Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel get you high

seroquel

Avatar f tn Weight gain with Seroquel can start pretty quick but you may not notice it for a little while. By the tie you have noticed it a lot of times you will feel defeated or insecure about it. It is a lot harder to prevent things when they are small rather than try to shrink them once they have grown.
Avatar f tn Wow that's a lot of weight lost! Did you replace the Seroquel with another med?
Avatar n tn Well, I cant agree. I LOVE my Seroquel. But I only take it at Bedtime. It knocks me the "you know what" OUT! Now, if I go Psychotic and Delusional - I HAVE to take it but that's only happened once since I started my little combo of Topomax and Seroquel. I'm not on a very high dose of it, though. I tend to think less is more in some instances but a lot of PDocs are all concerned about "theraputic levels".
Avatar f tn Since seroquel can cause high BG you sure your diabetic and not as a result of seroquel raising your BG? Go to Google and put seroquel into the serch field.
6653958 tn?1395759593 It really depends on the condition you are in and how your illness effects you. I was on Seroquel Xr for 10 months and it fixed me up, but destroyed my personal life completely. Made me entirely robotic, so I decided it just wasn't worth it. Generally a mixture of either lamictal or lithium and another anticonvulsant is required, once you've balanced out, to maintain a healthy balance.
Avatar m tn should do it over two to three weeks, lowering dose and frequency. You should probably go back to small doses to get rid of these symptoms, then wean off.
Avatar n tn i miss-spelled the med its called Seroquel and its given in high doses( 800 mg) for people with bi polar and schizophrenia but my doctor gave me a lower dosage and said that it would help with my anxiety because she said the Klonipins weren't good for me because they can be addicting. But thank you for replying and i already tried getting in contact with my doctor, but she wasn't available.
Avatar m tn it could help you sleep extremely but i used to take it alot and your body gets addictid to that to im actually now down to 100mg and am slowly getting off , if i dont take it i cant sleep at all its like weed, your drowsey and you get the munchies you just cant smoke it. once your body gets used to it and you dont get high off it anymore is when you should talk 2 sum 1. dependening on your tolerance.
Avatar f tn try to help me understand why the doc prescribed me seroquel in high doses 3 times a day to get me through withdrawals i dont really understand maybe some one else will
Avatar n tn I took seroquel after nothing else put me to sleep; but, it is a powerful antipsychotic that causes ticks and twitches which can become permanent. It can also cause hardening of facial and neck muscles. This is really scary possibilities. If anyone is taking it, please stop. My twitching became very pronounced and I feared it was permanent. Fortunately they eventually went away. Just don't do it.
915369 tn?1355314810 Ok so I told my psychiatrist everything that came to my mind yesterday, so most of what's been troubling and how my episodes have been and how long they've been lasting and how severe they are or aren't. She said it sounded like I had rapid cycling, asked me how my low and high I was getting and just kept repeating that they get "severe". I thought I was getting better so surprise surprise for me!
Avatar n tn Are you taking anything else? Seroquel at such a low dose probably shouldn't be causing those side effects. Have you tried trazodone or ambien or rozerem?
Avatar f tn most likely you will suffer withdrawl from valium and it can be very hard. you should definitely try to taper slowly and i mean SLOWLY. the proper tapering over several weeks or months should reduce the awful symptoms. there was a recent documentary i heard about this. it can be difficult but certainly managable. feel better soon.
Avatar m tn I was on seroquel for a while when I was in high school, and the only real problem I had was not being able to stay awake during class. It really kept me sedated, and I wasn't a huge fan of that because I'm an active person. Other than that, I didn't have any out of the ordinary side effects, or complications.
607502 tn?1288247540 Why are you changing from seroquel to lamictal? I am just curious as I perhaps too might be changing from seroquel to something else in the near future. It's some unwanted side effects for me.I tried stopping the med unsupervised (don't do this at home) and I had a real job sleeping afterwards, so perhaps be prepared for that (I am back on now until I can see my pdoc).
883607 tn?1241847511 Hi, As you've had previous kidney issues on the lithium then I expect the Docs are going to keep a close eye on things - I would hope that you are getting a serum level done 7 days from starting your new dose?? If not, then get it arranged. Yes you do have some leeway and I'm pretty sure you don't go toxic unless you get over 0.8 approx. Personally I can't tolerate more than a level of 0.2, but it's not toxicity that's my problem it's all the other side effects.
Avatar f tn Hey Everyone! I have been on Seroquel for ten years now and feel that it is time to get off. I have had to go cold turkey before and hated it. I went through sweats, vomiting, diarrhea, twitches, NO SLEEP, cant eat, anxiety, fight with everyone and many other things. Those are just the most annoying. I was off it for six months before and maybe got a total of two hundred hours of sleep. I was in jail and they cut me cold turkey.
Avatar m tn Dear Ronndy I would say that 100 mg Seroquel is a very high dosage to treat insomina. Usually you would take only 10-25 mg in that respect. It seems that you could have some withdrawl problems as you stopped klonopin abruptly. As Paxiled pointed out it is a bit "heavy" to prescribe klonopin for insomnia when "lighter" medications are available, for instance zolpidem or zopiklone. Or anti-histamine(allergy-medication as atarax).
