 1 of these? Is tegretol a good choice? Long ago I took lithium, but ballooned up in weight. Suggestions to discuss w/my doctor?
Avatar f tn I think they're confused. If you read the full prescribing information, it's the PILL that screws with the lamotrigine, not the other way around. It's not like a lot of other anticonvulsants. From http://epilepsy.med.nyu.edu/treatment/medications/lamotrigine "Lamotrigine has no effect on other seizure medicines. And unlike some other seizure medicines, it does not reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills.
574118 tn?1305135284 t have epilepsy. If you read the prescribing information (easily googled, not hidden behind pay walls), they all have dosage instructions for bipolar as well, often with different target doses depending on what you're treating. There are at least some people who believe that epilepsy, migraines, and bipolar might all be part of some broad spectrum of related disorders.
Avatar n tn Hey, guys, heroin did start as a medication. It was thought to be less addictive than morphine -- yeah, right. Also, check out the latest on the FDA and the manufacturer of Seroquel withholding information about it, namely that it doesn't work any better than the medications it replaced, has significant side effects of rapid weight gain and diabetes, and other things.
Avatar f tn I also taking seroquel, lamictal, lexapro and l tyrosine for bipolar depression. Do u think the withdrawal from the tramadol will be bad? Should I taper? What should I expect? Please help me. I'm scared. Thanks.
Avatar n tn There appear to be warnings about liver damage with Seroquel in combination with alcohol. The full information would be available on the medication website. It would be essential to discuss all this wth your psychiatrist as to potential health effects. Also drinkng can make many medications less effective. It would be worthwhile to discuss this with your psychiatrist as well.
