Hello everyone. I am on my second pregnancy (33 weeks). I am on seroquel low dose for very bad insomnia. I've used it all along. My first pregnancy i did bot use it and my daughter is very smart. I was wondering if any of you have used seroquel and delivered a healthy baby.
Does anybody know if it is a significant risk to take seroquel during pregnancy? is there any other Mums o Mums to be who took it through their pregnancy? Thanks everyone.
today i went to see my phsychiatrist and he took me off seroquel also saying that seroquel causes deformaties. In confused and scared because i had asked two other doctors and a phychiatrist (not mine)and they told me seroquel was ok to take.
The seroquel seems to be working very well - I was starting w/d last night and w/in 30mins of taking seroquel I was able to sleep a whole 8hrs - but I'm worried it's b/c I still had sub in my system.
I took Seroquel at the beginning of my pregnancy and my baby boy, now almost 7 months old, is perfectly normal. I had started it a few months before getting pregnant for depression because I had troubles getting over my last miscarriage. My MD had told me it was OK to take it while trying to get pregnant. When I discovered I was pregnant I called a baby hotline in my state and they told me Seroquel was OK.
I was wondering if anyone knew of someplace to get really good information on taking Seroquel and Wellbutrin during pregnancy. My daughter is 6 wks pregnant and is taking 50mg of Seroquel and 300mg of Wellbutrin a day. I do not really want her to stop her meds but I don't want her baby to have a birth defect or for her to miscarry.
i have fully recovered and i have found out i am now pregnant with my 1st baby i am really happy but i have decided to stop all my meds as i do not want to harm the baby but i can already feel myself becoming unwell again and the lack of sleep is killing me too flash back are as bad as ever i was on serequel 300mg morning and 300mg at night if anyone could offer any advice on how they coped during pregnancy it would be much appreciated kind regards
I was taking 300mg but I was an angry basket case the higher dose calms me down a lot. Last pregnancy the pdoc took me off of it and I was in the hospital for 6 weeks. Seroquel does cause alot of daytime drowsiness. My pregnancy has been awful too. You can get a new doctor if you think that is what would help you better. I had to get a new OB GYN and I felt good that I did. Why did he take you off of the other stuff?
I have cronic insomnia and my phychiatrist put me on seroquel for this pregnancy. I am 33 weeks and have been using seroquel during the whole pregnancy. I am extremely nervous if I am doing any harm to my little new baby girl. I am having panic attacks this week just thinking about it. I just hope for the best to all our babies.

Hi I am on Seroquel and Effexor because I suffer from borderline personality disorder and these meds are keeping me very well. However I want to become pregnant. is anybody else out there on prescription meds and pregnant? I am terribly worried as every psychiatrist has a different opinion on the subject. Please help.
5mg BID of klonopin, but I'm on trileptal- 600mg in the AM and then 1200mg HS, and I take 600mg of Seroquel at night as well. If I become pregnant what risks will I be putting my fetus through? I've done as much research as I could, and haven't found much of anything in regaurds to what I want to know.
Pregnancy is stressful, and raising kids is even more stressful. Raising a child with a disability is extremely stressful even when you weren't doing anything (like taking medication) that could have caused the disabling condition. A child with any of the conditions listed by the MD above would require a lot of extra medical care. Have you considered the effect that giving birth to a child with an iatrogenic (caused by the medical profession) birth defect may have on you and your illness?
I suffer from anxiety/panic disorder. My doctor does'nt want me taking Klonopin, because it's a Class D medication for pregnancy. I'm going Nuts because I have to take it and I'm worried about the risks to my baby. I was weaned off my klonopin as af Sept 16,2007 but I had a refill left 2mg 60 pills I had to refill it, because I cannot cope without it. Can you please get back to me and tell me about your baby girl.
I am having bad anxiety and I am taking seroquel 200mg at night and neutriton(sp). He reduced my neutrion to two pill 300mg a day but I did much better on the three, :( he said to 400mg of seroquel but that kills me and i hate it. is the axiety form my bipolar or me recovering from taking pain pills? Will the anxiety stop after I have baby.
I am currently taking depakote which I know I will need to switch because of the risks associated with pregnancy. I really want to have my own children, but I am worried about a lot of things. I am worried about taking medications while I am pregnant. I am worried about NOT taking medications while I am pregnant. I am worried about what I will do for sleep.
1st I will start off by saying Seroquel is pretty safe to take during pregnancy, ive seen a lot of woman take it throughout their pregnancy and the baby was perfectly normal.
I cried off and on for a few months after being diagnosed knowing I will never experience the joys of pregnancy. I am looking for some support here. We are excited to adopt and are planning to get on the waiting list for a baby as soon as we are married, since it is 3-7 years long. I guess what I am looking for is false hope? is there any medications a woman can take during pregnancy. I have done research and have not had any luck.
I was on pain meds during my entire pregnancy for back pain and at the end of my pregnancy was on one called oxycodone. (very strong). I tapered my dose and when my son was born had been on a lowered dose for a few days and then nothing for almost 36hrs. He didn't suffer withdrawals or anything because I did things right. (and got lucky) I've heard that zoloft is alright during pregnancy.
I went to the clinic today because, though late enough in pregnancy I have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes.I had the initial test in my 28 week for one hour glucose and it came back high but not yet gestational. So I went back for a second one for two hours and it came back high but still not high enough. I then did another two hour glucose test and it was a little over 11.0.
I just found out I'm 7 weeks along, my husband and I had decided to terminate the pregnancy mainly because I am on a number of medications that scare both of us. We saw the doctor yesterday and set a date for the procedure. Now we are both having second thoughts, this is not a choice we want to make. Can anyone tell me if the below listed medications are a concern or should be cause to go through with the termination? Concerta 54mg, Prozac 60mg, Zovirax 800mg, Rubinol 4mg, seroquel 100mg.
plus age of course. I am on 20mg of lexapro, 100mg of seroquel at night, and 50mg of Naltrexone GH. After reading some of the info online about the risk factors of taking certain meds while pregnant, I am definately in that catagory as all three drugs are in the C catagory. I don't want to wait another 2 days before I get to see my GP and want to start weaning off now. I think I need to make this decision, what do you think and how do you suggest I go about it?
You see, pregnancy tests are meant to be taken AT LEAST one month after your missed period. The pregnancy hormone is detectable usually after 4 months after conceiving, but higher at the 6-8 weeks time, hence taking the test at least one month post-missed period. Your weight gain is most likely attributed to your medications. Those medications have that side effect and it is very common.
I have been prescribed valium and seroquel for awhile now, and I have recently found out that I am pregnant. is it safe to take these medication during my pregnancy? could I have already caused harm? These are very hard medications to just stop taking, should I ask my doctor for something else?
