Seroquel nausea

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel nausea

seroquel

Avatar f tn Seroquel like all atypical antipsychotics has the potential of weight gain although each person responds differently to each medication. The other side effects you mentioned are most probably temporary and should go away in time. However you should definitely discuss all this with your psychiatrist.

Avatar n tn I take meclizine for the nausea, valium for the brain shocks, and now Seroquel for insomnia. Valium I can quit cold turkey(long half-life). Its seroquel that has me concerned because it antagonizes many parts of the brain that Remeron does creating a sedative effect possibly making it addictive. Am I robbing Peter To pay Paul???? Has anyone had experiences with Remeron(mirtazapine) or Seroquel (quetiapine). Particularly withdrawal Experiences.

Avatar m tn i have recently got off seroquel for anxiety and i have been off of it for 4 days now and i am itchy, i am having depressed phases, i am very nauseous when does this go away before the 50mgxr i was on 100mg that was 2 weeks ago should i take another pill or just stop like i have been doing?
1134609 tn?1269272200 My doc and I have decided to start toss regular Seroquel into the mix a few times a day. The XR version didn't work very well for me, but the standard stuff does seem to chill me out and increase my mood. However, I am worried about the weight gain, but I read a lot of conflicting reports. I know that it increases appetite, but that's something that I can control. I read a study where they placed one group on Seroquel, along with a good exercise and diet program.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed seroquel "off-label" for sleep for a long time, but I dont like being on it because it really is powerful like being hit with a jackhammer and is hard to shake off the next day. It has a hangover effect. But it is the only thing that has worked for me with my sleep problems thus i have stayed on it. Also the side effects of weight gain and some other negative side effects are the reason I would love to get off of it.
Avatar f tn I started taking 50mg of Seroquel in December for sleep. Shortly after I began to feel as if I couldn't breathe. I went to the ER and they checked me out and told me it was anxiety. So I saw My nurse practitioner and she prescribed Vistaril 50 mg 3x a day. I room it for a week. Still had the same symptoms. I figured out It was The seroquel. I tried to call the nurse but they are never available so I did not do my homework on this med and quit it cold Turkey.
Avatar f tn I also have nausea and vomiting. But my question is how long until I will be able to get to sleep again? I am Bipolar 2 and am worried about getting unwell without sleep. All I have read says it could be 1-2 weeks. How does one manage this with a mood disorder and with trying to work etc??
5243927 tn?1365511675 I Am currently taking 50mgs of seroquel at night, i was dropped from 400 mgs a night to that. ive been taking 50 mgs now for a month, now my insurance wont pay for it. im on it for my bipolar and for sleep. i cant sleep without it. am i going to go through withdrawals from this?
Avatar f tn I've had two pdocs suggest lamictal and seroquel for bipolar. I think it is a pretty common mix. I was at my most suicidal taking seroquel so I don't think it worked for me, but in hindsight I also didn't give it a fair try. You don't say how you are doing. If you are doing well don't start tampering with things. It is really tempting to play pharmacist but it doesn't always end well. And whatever you do don't go cold turkey off these meds.
Avatar m tn I would be inclined to recommend something like that before Seroquel. Some people have success with Seroquel, but in my own opinion, I think an SSRI is a more reasonable choice, for a few reasons. Obviously, MANY of the symptoms you experienced that were attributed to anxiety, were actually a result of the CM. The plus side of that is, I would imagine a good bit of your anxiety will be alleviated once those symptoms are brought under control post-op. When is your surgery?
Avatar n tn Why are the withdrawal symptoms of seroquel the same as the withdrawal symptoms of heroin? I know that you shouldn't just stop taking it and I understand that it is a non-narcotic medication, but I still would like to know why the symptoms are the same? I am currently taking seroquel for anxiety.
Avatar f tn I gained 40 pounds in six months, need to wear glasses because of my blurry vision, foggy thoughts, bad short-term memory, extreme dry mouth, body spasms, facial tics, grinding teeth, palpitations, slurred speech, and extreme nausea. I have been to many doctors over the years and they all say that these side effects had nothing to do with my medication.
Avatar m tn I've been on allot of medications for bi-polar, including lithium (which gravely affected my stomache), but now I'm on lexapro, seroquel, and temazapan. The seroquel with the temazapan helps me to sleep well, and I don't go thru the tremendous effects of anxiety (expecially when you feel like you are losing your breath with no known reason to do so), but I have gained allot of weight, and I don't eat that much. I have read that seroquel is not all that good.
Avatar f tn By "get it out," I'm assuming you mean feed the fish? Yes, my lithium has gone from 600 to 900, wellbutrin 100mg to 150mg, lamitcal 200 to 300, and seroquel 200 to 400. It seems like my inner ear is the thing causing the problem, not anything i've eaten. I don't know what to tell you, except talk to your doc about it. It could be that you've been fatigued more than usual. I have better days than others and it's beginning to wear off!
1623698 tn?1299161234 ve been changed from Zyprexa to Seroquel because my depression came back. Within days I was extremely dizzy and nauseous and I concluded that it was withdrawal from Zyprexa so the Psychiatrist said to go back on it. Two months later, when I was feeling better, we tried it again but the same thing happened. By this time I was being told that I had an inner ear problem or it was caused by the new med. I was then given Saphris and continued to be dizzy and nauseous.
Avatar f tn i am experiencing extreme anxiety, sleeplessness, feeling cold, anger, seeing dead people in my sleep, nausea, very little appetite, some shakineness. as each day progresses it seems the symptoms become more pronounced. i was put on 400mg of this drug on 1/3/08 after i had brain surgery and been having seizures, i have not had any siezures at this time. is this normal? my neurologist began cutting me back on monday by 100mg every two weeks. help!!!
Avatar f tn However, I did read an article published by the maker of Seroquel acknowledging withdrawal symptoms. If word comes out that Seroquel is physically addicting and causes horrible withdrawals, people probably wouldn't be eager to take it and sales of the drug could drop. Seroquel is huge right now, this website is covered in ads for Seroquel. As far as the insomnia, I took Seroquel before bed because of how sedating it was for me. After 2.
574118 tn?1305135284 The Zofran I take is currently approved for nausea from chemotherapy and the Tenex as a blood pressure medication but both are keeping me from rapid cycling. The sites that were posted as links give more detailed information on how mood stabilizers work if you want to know.
1472584 tn?1289778898 I been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, depression, and they gave me medication to sleep known as Seroquel. Every time I take my prescribed sleeping medication I keep waking up, I am having a sleeping issue that is involving twitching, hard to fall asleep, to stay asleep, and I would call/text people while sleeping. My other symptoms are cold sweat, headaches, nausea. I haven't been eating from Friday October 8th,2010 and it is Tuesday, October 12th,2010. It is a stressful time for me.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have been on Seroquel for 5 years up to 1100 mg (yes, one thousand one hundred) and two years ago because of severe side effects (problems focusing and severe trembling) and because my moods were very stable my psychiatrist accepted to lower it progressively to find a dosage that would allow me to function well with less side-effects. It's been two years of gradually eliminating this drug. Everything went well up until Sept 2011 when I reached 125 mg.
