Seroquel for recreational use

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel for recreational use

seroquel

Avatar n tn I would not recommend taking this while going to school, work or driving. Recreational use of this drug is i guess possible, but I would not recommend it for the effects of it are not pleasant or euphoric, rather they are dumbing. dont abuse this drug, not because its medically not recommended but because there is nothing really fun about it. And even if you could get any sort of a good high from it you would fall asleep.
Avatar m tn Seroquel is often used these days as an augmentation drug for all kinds of things, but it looks like a lot of it was fraudulent marketing by the manufacturer. So it's hard to tell how well it works for other than the two things it was approved for. The manufacturer isn't only being sued, the federal gov't has also taken action.
Avatar f tn You can play it off (depending on where you are) as you know you can get a medicinal use license for your condition and were considering it but wanted to make sure it's not going to throw things off for you with this medication. It's also very important that if you are using or decide to start using that your doctor knows this and how often/how much you use so he can make decisions based around this use.
Avatar f tn Not the doctor, but I'm someone very familiar with natural remedies, and kanna's effects are not commonly known as yet. It can relax you or make you more nervous, depending on the dosage, and can be habit forming, so it's not recommended for daily use. It's traditional use is as a mild narcotic, though it's not actually a narcotic, but again can be stimulating, like cocaine, though milder. Whereas, 5-HTP is very well researched.
Avatar n tn And I am not even sure if you could call coke use recreational - for the people that really like it (your BF is one) there is no recreational use a time or two a month or whatever. Its a slow ride downhill to all of the negatives you have heard about it. I cant make your mind up for you - but I would say if your BF says he wont marry you without the other girl along .... send him packing. Perhaps have him read some things from the Grandfather of coke himself - Sigmund Freud......
Avatar m tn Otherwise all drugs are krap to me, recreational use? What is that????????? I often thought I could use recreationally, trust me I was wrong. When in doubt, go without!!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and have been on Seroquel 200 mg for approx one year. Since being on the med I have experienced extreme forgetfulness. My short term memory is especially affected and it's getting progressively worse. I don't think forgetfulness is listed as a side effect of Seroquel. I was wondering if anyone else on this med has experienced the same.
Avatar n tn t even consider myself knowledgeable despite I have been bipolar 1 for years, taken meds for it and still have mood swings. But this is what I have learned thus far. Bipolar disorder is an imbalance of brain chemistry, but still not fully understood. More research is being done all the time, which will also lead to better treatments. Current medications help to stabilize the radical mood swings so that one can function easier in life.
Avatar m tn s marijuana use is not deemed excessive and does not interfere with daily function, subject must be instructed to discontinue any current use of recreational marijuana prior to entry into study and throughout the study period
Avatar f tn seroquel saved me during detox, but i was very agressive and needed the sedation if you want/need detox comfort meds, please see a doctor, that was really dump to take an anti-psyc without consulting someone there are several madications approved for use during detox, seroquel is one of the drugs that is approved for opiate detox, NOT at that dose you are not going to sleep for a few days, suck it up and rent some movies after 4 days you can try trazadone to help you sleep (get a prescription fr
Avatar f tn Have you seen a psychologist first? Paxil can be a tough drug for side effects and for withdrawal, and seroquel doesn't seem like an appropriate drug of first resort for you. Since your symptoms don't seem to be super severe, why not try therapy for awhile? Use meds as a last resort, not a first. They all have their own problems, so if you can get some help through therapy, maybe meditation as well, all the better.
447130 tn?1225470866 Afetr being on 100mg of Seroquel at night for about a month now, my sleep is back to normal and the seroquel is making me feel better, keeping depression at bay. I've been through a rough 2 weeks with some personal things and I came through like a champ. I don't need Restoril or Ambien anymore and I have adjusted to Seroquel so my doc wants me on it for a bit longer. He explained sleep is crucial to bipolar disorder and ordered my on the Seroquel until otherwise notified.
534105 tn?1226157177 Clonazepam is classified as an addictive drug and controlled substance. Seroquel isn't. I"m not sure why your doctor wants you to take seroquel -- you don't say why here. This is a drug intended for a limited purpose that was marketed illegally for all kinds of things, mostly for sleep because an unwanted side effect of it is a lot of sedation. You'd probably find quantitatively more problems quitting clonazepam, as it's one of the hardest of brain drugs to stop taking.
Avatar m tn okay... so ive been sober for about 17 days... till today for some STUPID reason i smoked maybe 5-6 hits out of a blunt... i felt REALLY high because i havnt done it in so long ( i was constant for about 3 years ) and the high is lasting FOREVER. also making me SUPER SUPER SUPER hungry ( not like regular munchies ) and making me feel so sleepy and my muscles feel so lazy... anyone ever had problems with these two mixed? i didnt pop the pill then smoke..
Avatar f tn Still in the early stages of research so I am not sure if a psychiatrist would consider it but there are a wide variety of mood stabilizers both FDA accepted for this use or FDA approved medications used off label as mood stabilizers: http://www.psycheducation.org/depression/meds/moodstabilizers.
481056 tn?1240138727 You posted asking if it's ok to use recreationally not long ago, I think you got your answer just like we told you. Addicts can't use once, it just opens the door for us to spiral down and with each relapse it gets so much harder. Are you really ready to quit, because your stealing his pills and thinking 1 here and there is ok. You should focus more on the mental part, than w/d's, get some type of aftercare and talk to your hubby about this again.
Avatar n tn To joke about some one considering taking cocaine for recreational use who has had three bypass surgeries and is taking blood thinners is just a little reckless. Takes all kinds I guess........................
Avatar n tn This all began after my one i guess manic episode. I am currently on seroquel and have been for about six years i take it to sleep but am now getting off of it. Also i have been a drug abuser and used to smoke weed everyday but now when i smoke all i get is anxious and become even more withdrawn and quiet. I don't laugh or cry even when watching shows i used to laugh at all the time. I still appreciate the humor though don't laugh.
Avatar f tn Does oxycontin as recreational use exhibit symptoms of indifference and apathy and unconcern over everyday obligations and responsibilities which prior to use were contradictory to the persons character. In other words a complete change of personally untecogisable by loved ones?
Avatar n tn and other 170 different OTC and RX that are available). I did not see Seroquel on the list and see that it is mainly for manic depression/ biopolar disorder, etc. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Seroquel is a serious drug for serious mental illness. It was illegally marketed by the manufacturer (who has been fined and sued successfully for this) for just about everything. So this isn't a drug I would take for sleep (taking any drug for sleep can be a problem long-term, so I hope you're looking for the solution and not just relying on medication) given the strong side effect profile of drugs intended to treat psychosis.
605458 tn?1539228808 And/or just an Other, because some people take medications like the antipsychotic Seroquel for inducing sleep when a person has a mood disorder.
