Seroquel in system

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel in system

seroquel

Avatar m tn Don't quit the Seroquel abruptly -- taper off it. It's interesting you were put on Seroquel and are suffering insomnia -- the only way Valdoxan supposedly works is by increasing the effectiveness of melatonin, which regulates sleep cycles -- in other words, if it works at all for depression, and the evidence appears to be soft, it's by improving sleep.
574118 tn?1305135284 Its a matter of promoting full mood stability than just treating depression only and creating the potential of mania (which can happen with anti depressents prescribed for bipolar especially on their own) and since Seroquel has been FDA approved as a full mood stabilizer and works in that regard (as I remember when I was prescribed it) it has full efficacy in this area but there is still continuing research (unlike its effect on schizophrenia which is known) to understand exactly why.
Avatar n tn Hi my name is Mike and my wife is now currently in the hospital from overdose of seroquel and maybe other medications that she might have.
Avatar f tn the best med i found to extinguish mania is seroquel, in my view the strongest antimanic. so if you are on seroquel then keep going. i find it extremely effective. if your mania is strong then it will take at a fortnight to extinguish it completely, but you would feel the change right away.
574118 tn?1305135284 I have long been questioning why am i taking so much seroquel (150mg) and only 1mg apexidone (egyptian brand for risperidone) which made me try to reduce the first by all means but in vain, until i discovered that my 1mg of the 2nd equals 100 of the 1st. So by taking 150mg seroquel i am in fact taking 1.5mg of risperidone only. I was trying hard to reduce my seroquel by 50mg meaning trying to reduce my apexidone by 0.5mg which is nonsense.
Avatar f tn I am also wondering if post-Seroquel, taking mild opiates like Tramadol for his spinal fusion he had in July can also be having a negative reaction to the long term affects of taking Seroquel that he seems to be experiencing. I do not wish to focus on that as much as find out from the community any and all after effects from taking Seroquel - and secondly if taking opioids after Seroquel can also effect him.
Avatar m tn It is suppose to be genetic but no one in my family has this. So it has to be the seroquel. If anyone has eye problems on seroquel make sure you go to a cornea specialist and get checked fo KERATOCONUS. You could also give me a call at 8154822704. Avatar m tn 0 mg at night, and seroquel 450mg. After the addition of seroquel I started having classical music in my head that I could hear when I was hospitalized I asked several people if they heard what I did and they did not. However when I came home from the hospital I didn't have anymore auditory hallucinations. Seroquel helped me a lot with my ocd and gave me a lot of functioning ability. My adverse affects are sleep walking, night sweats and shaking hands until I eat something sweet.
Avatar m tn Before, i was on zoloft and adivan, mostly took the adivan at night for sleeping issues.. But that hasnt worked, i saw my new psych md today and she gave me seroquel, and told me to only take it before bed time. I'll still be taking zoloft but no more adivan.. Has anyone took seroquel? Again, i have panic disorder, low self esteem... and depression sometimes...
Avatar m tn I find an icecap from Tim Horntons does the trick and since I'm driving I want to be alert.....
142722 tn?1281533616 I am groggy also today because i took 100mcg of seroquel last night and it kicked my butt today but i wake in a good mood though - i called the dr and he sent off form a "calm me down drug" but sometimes those have the oppsite effect on me you know. I have three children - my son 15 was adopted, my daughter 12, and son 8months.
Avatar n tn I have been extremely tired, achey, and of course, the hair loss..Called the manufacturer of Seroquel, and yes, one of the "rare" side effects is Hypothroidism.. I have been on the medication for 5 years; but the dosage was "doubled" to 800mg per day over a year ago.. I haven't had a TSH test since increasing dosage and last TSH test result was 1.0...I'm going to see the physc, doc 1st to see what to do..I guess I'll have to stop the seroquel..
1246883 tn?1285547973 Seroquel stays in your system for a long time. I have never heard of that for a sleep aide. Its normally written for bipolar, its a psych med. Seroquel will make you gain weight and it will cause your self esteem to go down rapidly. You should try Ambian or Lunesta. they are the best out right now. As far as the weight ask for Effexor its for depression but has helped me lose weight.
Avatar n tn Combining Ambien and Seroquel can cause central nervous system and respiratory depressant effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. Please discuss with your doctor for alternate medications. In the meantime, I would strongly caution you not to drive or operate heavy machinery while on these medications as you might injure yourself or others. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
563541 tn?1257877567 this is somthing i am very passionate about as i never wanted him on any meds, and fought for years with system ,at one point being thretened w/jail for standing up in court and stating my beliefs. when he recently was released (8 months) he stopped taking everything , and had a real bad time especially with sleeping after being on seroquel so long ,had teribble hedaches.
Avatar m tn Honestly in the beginning it did not help,,but my doctor slowly increased it and I take 300mg at night. It took a few weeks for it to build up in my system i know. I do know this,,,after coming off benzo's your sleep pattern can be whacky for a few months. discuss with your doctor again the seroquel there are other medications in the same class that might be more effective.
Avatar n tn i dont think im bp and the seroquel they put me on made me in a weird dream like state and a zombie. since the 3 months i have been on zoloft i have been great, few anxiety episodes and im driving again!! i was wondering if anyone has had that kind of reaction or experience.
Avatar f tn hello. I have been on seroquel for maybe a year. I've taken different doses but lately it's like it is accumulating in my system and making me extremely sleepy. I was on 300 mg, then went to 200 mg and that helped. Soon, I went down to 100 mg due to the fatigue. It got to the point where I wasn't waking up. I am always groggy in the mornings but it started being all day and night. I drive a lot for my job and I wasn't paying any attention at all.
Avatar m tn Dear Ronndy I would say that 100 mg Seroquel is a very high dosage to treat insomina. Usually you would take only 10-25 mg in that respect. It seems that you could have some withdrawl problems as you stopped klonopin abruptly. As Paxiled pointed out it is a bit "heavy" to prescribe klonopin for insomnia when "lighter" medications are available, for instance zolpidem or zopiklone. Or anti-histamine(allergy-medication as atarax).
202665 tn?1248806733 I am on 200mg Seroquel in the morn, 100 mg Seroquel at noon, and 300 mg at night. I also take 20 mg of Abilify, and 30mg of Cipralex (anti-depressant). In order to sleep, I have been taking Clonazapam or Diazapam - 4 pills or more as required - 5mg. The only beef I have about Seroquel is the rapid weight gain I had - 30lbs in one month.
Avatar m tn in the middle ages for 4 centuries scientists (alchemists) tried to find a way to transform copper into gold and failed. There is no such magic pill. lithium was catastrophic for me. seroquel was best. risperidal i kept for 10 years now. what is best for you can be bad for others. If you find something working.
Avatar m tn It made me sleep great and when I woke up in the morning I felt great. I will no longer be taking Seroquel, its like putting poison in your system!!! If you have any questions please feel to call me at 646 643-4352.
