the doctor put my husband on seroquel for anxiety. i was on them last year from my psychiatrist for sleep. of course i can't gauge how they worked because i was just adding them to the stew as it were. his are extended release. mine were not. the doctor gave him samples to last 1 month. he seems to be doing well on them, but i know my husband. these are going to be expensive even with insurance.

It depends on the specific person but Seroquel does have strong mood stabilization effects. It was complex for myself as a person with schizoaffective disorder or people I knew with bipolar with psychotic features as there a mood stabilizer and an antipsychotic was neccessary. With straight bipolar Seroquel being an FDA approved mood stabilizer should work at a therapeutic dose. You can see if at a proper dose you can tolerate the akathesia.

I had a medicine emergency 2 nights ago. I've been taking two 50mg pills of Seroquel, so far that's the only med that's helped me sleep and in effect helped a bit with my depression. I don't see my original psychiatrist anymore that prescribed this. Well my prescription finished but I knew I had a refill so I waited, and when I went to the pharmacy, they gave 200mg pills instead of 50mg and told me the Psychiatrist had increased it.

10+ years on Seroquel for sleep. That's roughly 3,650 pills and nights of restful sleep. Many say you can't get addicted to sleeping pills....but try saying that after 10 years and your body has no idea how to sleep without it. If I run out of pills or lose them....I lose my ever-loving mind. I cry, I panic, I don't sleep. I've tried a few times before and after so many days of not sleeping I can't control my outbursts.

I was in an extremely emotionally abusive relationship and started taking OTC sleep aids, just so I wouldn't have to deal with the situation. I quickly built up a tolerance to 2 pills, went to 4, 6, 8..... I'm now on Seroquel (200mg/night) and find that that puts me to sleep within the hour... if I'm having an especially rough stressful day and am not getting drowsy by that alone, then I take an ambien.... but otherwise, the Seroquel seems to work just fine...

As I got better, the dosage of Seroquel was decreased and I am now on 200mg and doing well. Seroquel worked wonders for me and I hope it helps you as well.

Would intercourse stimulation be enough to get my groove back? Should I ask my doctor to prescribe me the seroquel I had before since I used seroquel for a long time without it ever having any impact on my erections. It sounds like theyve got you a nice little three course meal of pills all worked out there. Are they giving any of those to you specificaly for sleep? Im unmedicated i dont keep up with the **** they dish out to people so i apologise.

I was put on Seroquel because I couldn't sleep. I was just taking off about 45 days ago. I've been giving all kind of sleeping pills but didn't work. Now I'm taking two 6.25 and a half Ambien.

Also, is it dangerous to cut the pills in half to take a lesser dose? Or should you cut or break the pills at all?

What i think is that my case is escalating to the worse. I stayed 6 years on 2 pills (1 typical AP, 1 atypical AP) + AD. in 2006 i stopped the AP's. after 6 months i got my 1st mania. life changed since then. Of course prior to that i was an OCD person. Either pdoc knew i was bipolar or ignorant. don't know. Perhaps he knew it as he must have known that my situation will get worse THUS he can blackmail me by my multiple visits over the years. No one knows and no ethics here sure.

Seroquel can cause temporary movement disorder such as akathesia and dystonia that can be treated with a side effect pill but what you are describing sounds more like withdrawal symptoms and ones of concern so you should speak to your psychiatrist as soon as possible.

Just got some seroquel today and im a little iffy about it. Im currently taking 25 mg of zoloft, 1mg of ativan as needed, mostly for panic attacks, 1 25 mg hydrochlorothiazide a day for blood pressure, and now they want me to use 1 25 mg tab of seroquel at bedtime. The doctor started me on Lamictal and Seroquel. Well I am out now and still rapid cycling but its coming down from every few hour mood swings to every day mood swings. Your doc is likely to prescribe medication for it. Either sleeping pills or, if dealing with the depression which is the real problem, anti depressants that have sleeping pill qualities inbuilt. I take both and the sleeping one is so effective I take it half an hour before I want to sleep and I'm out. No hangover effect either as many used to have.

Some of them I did not know what they were, but there was a bottle of 90 xanax, 50 zoloft, and something called seroquel?? I took them home and flushed every dang one of them down the toilet. Then I just giggled. (In between crying over my sister!!) Anyway it made me feel strong and in control.
