seroquel

Avatar f tn you do not know her medical history so it may be in others best intrust to not recommend prescription drugs. also it gets you high so not a good idea.
Avatar m tn it could help you sleep extremely but i used to take it alot and your body gets addictid to that to im actually now down to 100mg and am slowly getting off , if i dont take it i cant sleep at all its like weed, your drowsey and you get the munchies you just cant smoke it. once your body gets used to it and you dont get high off it anymore is when you should talk 2 sum 1. dependening on your tolerance.
Avatar f tn Weight gain with Seroquel can start pretty quick but you may not notice it for a little while. By the tie you have noticed it a lot of times you will feel defeated or insecure about it. It is a lot harder to prevent things when they are small rather than try to shrink them once they have grown.
Avatar f tn Wow that's a lot of weight lost! Did you replace the Seroquel with another med?
Avatar m tn My wife accidently ingested my son's seroquel 400 mg tablet thinking it was her Diovan for her high blood pressure. What steps should I take? Should I worry? should she drink more water to dilute it. Should she take one of my xanax .5 to prevent an accelarated heart rate?
Avatar f tn Since seroquel can cause high BG you sure your diabetic and not as a result of seroquel raising your BG? Go to Google and put seroquel into the serch field.
6653958 tn?1395759593 It really depends on the condition you are in and how your illness effects you. I was on Seroquel Xr for 10 months and it fixed me up, but destroyed my personal life completely. Made me entirely robotic, so I decided it just wasn't worth it. Generally a mixture of either lamictal or lithium and another anticonvulsant is required, once you've balanced out, to maintain a healthy balance.
Avatar m tn Dear Ronndy I would say that 100 mg Seroquel is a very high dosage to treat insomina. Usually you would take only 10-25 mg in that respect. It seems that you could have some withdrawl problems as you stopped klonopin abruptly. As Paxiled pointed out it is a bit "heavy" to prescribe klonopin for insomnia when "lighter" medications are available, for instance zolpidem or zopiklone. Or anti-histamine(allergy-medication as atarax).
Avatar m tn Plus i eat 6-8 times a day so that makes it hard. All of you below day 10 stay strong it gets better very fast. Stay busy, stay positive and force yourself to do things and have fun. Wish you the best. Im here to answer or help anyway you want.
Avatar m tn I occasionally take a generic sleeping pill and my doctor first suggested I take half a pill/dose to see how well it works. Splitting in half gives you 24 days, that gets you to the target date While it may not work as well as a full dose, it may be better than having several nights with nothing left before your appointment date. My thinking, give it a try.
Avatar f tn Thank you. I have talked to this doctor once about the Seroquel. He had written the script for 1 tablet 2x/day. I asked about that and he insisted that he wrote it for 1 a day at bedtime. I didn't argue, but I saw the script and it clearly said BID which means 2x/day. Could this be residual meds from being on a double dose for 3 days?
874521 tn?1424116797 it will work for sure and i suppose will be effective. But this is not the real problem. The thing is if you have BP will the seroquel be able to cover up for the strong effexor and you won't turn manic after a while. That's the real danger. taking AD's is bloody controversial and no one view about it, people differ. According to my personal experience each time i take an AD the next mania becomes more horrible and longer (kindling effect). I say AD's are dangerous.
Avatar n tn no therapist at the moment. I was once on 9 different meds at once to find that ballance between mania and deppression we are all searching for. I just started back up with the chemical approach. I tryed the natural way for 4 years but it was way too exspensive and I spent more time in the gym keeping my deppression in check than actually liveing. so I'm back to the chemicals again. but I think your right they told me high blood presure cant be cuased by seroquel?
766412 tn?1234893283 Hi everyone (especially the original poster), I'm new here but I actually joined this whole MedHelp network for weight loss DUE to seroquel. Over the past six years I've reached a high dose of 400mg, and now I'm starting to experience some of the side effects: massive weight gain, slowed metabolism, messy lipids and cholesterol levels, and a bunch of other stuff that is starting to put me at risk for Type II diabetes.
Avatar n tn I took seroquel after nothing else put me to sleep; but, it is a powerful antipsychotic that causes ticks and twitches which can become permanent. It can also cause hardening of facial and neck muscles. This is really scary possibilities. If anyone is taking it, please stop. My twitching became very pronounced and I feared it was permanent. Fortunately they eventually went away. Just don't do it.
Avatar f tn It's not a matter of not having stress anymore, it's whether you need an MS or not and the 25mg of seroquel does it for you at least. If you are not bipolar then I totally agree with you, but if yu are one then it's a different issue altogether. If you are BP then you shall need an MS whether an AP like seroquel or an AC like lamictal say etc...
1134609 tn?1269272200 I tend to teeter towards the manic side of the disorder; not hypomania, but agitated manic phases. The Seroquel really put me in a bad place; it was strange. Plus, I have to be careful of some of the medication as my family has a history of being overweight. I gained a huge amount of weight when placed on Celexa and I couldn't lose it. So, Depakote may be out of the question.
Avatar f tn The doctors say it has nothing to do with the Seroquel I took. He has a high IQ of 130, and he is in preschool reading at a 3rd grade level. He was a happy baby and is a happy delightful little boy. I'm so nervous about having this baby girl as I don't know if there will be any problems. A genetics doctor looked up the information and studies and showed me that the Seroquel does not cause birth defects. There were some children that had heart problems or respitory problems.
Avatar f tn I dropped my nightly dose of Seroquel, it's more evenly spread out during the day. You were at an extremely high dose of Seroquel, did you take seroquel in the day as well? Definitely try spreading out the dose. If you still having sleep issue, you might want to try Trazadone, it's not an addictive drug, and it makes you sleep like the dead. I also sleep with a wedge pillow for reflux, but I'm told it's good for snoring too!
Avatar f tn most likely you will suffer withdrawl from valium and it can be very hard. you should definitely try to taper slowly and i mean SLOWLY. the proper tapering over several weeks or months should reduce the awful symptoms. there was a recent documentary i heard about this. it can be difficult but certainly managable. feel better soon.
915369 tn?1355314810 Ok so I told my psychiatrist everything that came to my mind yesterday, so most of what's been troubling and how my episodes have been and how long they've been lasting and how severe they are or aren't. She said it sounded like I had rapid cycling, asked me how my low and high I was getting and just kept repeating that they get "severe". I thought I was getting better so surprise surprise for me!
