My Dad diagnosed schizophrenic 46 years ago has deteriorated over last 4 years and has been told that he never had schizophrenia that he has bipolar disorder. He has not has psychosis for 36 years always on different meds. HE is making my mothers life hell she is a saint and his full time carer, he is so full of ANGER and taking it out on her. Is that depression? or what is it. What medication would help with this. HE is on high dose epilim and lower dose of Seroquel together.

ten years ago I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia paranoid type at UBH and my doctor Dr. Stowe I was introduced to abilify then Geodon resperdal finally Seroquel I still have this permanent psychosis meaning lifetime of meds commitment I'm on the good things in life I embraced it I'm still living I'm still alive tyvm MEDHELP !!!!

Personally, I have not heard of it being used for that as there are much more effective medications out there for anxiety. Also Seroquel can actually cause anxiety and panic attacks! I hope that your doctor asked you many more questions to determine if you had bipolar disorder than just about racing thoughts. Bipolar disorder cannot and should not be diagnosed only on the basis of that.

The more I up my mood I sleep better and more calm. I use seroquel for up to 2 years to control my mania without affecting more or less my mood, so i don't an AD any more in 10 years. What irritates me is that I take 150 of seroquel. I add 1 risperidone. Actually they are equivalent; for each 1mg of the latter is equivalent to 100mg of the former. She has been taking 600 mg of seroquel for 2 years. She was taking the seroquel while inpatient also. The dr. only sent home a rx for nortriptilyne 75 mg and klonopin .5 mg 2x daily. I'm worried sick about her having withdrawal symptoms or going manic. I have spoken to the hospital and they say it will be fine but my research says otherwise. I don't know what to do. Im currently taking 25 mg of zoloft, 1mg of ativan as needed, mostly for panic attacks, 1 25 mg hydrochlorothiazide a day for blood pressure, and now they want me to use 1 25 mg tab of seroquel at bedtime. s response rates to different antipsychotics varies so this would be yet another option if people have not responded to what is available now that you could speak to your psychiatrist about it. It is FDA approved for both schizophrenia and bipolar.

I have been on Seroquel for quite some time now and I have noticed that my memory has decreased immensely. I was wondering if this is a normal side effect from the Seroquel? Also, if I discontinue using Seroquel, will my memory return to normal?

I was given some Seroquel for sleep..(do not know why now). I took it for One Night ONLY and it made my w/ds so much worse and gave me the restless legs that night..I stopped it right away and never had the RLS again after. So please do not try to Self Medicate Yourself. Talk to the DR.. We sure can give you some hints on what we used in a more natural way that helped. Just asked and you will get LOTS of input. recently ive been having this fear of going crazy and developing schizophrenia and ive been gettin these really weird thoughts.yesterday i was in the car with my mom and i started thinking imagine if everything started melting and i started imagining everything melting, also today in the morning when i woke up i looked over at my brother and i thought i saw him smiling like a crazy person. are these intrusive thoughts caused by my fear of going crazy??
