seroquel

736475 tn?1281259327 There are protocols that might involve switching from one form of the drug to another for a slower taper, for example, liquid Paxil instead of Paxil CR. And these drugs aren't addictive; you don't need to keep taking more to get the same effect. They do have significant withdrawals, however, so in that sense they are similar to addictive drugs, and quite frankly, probably more dangerous to the body. I'm not trying to get into an argument with you sway, or appear I know more.
Avatar n tn I have been on the pill form of Paroxetine for over 10 years now and would like to wean off slowly 2-4mgs. at a time using the liquid form. Is it safe? I read in a book on how to get off Paxil that one should not switch. What could be the cons to switching to the liquid form?
1134609 tn?1269272200 I had that problem and I would take the morning dose earlier and sleep it off. However, I do believe now its available in an extended release form. You could ask your psychiatrist about that option and what the dosing is for it.
574118 tn?1305135284 Its a matter of promoting full mood stability than just treating depression only and creating the potential of mania (which can happen with anti depressents prescribed for bipolar especially on their own) and since Seroquel has been FDA approved as a full mood stabilizer and works in that regard (as I remember when I was prescribed it) it has full efficacy in this area but there is still continuing research (unlike its effect on schizophrenia which is known) to understand exactly why.
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I am a para-medical PhD student, and I used embalmed cadavers for my research. Yesterday I was dissecting blood vessels in muscle tissues. The vessels did have semi-liquid blood inside them. while dissecting I pricked my finger with the scalpel which had some blood on it. The wound wasn't bad, but still bleeding a little. I squeezed some blood out and washed my finger. I am not sure how well the cadaver is embalmed and I know it has not been screened.
Avatar n tn I started on regular Seroquel after a manic episode that had psychotic features. I was stable for 3 years. I had lost a lot of weight, and the Seroquel dose started to give me a harmless but uncomfortable side effect. My dr at the time said I shouldn't be on it since I wasn't currently having psychotic symptoms and tapered me off it. I went from 450mg to 150mg and I was unable to sleep and my thoughts were disjointed.
1240654 tn?1268317515 I was on abilify for a bit. I hated it. It stopped all my thoughts. It basically turned me into a zombie. I went off of it and switched to seroquel, which I prefered. Seroquel causes weight gain and drowsiness, though. I gained about 20 lbs on it. I would take the dose at night but it was so drowsy that I would be hung over in the morning so I started splitting the dose and taking it 3 times a day which meant that I was drowsy all the time but functioning.
Avatar m tn I have a question that I have always wondered about Methadone, but never wanted to ask a Dr. LOL. I understand that it comes in pill form and liquid form. What is the difference between the prescribing of it? Such as, why would a Dr. prescribe you the pill form instead of the liquid form, or why would they prescribe the liquid instead of the pill? I understand Hydrocodone comes the same way.
Avatar n tn Well, I should say, unless you use liquid vitamins, but they are seldom all that complete and once in liquid form they are much more prone to rapid oxidation and deterioration, so I personally don't use them.
663901 tn?1232649671 That is statisically rare and no reason to be concerned about Seroquel and a check up as I suggested is the best form of follow up. Seroquel is safe in this regard. In this case (you know I am always factual) your pharmacist was overstating the risk but a follow up visit is generally a good idea. You should speak to your psychiatrist about it more rather than the pharmacist as they could advise you what to do from there.
142722 tn?1281533616 I am groggy also today because i took 100mcg of seroquel last night and it kicked my butt today but i wake in a good mood though - i called the dr and he sent off form a "calm me down drug" but sometimes those have the oppsite effect on me you know. I have three children - my son 15 was adopted, my daughter 12, and son 8months.
575214 tn?1218040360 I have schizoaffective disorder and generally did not need more than one antipsychotic. Did they diagnose any form of psychosis in him? Benzotropine is a side effect pill. It is used to stop motor restlessness in antipsychotics but if he is experiencing that that may contribute to the problem. I take Clonidine in patch form. That's used occassionally as a mood stabilizer but often for Tourrette's and is used for children with restless or impulsive behavior from what I know.
Avatar m tn i take Kava for anxiety..............its a natural remedy..............its at your local health food store..........its usually found in tea form.........but if you're lucky they'll have the extract also............careful though it can make you a little sleepy if you take too much...........and................you can't have it if you're pregnant........
Avatar f tn All this can be done by clicking on my name in blue and on clinic logo. There is a injectable form available now that is covered by all major medical insurances called Vivitrol that you would need to get only once monthly to stay clean. Just keep it in mind for the future. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn Has anyone does the HCG pellets? I've only ever used the homeopathic hcg in liquid before, was interested in the pellets, and where did you buy them? Thanks!
1264863 tn?1391118193 If you are only taking 8 pills a day you are below the daily max dose. Percocet have 325mg per pill. So you are taking 2600mg of acetaminophen. They say nowadays not to go above 3000mg and it use to be 4000mg. So I wouldn't worry about it. Just continue tapering down and you will be taking less and less acetaminophen.
Avatar f tn also lexapro says it causes hair loss. i couldnt find anything about seroquel causing hair loss. seroquel is my main drug now, i take 300mg seroquel and 300mg seroquel xr at night. so i told my psy doctor and he said i could start tapering off my lithium, so it took me 6 months to get off of it. anyway i had a postive attuite when my hair first fell out in march this year. i was told it will grow back dont worry by the end of the year it will be back to normal.
Avatar f tn So may days of not feeling well are becoming more and more. Im sick of it. But I no way in any shape or form am strong enough to just quit cold turkey and deal with the withdrawls. Also I have a ton of other issues that cause severe depression. So I know im susceptible to relapse when that starts. I havent had anything since yesterday afternoon. I just went and bought a $20 bottle of kratom extract. It did help a little with body pains and im able to function but the anxiety is still there.
535822 tn?1443976780 Well I can see we are stuck up a creek without a paddle for questions so I am not bionic but I have always wondered which is best , I take quite a lot of Vits, supplements and I hear of sub-lingual and liquids, I take ,Magnesium/calcium/zinc all in one.. liquid form, so which is better , what way do you guys take your supplements.?
4274823 tn?1388529098 Has anyone read or been told to avoid consuming dairy because of the calcium while on a liquid iron supplement? Or is this more crucial if one is taking another form of iron? There is no statement on the bottle or box, yet I have seen sources online that recommend this.
Avatar f tn I suferred from gad and panic desorder. I'm on zoloft 175mg, clonopin 1mg 3 times a day, seroquel 100mg to go to sleep and 25 mg twice a day, however, I don't take the seroquel morning dose because it makes me too sleepy. I'm desperate trying to find out why I'm still having anxiety and the ton of meds are not working. I was on disability for two months and just went back to work. I've been constantly crying and being anxious. I don't know what to do.
